Aaron Carter

ROCK HILL - Mr. Aaron Carter, 57, of 1618 Old Friendship Road died Thursday, March 12, 1998. Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.

Gladys Clark

CASSATT - Mrs. Gladys B. Willeford Clark, 98, formerly of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in Darlington.

A graveside service was at Fairlawn Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Born in Memphis, Mo., Mrs. Clark was the widow of Earl James Clark.

Surviving are two sisters, Geneva McNeil of Burlington, Iowa, and Barbara Eland of Bellflower, Calif.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 830 North Tejon St., Suite 410, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

John Isom Jr.

YORK - John Benjamin Isom Jr., 50, of 11 Watts St., died Thursday, March 12, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright Funeral Home.

Helen Loftis

ROCK HILL - Dr. Helen Ada Loftis of 2020 Hempstead Road died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at her home.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Bass Funeral Home, with chaplain Agnes Barry officiating and 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Taylors, with Dr. Ernest Carswell Jr. officiating. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.

Born in Greenville, Dr. Loftis received her bachelor of science degree from Winthrop College, her master of science degree from the University of Tennessee and her doctorate in education from Pennsylvania State University. At Winthrop she was a professor of home economics education, chair of the department of home economics education, a graduate advisor, associate director of continuing education and associate director of the Joynes Center. After 30 years in education she retired as professor emeritus from Winthrop University.

She was a member of the American Associates of Family and Consumer Sciences, the Association for Teacher Education, the Association for Student Teaching, the American Association of University Professors, the American Association of University Women and was a lifetime member of the American Vocational Association. She was a leader of the Writers of York County and left a poetry manuscript in progress for later publication.

Surviving is her sister, Margaret Loftis Barton of Green River, Utah.

The family will receive friends after each service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Thomas McClinton

RICHBURG - Mr. Thomas Jefferson "T. J." McClinton, 73, of 115 Gladden Road died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Moriah AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Grady Sharps officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Born in Chester County, he was a member of Mount Moriah AME Zion Church. He retired from Springs Industries and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was educated in the public schools of Chester County.

Surviving are his wife, Willie Mae McClinton of the home; three sons, Thomas J. McClinton, Jr. of Winnsboro, John Willie McClinton and Larry Lee McClinton, both of the home; two daughters, Darlene Barnette of Lancaster and Gwendolyn Feaster of Richburg; four brothers, Walter McClinton of New Jersey, Sam McClinton of Charlotte, James McClinton and Frank McClinton, both of Richburg; 12 grandchildren, including his grandchild reared as his son, Christopher McClinton of Lancaster; and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body will be carried to the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. The body may be viewed from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at King's Funeral Home.

Cora Patterson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Cora Lee Patterson, 72, of 821 Rockdale St. died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

Bessie Wilkins

MIAMI - Miss Bessie Lee Wilkins, 60, of 1125 Northwest 88th St., formerly of Chester, died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at Northshore Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Miami. Burial will follow at Dade Memorial Park.

Surviving are her mother Tecora Wilkins McCowan; three brothers, Vincent Wilkins, Marcus Wilkins and Dwight T. Wilkins; and two sisters, Susan Kennedy and Mildred Tennat.

Poitier Funeral Home, 2300 Northwest 62nd St., Miami, is in charge.

King's Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Lee Yarborough

ROCK HILL - Mr. Lee Printis Yarborough, 57, of 463 Green St. died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lavenia Pride officiating and the Rev. Marion Mick assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Born in Sanford, N.C., Mr. Yarborough attended the public schools of Lee County, N.C.

Surviving are his wife, Mary M. Cunningham of Rock Hill; three sons, Vincent Huntley of Harrisburg, Pa., Thadeus Huntley of Charlotte and Alfred Huntley of Atlanta; his daughter, Darlene Huntley of Charlotte; his brother William "Billy" Yarborough of Sanford, N.C.; his sister, Neomia Bunch of Sanford, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Tommy Banks

DADEVILLE, Ala. - Mr. Tommy Lee Banks, 29, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at a nursing home in Dadeville, Ala.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Church of The Nazarene in Clover, with the Rev. Dale Turner officiating.

Surviving are his mother, Shirley Banks of York; two brothers, Dennis Warren Whitaker of Clover and Gary Allen Whitaker of Monroe, N.C.; and his sister, Kathy Denise Cook of Clover.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the home of Dennis Whitaker, 405 Sumter St. Exchange.

Alabama Funeral Homes and Memorial Gardens of Dadeville, Ala., is in charge.
