Linda Williford

LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Linda Craven Williford, 60, of 16 Hamilton's Ferry Road died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Beverly Health Care in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bass Funeral Home in Rock Hill, with the Rev. E. Russell Brown officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.

A native of Charlotte, Mrs. Williford was a charter member of River Hills Community Church. She attended the University of South Carolina and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

Surviving are her husband, Donald B. Williford; her daughter, Sharon Andrews of Camden, N.C.; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 9844-C Southern Pines Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28273.

Johnnie Ayers

ROCK HILL - Mr. Johnnie Ayers, 76, of 4058 Roddey Road died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catawba Ward, with Bishop Pieter Reynders officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Ayers was retired from J.P. Stevens Industrial Plant with 27 years service and from Randolph Yarns with 10 years of service. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catawba Ward.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Biddix Ayers; four sons, Alan Ayers of the home, and Johnnie Ayers, Ralph Ayers and Dennis Ayers, all of Rock Hill; three daughters, Marilyn A. Harrison of Rock Hill, Vivian A. Garland of Denver and Emma A. Mullinax of Gaffney; his brother, Foxx Ayers of Columbia; and his sister, Mary Ann Gibson of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catawba Ward, 2430 Indian Trail, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

William Curtis Sr.

CHESTER - Mr. William Carl Curtis Sr., 90, of 515 Third St. died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Chester County Nursing Center.

The graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Lando Cemetery, with the Rev. Hoyle Vinson Jr. officiating.

A native of Lincoln County, N.C., Mr. Curtis was retired from Manetta Mills in Lando where he was employed as a security guard. He was the widower of Nanzetta Irby Curtis.

Surviving are five sons, William C. "Bill" Curtis Jr. and Jerry Curtis, both of Chester, Joe Curtis of Edgemoor, Richard Curtis of Elliottsburg, Pa., and James Curtis of Paducah, Ky.; two daughters, Lynne West of Chester and Marilyn Varnadore of Rock Hill; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and his great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Home for Funerals.

R. Rudolph Harrison

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Raleigh Rudolph Harrison, formerly of 1037 Glenarden Drive, Rock Hill, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

Florence Lyons

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Mrs. Florence Ruth Lyons, 91, formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at St. Joseph's Nursing Center at Morris Hall.

The funeral liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Rosary Chapel, Morris Hall. Entombment will be at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick, N.J. A memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Lyons was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. She earned her bachelor's degree from Hunter College in 1926 and her master's degree in education from Fordham University in 1933. She taught reading skills to remedial and advanced placement students at schools in Reading, Pa., and Rock Hill.

She founded and maintained reading libraries in several schools and senior citizens' centers. She was a active member of St. Anne Craft Guild in Rock Hill, as well as several church and community choirs.

Surviving are her husband, John J. Lyons III of Lawrenceville; her son, John J. Lyons IV of Allendale, N.J.; five daughters, Mary Prutzman of Annandale, Va., Patricia Mueller of Jamesburg, N.J., Margaret Hagen of Rock Hill, Catherine Misner of Doylestown, Pa., and Florence Hurley of Charlotte; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The viewing will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Rosary Chapel, Morris Hall.

Memorials may be made to St. Anne Parish School Endowment Fund, 1698 Bird St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Kearns Funeral Home in Whitehouse, N.J., is in charge.

Linda Nelson

YORK - Mrs. Linda Stephenson Nelson, 78, of 810 N. Congress St. died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at home.

The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Todd Speed officiating.

A native of McConnells, Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and the widow of Roy M. Nelson. She was a member of the York Eastern Star and First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Nelson of York and Mary Nelson Williams of Sharon; her sister, Ola Stephenson Sherer of Rock Hill; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 tonight at the Gillespie House at First Presbyterian Church in York.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church building fund, 10 W. Liberty St., York, SC 29745.

York Funeral Home is in charge.

Donald Richardson

ROCK HILL - Mr. Donald Eugene Richardson, 67, of 868 Carey Drive died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Park Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Chester, Mr. Richardson was a retired service manager of All Fire Protection Service. He was a member of Park Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 30 years. He was a Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Jean McNinch Richardson; two daughters, Hope Richardson Robbins of Edgemoor and Lori Richardson Hodge of Rock Hill; his brother, Edward K. Richardson of Chester; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Park Baptist Church, 717 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
