Benjamin McCullough

UNION - Mr. Benjamin Clarence McCullough, 88, formerly of Gaffney, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at Meadow Haven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack Bratton.

Mr. McCullough was a member of the Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church. She was retired from United Merchants, Buffalo Plant. He was the widower of Anne Mae McSwain McCullough.

Surviving are two sons, John Carol McCullough of Hampton, Va., and Thomas Charles McCullough of Columbia; his daughter, Barbara Ann Price of Rock Hill; two brothers, William Travis "Dick" McCullough and Arthur Dewayne McCullough, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Ethel Dean Garner of Gaffney and Elizabeth Farr Fowler of Jonesville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

G. Hunter Norwood

LAKE WORTH, Fla. - The Rev. G. Hunter Norwood, 80, of Lake Worth died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at home.

Burial was in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Rev. Norwood was a 1941 graduate of Columbia International University. He served 16 years with the South American Indian Mission working in Colombia and Peru. He was named general director in 1958 of the subsequently renamed South America Mission and relocated to Lake Worth, Fla. He retired in 1983 and devoted himself to Bible teaching. He was named director emeritus of the mission.

Surviving are his wife, Edith B. Norwood; five daughters, Ann Johnson of Fort Lawn, Laura Ogden of Lantana, Fla., Janet Yancey of Evergreen, Colo., Rebecca Schuit of Black Mountain, N.C., and Catherine Pankey of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the South America Mission for the library fund of the La Esperanza Christian School in Santa Marta, in Colombia.

Mizell-Faville-Zern-Southdale Chapel was in charge.

Virginia Burney

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Virginia Gilreath Burney, 92, of Westminster Towers died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Westminster Towers.

The funeral will be 11 am. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church chapel, with the Rev. Shelton Sanford officiating. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.

Mrs. Burney was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She a homemaker and resident of Macon, Ga., until she moved to Westminster Towers in 1991. She was the widow of Louie Pellew Burney.

Surviving are two daughters, Anne McMurray of Chester and Lila Burney Lassetter of Charlottesville, Va.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Westminster Towers community room and at other times at the home of James and Anne McMurray, 1002 Great Falls Road, Chester.

Memorials may be made to Westminster Towers endowment fund, 1330 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Geneva Crawford

FLORENCE - Mrs. Geneva Edwards Crawford, formerly of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Foundation AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Daran Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Crawford was a native of York County. She attended the public schools of York County. She was a member of Foundation AME Zion Church, where she sang in the Hymn Choir and was a member of the Missionary Board for many years. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens club and served on the Stewardess Board No. 1.

Surviving are her daughter, Alberta Coleman of Hawthorne, Calif., two sons, Charles Crawford of District Heights, Md., and Roosevelt Crawford of Tabor City, N.C.; three sisters, Alee Hardin of Rock Hill, Viola Witherspoon of Flushing, N.Y., and Dora Wallace of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The body can be viewed from 5 till 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 1205 Green St. Extension, Rock Hill.

Stephanie Culp

FORT MILL - Stephanie Nicole Culp, the infant daughter of Jonathon Wayne and Jaclyn Suzanne Collins Culp of 1492 Hensley Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Catawba Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Huddleston officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Jonathon Christian Culp of the home; her sister, Alisha Michelle Culp of the home; her paternal grandparents, Johnsie Robinson and Joseph Culp of Rock Hill; her paternal grandmother, Pansy Ratterree of Rock Hill; and her maternal grandparents, Jerry and Cecilia Collins of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at Catawba Baptist Church and at other times at home.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Rose Evans

QUEENS, N.Y. - Mrs. Rose Mae Davis Evans, 65, of Queens, formerly of York, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 7 p.m. Friday at Roy L. Gilmore's Funeral Home in Jamaica, N.Y. Burial will be Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn.

Among the survivors are her son, Jerry Evans of Brownsville, N.Y.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Roy L. Gilmore's Funeral Home.

Wright Funeral Home in York is in charge of local arrangements.

Myrtle Galloway

LAURENS - Mrs. Myrtle Potts Ritts Galloway, 86, of 301 Reedy Fort Road, Laurelwood Apartments, died Sunday, Aug. 9. 1998, at Laurens County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, with the Revs. Tony Irby and Henry Rogers officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston.

Mrs. Galloway, a retired clerical clerk, was the widow of John W. Galloway and Dallas L. Ritts. She was a member of Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and youth leader.

Surviving are her daughter, Marianna Ritts Smith of Laurens; her brother, Spencer Jerome Potts of Baltimore; and her grandchild.
