Lazzone Leach Jr.

LANCASTER - Mr. Lazzone Leach Jr., 68, of 401 Elm St. died Monday, March 16, 1998, at Elliott Spring Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Hope AME Zion Church, with the Revs. Doris Holmes and Kenneth Cauthen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Born in Lancaster, Mr. Leach was a member of New Hope AME Zion Church.

Surviving are his stepmother, Viela D. Leach; and four stepsisters, Sarah McIlwain, Mary Hood, Diane Ray and Margaret Ray, all of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at McCray Funeral Home.

Roy Meetze

GREENVILLE - Mr. Roy Brooks Meetze, 83, of 48 Rockwood Drive died Tuesday, March 17, 1998.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Mackey Mortuary, with the Revs. Robert G. Coon and Susan Crowell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Born in Bostic, N.C., Mr. Meetze was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed by Railway Express Agency before his retirement. He was the widower of Evelyn Traynham Meetze.

Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Morgan Meetze of the home; three sons, Ronald W. Meetze of Greenville, Kenneth A. Meetze of Rock Hill and Tommy Morgan of Simpsonville; his daughter, Beverly Morgan McClanahan of Columbia; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Francis Hospital, 414-A Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601.

Elizabeth Proctor

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. - Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Blackmon Proctor, 74, died Sunday, March 15, 1998.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Parker Williamson officiating.

Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Proctor graduated from Winthrop College in 1943. She was a homemaker and a volunteer for the Brevard Art and Science Museum.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Edward Proctor of Satellite Beach; three daughters, Elizabeth Proctor of East Windsor, N.J., Nancy Cruden of Summerville and Susan McKain of Scottsbluff, Neb.; her brother, William R. Blackmon Jr.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Sara P. Bird, 801 Milton Ave., Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 E. Henry St., Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29302-2630 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2535, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Lillian Tumbleston

CHARLESTON - Mrs. Lillian B. Tumbleston, 80, died Monday, March 16, 1998.

The funeral will be noon today at J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens.

Born in Shawnee, Ga., Mrs. Tumbleston was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was the widow of Walter R. Tumbleston.

Surviving are two daughters, Claire T. Wertz of Charleston and Chelsa T. Herron of Rock Hill; her sister, Iris C. Charpia of North Charleston; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Rayvan Vickers

ROCK HILL - Mr. Rayvan Craig Vickers, 70, of 226 Pointe Circle died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Bass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Lowery officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Vickers was a retired salesman for Queen City Appliances.

Surviving are his wife, Reba Whitehurst Vickers; two sons, Bobby Devinney of Charlotte and Mike Vickers of Greenville; three daughters, Debbie Porter of Rock Hill, Sherry Roach of Easley and Diane Cason of Greenville; two brothers, Bobby Vickers of Denver, N.C., and Ed Vickers of North Carolina; his sister, Grace Smith of Forrest City, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to York County Hospice, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Henry Boulware

GREAT FALLS - Mr. Henry Boulware, 76, of 2 Cemetery St. died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Mount Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. A. McFarlan officiating and the Revs. M. Golden and E. Jeter assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Winnsboro, Mr. Boulware was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he was on the deacon board and was president of the senior choir. He was a member of the Mount Zion Masonic Lodge No. 127. He was a retired firefighter for J.P. Stevens and Co.

Surviving are his wife, Emma B. Boulware of the home; six sisters, Willie Wilson of Great Falls, Lottie Aldridge of Steelton, Penn., Mary Ruth Gunthrope of Winnsboro, Molly Reid of Washington, D.C., Estelle Felder of Jamaica, N.Y., and Janie Bell Caldwell of Virginia; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Washington Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Friday.

Bernard Fischesser

HOBE SOUND, Fla. - Mr. Bernard Fischesser, 73, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Port Salerno, Fla.

Born in Cincinnati, Mr. Fischesser was active in the golfing community for most of his life. His positions included vice president of the Toney Penna Golf Co. and general manager of the Village Golf Club. After two years of retirement, he joined the staff of the Eagle Marsh Golf Club. He had managed several condominiums, including the Corniche on Singer Island. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Barbara Fischesser.

Surviving are his wife, Gladys "Maggie" Fischesser; his son, Christopher Fischesser of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or to the charity of one's choice.

Young & Prill Funeral Home in Stuart, Fla., is in charge.
