Addie Gilmore

PHILADELPHIA - Mrs. Addie Kee Gilmore, 84, of 1329 E. Upsal St., formerly of Chester, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at Einstein Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. Charles Pratt officiating. The Rev. E.E. Vance will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Gilmore was a member of New Way Missionary Baptist Church, where she was Mother of the church, choir member, and Missionary. She was a former member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She retired from Clover Knitting Mill in Philadelphia. She was the widow of Andrew A. Gilmore.

Surviving are her nephew, whom she reared, William Gilmore of Philadelphia; and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the home of Rosa Lee Hall, 783 Old York Road, Chester.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Friday.

King's Funeral Home is in charge.

Mae Saylors

FORT MILL - Mrs. Mae Eller Saylors, 77, of 9-A10 South White St. died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Eugene Simpson officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

Mr. Saylors was a homemaker and for more than 55 years a member of the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was the widow of Hallmon Joel Saylors.

Surviving are her son, Dean Saylors of Lancaster; her daughter, Ola S. Trull of Rock Hill; her brother, Almon Eller of Clarksville, Ga.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her grandson, Michael Trull, 1810 Shady Pine Circle, Fort Mill.

Memorials may be made to Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, 109 Harris St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

O.E. Walters

LANCASTER - Mr. O.E. "Buddy" Walters, 77, of 2274 Lynnwood Drive died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Revs. James D. Spencer III, N.J. Neely and Tommy Hefley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Walters, a native of Charlotte, was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of Springdell Baptist Church. He was an Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Foye Threatt Walters; two sons, Michael Walters of Lancaster and Kenny Walters of Heath Springs; two daughters, Linda Hefley of Lancaster and Celia Truesdale of Dillon; his sister, Carrie Stillwell of Winnsboro; seven grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church piano fund, 1426 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Isabelle Bell

LANCASTER - Mrs. Isabelle Blakely Bell, 99, of 3735 Great Falls Highway died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Needham Williamson and Houston Hall officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bell was the oldest member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a former circle leader, Sunday school teacher and member of the Women Society of Christian Service. She was a member of the United Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Stafford Graham American Legion Post No. 31. She attended Due West College and Presbyterian College.

Surviving are her son, R. Lehew Bell of Lancaster; her sister, Onnie B. Chishom of Greenville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Ronald Gordon

CLOVER - Mr. Ronald Terry Gordon, 46, of 101 Cloverbrook Drive died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Clover Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Randy Howlington officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Gordon was employed with Bowling Green Spinning. He was a member of Clover Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Grice Gordon; two sons, Daniel Heath Gordon and Joshua Curtis Gordon, both of the home; two brothers, Donald Jerry Gordon of York and William R. Gordon of Gastonia, N.C.; four sisters, Clara Lee Blalock of Gaffney, Earlyne Martin of Hickory Grove, Catherine Faulkner of York and Joyce Rush of Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Clover Church of the Nazarene building fund, 102 Hagins St., Clover, SC 29710 or to Clover Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 214, Clover, SC 29710.

Samantha Jones

ROCK HILL - Ms. Samantha Francina Jones, 27, of 327 Locust St. died Wednesday, August 12, 1998 at Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.L. Hancock officiating. The Rev. Mary Alston will deliver the eulogy and the Revs. Charles Cousar, Hattie Foster and J. E. Johnson will assist. Burial will follow in the Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Ms. Jones graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1989 and was on the track team and in the U.S. Air Force ROTC. She was listed in Who's Who in America in 1985-86. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Benedict College in Columbia in 1997.

She was formerly employed at West Marina as a lead person. She was also a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, where she served on the Junior Usher Board and the Youth Choir.

Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Frances and Nathan Cherry of Rock Hill; her father, Sammie Lee Jones of Rock Hill; four brothers, Darren Jones, William Jones, Aaron Ervin and Jerroa Graham, all of Rock Hill; four sisters, Tracy Jones and LaWanda Jones, both of Rock Hill, Shanta McClurkin of York and Tanisha Cherry of Union; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Gladney of Chester and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cherry of Edgemoor; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mildred Jones of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body will be placed in the church at noon Tuesday.

John Lockridge

CLOVER - Mr. John James Lockridge, 85, of 511 Bethel St. died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Meadow Haven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Revs. Joey Houston and Shirley Brown officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Lockridge was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Humphries Lockridge; his son, Mack Lockridge of York; his stepson, William Quinn of Clover; his daughter, Johnnie Mae Parker of Clover; five stepdaughters, Ruby Lee Madden, Tracy Howard and Nancy Mae May, all of York, Willie Mae Biggers of Clover and Kathy Ann Finley of Chesnee; four grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.
