Charles Sweatt

LANCASTER - Mr. Charles "Charlie" Edward Sweatt, 70, of 130 Monroe Highway died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Revs. Curtis Cameron and Frank Lybrand officiating. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Sweatt was the building supervisor for the physical education center of the University of South Carolina at Lancaster and had retired from Daniel Construction Co. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Jordan Sweatt of the home; his daughter, Lisa Miles of Ridgeley, Md.; two stepdaughters, Ann Jones of Waxhaw, N.C., and Jean Williams of Lancaster; his brother, William T. Sweatt of Lancaster; two sisters, Sadie Rape and Margaret Threatt, both of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to University of South Carolina at Lancaster, building fund, PO Box 889, Lancaster, SC 29721.

Isaac White

ROCK HILL - Mr. Isaac White, 82, of 612 Lige St. died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Baptist Church No. 1 in Sharon, with the Rev. A. A. Bankhead officiating and the Rev. John Brown assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. White was educated in the schools of York County and was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church No. 1. He was retired from the shipping department of Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co.

Surviving are his wife, Queen Ester White of the home; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Thelma Wade, 904 Rolling Green Road.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 6 tonight and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Parker Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Gail Wiegand

EVANS, Ga. - Miss Gail Patricia Wiegand, 54, of 563 Ansley Way died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Platt's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Doss officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

A Washington, D.C., native, Miss Wiegand was a retired executive secretary.

Surviving are her brother, Rudolf P. Wiegand of York; and her sister, Donna W. Germany of Evans.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Platt's Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

Andy Yongue

CHESTER - Mr. Andy Miller Yongue, 80, formerly of Shorty Banks Road, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodward Baptist Church cemetery, with the Rev. W. L. Faile officiating.

A Chester County native, Mr. Yongue was formerly employed by Springs Industries. He was a member of Woodward Baptist Church and attended the schools of Chester County.

Surviving are four nephews and a niece.

The family will receive friends at home of his nephew, Earl Cameron, 1713 Lowrys Highway, Chester.

Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

George Barber

ROCK HILL - Mr. George Christopher Beckham Barber died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Clemons Funeral Home, with the Revs. T.R. Jones and Mary Barber officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Barber attended its public schools.

Surviving are his wife, Ora Lee Barber; his son, Tommy Lee Brown; his stepmother, Rosie Clifton Beckham; three brothers, David Barber of Baltimore, William Henry Barber of Rock Hill and Jackie Beckham of Charlotte; five sisters, Lucille Barber of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mattie Cherry, Maggie Harris, Francis June and Rosa Mae Beckham, all of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Clemons Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mary C. Barber, 845 Green St.

Charlene Brown

CHESTER - Miss Sharlene Dominique Brown, 20, of 2635 Clara's Court died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Old Wilson Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Robinson officating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Miss Brown was a Chester County native. She graduated from Chester High School in 1995. She was a member of the Old Wilson Baptist Church and she worked at Springs Industries.

Surviving are one son, Stephon L. Hill Jr. of Chester; her parents, A.C. Brown and Patricia C. Brown of Chester; one brother, Carl Brown of Chester; two sisters Karen Price of Temple Hill, MD and Shawna Dye of Chester; paternal grandmother, Clara Brown of Chester. Maternal grandfather, Boyse Coleman of Maryland. The family will receive friends at the home on Clara's Court. There will be a viewing from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Michael Camp

ROCK HILL - Judge Samuel Michael "Mickey" Camp, 56, of 2021 Regency Court died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. William Pender officiating. Burial will be private.

Born in Rock Hill, Judge Camp was a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Elks Club, the S.C. Bar Association and several of its committees, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge.

He was sworn in to practice law in federal court, was a juvenile public defender and interim public defender in Rock Hill, and was the legal counsel for the Rock Hill and South Carolina Jaycees. A graduate of the University of South Carolina and the USC School of Law, he was the first full-time municipal judge for Rock Hill.

Surviving are his wife, Jan B. Camp; three sons, S. Michael Camp Jr. of Columbia, Bill Landers Jr. of Rock Hill and Bobby Landers of Fort Mill; two daughters, Nancy C. Johnson of Fort Mill and Mary Lawrence Prince of Rock Hill; his father, Samuel M. Camp of Atlanta; his stepmother, Christine G. Camp of Atlanta; his brother, John Camp of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Salvation Army building fund, 119 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
