Genevieve Pinson

ANDERSON - Mrs. Genevieve Pinson, 79, of 206 Nottingham Way, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Presbyterian Church chapel, with Drs. David J. Bailey and Martin L. Harkey officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mrs. Pinson graduated from Kemp High School in Texas and entered Parkland School of Nursing in Dallas. She received her Nurse Anesthetist degree at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She worked as the anesthetist at Shriners Childrens Hospital in Greenville. Mrs. Pinson was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Joseph Raymond Pinson.

Surviving are her son, Joe Pinson of Fort Mill; two daughters, Carolyn Frey and Kathryn Gleason of Anderson; three sisters, Doris Price of Kaufman, Texas, Barbara Sullivan of Dallas and Betty Garbee of Lynchburg, Va.; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; and her great-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Sullivan-King Mortuary. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Kathryn Gleason, 903 Parkwood Drive. The body will be placed in the church chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Shirley Smith

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith of 3376 S.C. 324 died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at home.

Arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home of Rock Hill.

Shirley Smith

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Shirley McDaniel Smith, 60, of 3376 Highway 324, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Adnah United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Michael Leonhardt and Tommy Hope officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Smith was a bookkeeper for Douglas Smith Backhoe and Excavating Co. Inc. She was a member of Adnah United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, C. Douglas Smith; her son, Wayne Smith of Rock Hill; her daughter, Ann Morrison of Rock Hill; her brother, Luther McDaniel Jr. of Rock Hill; her sister, Lucille Hardin of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Louise Warren

LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. E. Louise Warren, 62, of 6886 Montgomery Road died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Warren was a Coudersport, Pa., native. She retired from Digital Equipment Corp. and was a member of Lake Wylie Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, William B. Warren of the home; her son, Doug Warren, of Lake Wylie; two daughters, Kimberly A. Hamilton of Holly Springs, N.C., and Wanda H. Bradley of Sarasota, Fla.; three brothers, Nelson Russell of Bradford, Pa., Robert Russell of Port Allegany, Pa., and Kenneth Russell of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

Margaret Armstrong

CLOVER - Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Pettus Armstrong, 83, of 109 Adams St. died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Flat Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Clifton officiating and the Rev. Samuel H. Thompson assisting. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Armstrong was a member of New Beginning Church of Clover. She was a former member of and served on many committees of Flat Rock and Pleasant Grove Baptist churches. She also served as Mother of the Sword of Spirit Church in Rock Hill. Mrs. Armstrong was a former Worthy Matron of the Magnolia chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are five sons, William Armstrong of Clover, Roscoe Armstrong of San Antonio, Texas, James Edward Armstrong of Mount Vernon, N.Y., John Clyde Armstrong of White Plains, N.Y., and Dr. Isaiah William Armstrong of Latta; three brothers, Fred Pettus of Baltimore, Bobby Pettus of Miami and Willis Pettus of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five sisters, Lillian Armstrong of Gastonia, N.C., Hattie Armstrong and Beulah Floyd, both of Baltimore, Betty Battle of Lenoir, N.C., and Audrey Negro of Wichita, Kan.; and 16 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Edna Griggs

KERSHAW - Mrs. Edna Taylor Griggs, 88, of 1039 Buffalo Creek Road died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Springdale Village in Camden.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kershaw City Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Rivers officiating.

Mrs. Griggs was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.

Surviving is her sister, Lavenia Usrey of Lilesville, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Joyce and Gerald Vincent, 1039 Buffalo Creek Road, Kershaw.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Cecil Hallman

LANCASTER - Mr. Cecil Lee Hallman, 79, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Revs. Shane Patrick and Roy Barnes officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Hallman was a native of Lancaster and a retired employee of Springs Industries.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Jordan Hallman of Lancaster; and his brother, James Horace Hallman of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Annie Scoville

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Annie Harrell Mabry Scoville, 93, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnwell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Clyburn officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Scoville was a graduate of Winthrop College and taught in the Barnwell public schools. She was a member of Barnwell United Methodist Church for many years and taught the Mary McNab Circle. She was most recently a resident of Westminster Towers in Rock Hill. She was the widow of John Perreyclear Scoville Sr.

Surviving are two sons, John Perreyclear Scoville Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., and Robert Mabry Scoville of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends after the service.
