Rosa Seay (1 of 2)

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mrs. Rosa Fry Seay, 90, of 3101 Crescent Lane died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Hope officiating.

Burial will be at Bowling Green Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Bowling Green.

A native of Swain County, N.C., she was retired from American Thread in Clover and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Clover.

Surviving are two daughters, Frances Munsey of Clover, and Mary Barrett of Gastonia; two sons, Herbert Seay and Bud Seay, both of Clover; 16 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mrs. Rosa Fry Seay, 90, of 3101 Crescent Lane died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at her home.

Burial was at Bowling Green Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Bowling Green.

A native of Swain County, N.C., Mrs. Seay was retired from American Thread in Clover.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Clover.

She was the widow of Gilbert Seay.

Surviving are two sons, Herbert Seay and Bud Seay, both of Clover; two daughters, Frances Munsey of Clover and Mary Barrett of Gastonia; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Wardell Foster

FORT MILL - Mr. Wardell Foster, 66, of 155 Epps St. died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Caldwell Culp officiating, assisted by the Revs. Shawn Bell and Mildred Patton. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Foster attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a graduate of George Fish High School. While in the Army, he received the Korean metal, two bronze stars and the United States SVC metal. He was formerly employed with Rock Hill Concrete Co. for more than 30 years.

Surviving are his father, William Foster of Fort Mill; his mother Maggie Lightener Foster of Fort Mill; two sons, Perry Foster of Lancaster and Ezell Smith of New York City; his daughter, Phyllis McClinton of Rock Hill; his brother, Herbert Foster of Lancaster; his sister, Phyllis F. Bouler of Fort Mill; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body may be viewed at the church before the service.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Marion Harbin

FORT MILL - Ms. Marion Taylor Harbin, 71, of 325 U.S. 21 Bypass died Friday, March 13, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home, with Pastor Carl Williams officiating. Burial will be at Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Born in Chester, Ms. Harbin was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was retired from Randolph Yarns at the Red River Plant.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda Gayle Whittington of Dillon, Beverly Ann Smarr of Rock Hill, and Bonnie Morris of Fort Mill; three women raised as sisters, Irene Knight of Fort Mill, Lola Pruitt of Charlotte, and Cora Wright of Great Falls; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave. Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Mary Maloney

NORTH CHARLESTON - Mrs. Mary McManus Maloney, 89, of Colonial Heights Nursing Home died Friday, March 13, 1998, at Colonial Heights Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Maloney was a retired payroll clerk and supply center employee at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Mrs. Maloney was also a former employee of W.C. Wilbur and Co., a member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.

She was the widow of Glenn Maloney.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Ross of Beaufort and James Maloney of Canon City, Colo.; three daughters, Barbara R. DiLatta of Chester, Va., Glenda M. Ott of Hanahan and Susan E. Maloney of North Charleston; two sisters, Lillian Felder of Hanahan and Martha Scott of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.

George Ayers Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. George Richard Ayers Jr., 71, of 836 Patton St. died Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating.

A native of York County, Mr. Ayers was a member of the Fort Mill American Legion and a World War II Army veteran. He retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith. He was the widower of Viola F. Ayers.

Surviving are three sisters, Frances Brown and Barbara Micham, both of Rock Hill, and Emma Hinson of Charlotte; his stepdaughter; and four step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Barbara Micham, 745 Norwood Ave.

Memorials may be made to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church building fund, 1024 Rawlinson Road, Rock Hill.

Bass Funeral Home is in charge.

Aaron Carter

ROCK HILL - Mr. Aaron "Big A" Carter, 57, of 1618 Old Friendship Road died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Carter officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Carter was employed with Hoechst Celanese Corp., where he worked as a CA Mechanic for 18 years. He was a CB operator with the handle "Big A." He was of the Baptist faith. He was the widower of Mary Frances Osborne Carter.

Surviving are his daughter, Loretta Carter Strange of Charlotte; his companion, Mary Buerky-Ramsey of Rock Hill; his parents, Johnny Carter and Beatrice Fields Carter of Rock Hill; five brothers, Donald Carter, Roger Carter, and Calvin Carter, all of Rock Hill, Jimmy Carter of Mullins, and the Rev. David Carter of Pickens; his sister, Gladys Carnes of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Pilgrims' Inn, 236 W. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29731.

Dorothy Carvill

FORT MILL - Mrs. Dorothy May Field Carvill, 74, of 7182 Twin Lakes Estates died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Mrs. Carvill was a Maine native, and she was a homemaker.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home.
