Bessie Gore

CHESTER - Mrs. Bessie B. Gore, 64, of 3054 Pinckney Road died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Washington officiating and the Revs. W.W. Thompson, W. White Jr. and James Owens assisting. Burial will be at Gore's Cemetery.

A Chester native, Mrs. Gore was a member of Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she was an usher and a missionary. She retired from Chester Park Elementary School as a food service attendant. She was educated in Chester County public schools.

Surviving are her husband, Tommie H. Gore of the home; her mother, Viola Archie of Rock Hill; two brothers, Jerry Wilks and William Wilks, both of Washington, D.C.; and two sisters, Rosalind Wilks and Mary Simmons, both of Washington, D.C..

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Friday.

King's Funeral Home is in charge.

Dorothy McCullough

LOS ANGELES - Mrs. Dorothy Dean Carpenter McCullough, 67, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998.

Burial was at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, Calif.

Surviving are her husband, Moses McCullough of Los Angeles, formerly of Rock Hill, and a 1955 graduate of Emmett Scott High School; 34 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Adams Funeral Home was in charge.

Mary Morton

HIALEAH, Fla. - Mrs. Mary Morton, 94, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Lowery officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Morton was a member of West End Baptist Church and was the widow of Charles Spencer Morton.

Surviving are her daughter, Myrtle Tolbert of Hialeah; three brothers, Lee Williams, W.W. Williams and Lindsey Williams, all of Rock Hill; three sisters, Ann Hoagland, Helen Gallman and Evelyn Baker, all of Rock Hill; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bass Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 1727 McConnells Hwy., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Earl Wilson

CHESTER - Mr. Earl Wilson, 66, of 2147 Baton Rouge Road, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at his home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at King's Funeral Home, with the Rev. James W. Hope officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Wilson was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Little Rock, Ark., and attended public schools in Little Rock. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, who served in the Korean War, where he received a Good Conduct Medal. He also served a European tour of duty in Germany and France. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in New York.

Surviving are his wife, Louise B. Wilson; three sons, Earl Robert Wilson and Michael Wilson, both of the home, and Richard Wilson of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Rene Blackman and Lisa Wilson, both of West Hempstead, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Monday at King's Funeral Home.

George Cousar

CHARLOTTE - Mr. George Washington "Wash" Cousar, 69, formerly of 5466 Howze Road, Catawba, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Mercy South Hospital in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion AME Zion Church No. 1, with the Rev. Alan Stewart officiating and Dr. Miriam Crawford and the Rev. Al Hayes assisting. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

A Chester County native, Mr. Cousar was a member of the Union Ezell AME Zion Church. He was a retired cement finisher and was educated in the public schools of Chester County.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Bradley Cousar of Catawba; four sons, George W. Cousar Jr. of Lancaster, Odell Cousar and Jerry Lee Cousar, both of Pennsylvania, and James E. Cousar of Catawba; his daughter Azalee Cousar of Catawba; two nieces that he reared, Ann Warren of New Jersey and Lahoma Cousar of Chester; two brothers, William Cousar of Chester and Earl Cousar of Catawba; two sisters, Amelia Hicklin of Charlotte and Etta Brown of Catawba; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Marie Cousar, 5466 Howze Road.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

King's Funeral Home of Chester is in charge.

Bleeker Gardner

KERSHAW - Mrs. Bleeker Morgan Gardner, 101, of 4340 White Oak Circle died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Byrnes Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bill Morris and Thurman Carnes officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Kershaw, Mrs. Gardner was a homemaker and a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. She was the widow of Fred Isaac Gardner.

Surviving are five sons, Crawford F. Gardner and Ray T. Gardner, both of Kershaw, Coot J. Gardner of Winter Haven, Fla., Grady G. Gardner of Alexandria, Va., and Gerald L. Gardner of Patrick; five daughters, Ethel Updike of Helen, Ga., and Mary Scott, Floree Todd, Nell Brown and Helen G. Kennington, all of Kershaw; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

Stella Gregory

FRANKLIN, N.C. - Mrs. Stella Woods Gregory, 88, died Thursday, March 19, 1998.

Surviving is her son, Ronnie Gregory of Rock Hill.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Bryant Funeral Home.
Harold Honeycutt

ROCK HILL - Mr. Harold James Honeycutt, 77, of 337 Ebenezer Ave. died Friday, March 20, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Bill Watts officiating.

A York native, Mr. Honeycutt was a member of Oakdale Nazarene Church. He was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing after 40 years of work.

He was the widower of Lucille Burton Honeycutt.

Surviving are his daughter, Christy Hall of the home; and his brother, Jack D. Honeycutt of the home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
