Wilfredo Cosme

ROCK HILL - Mr. Wilfredo "Freddie" Cosme, 42, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A funeral service outside of Mass will be 7 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, with Father William Pentis officiating. Burial will be private.

A native of Bridgeport, Conn., Mr. Cosme was employed as a machine operator with Conco Medical Co. in Rock Hill.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie Riccio Cosme; his daughter, Nina Cosme of the home; his mother, Ramona Belpre Cosme of Bridgeport; three brothers, Pedro Cosme Jr. of New York, and Raymond Cosme and Bernardo Madina, both of Bridgeport; and three sisters, Lydia Berrios of Waterbury, Conn., and Olga Alcover and Margie Medina, both of Bridgeport.

The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home after the service and at other times at the home.

Carl Glass

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Carl Glass, 81, of 1850 Lower Bethesda Road, formerly of Charlotte, died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A native of Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Glass worked at Ladies Apparel and was a member of the Springlake Golf Club in York. An avid golfer, he was also a former member of Temple Emanuel.

He was the widower of Lilian Margaret Schwartz Glass.

Surviving are his son, Steven Glass of Charlotte; his daughter, Suzanne Randolph of Fort Mill; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

McLean & Son Funeral Home in Gastonia is in charge.

Harriett Imke

FORT MILL - Mrs. Harriett Galbraith Imke, 97, formerly of New York, died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lutheran All Faith Cemetery in Middle Village, N.Y., with Father Overton W. Gilkes officiating.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Imke worked as a secretary in the publishing industry and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Kew Gardens, N.Y.

She was the widow of Charles Imke.

Surviving are her niece and nephew, Barbara and Bob Bergvist of Tega Cay.

Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Thelda Reynolds

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Thelda Estes Reynolds, 74, of 1043 Hearn St. died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Wyatt officiating and the Rev. Calvin Morrow and Ronald Timmons assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Reynolds worked at Aaragon Plant for 35 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Ray Estes of York and Jimmy Dean Estes of Rock Hill; her daughter, Peggy Estes of Rock Hill; three brothers, Jack McCoy of Santee, Calif., and Frank McCoy and Wayne McCoy, both of Rock Hill; her sister, Peggy Robbins of Cowpens; two grandchildren; and her companion, J.P. Timmons.

The family will receive friends at the home of Wayne McCoy, 3333 Lesslie Woods Court.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 830 N. Jones St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Regina Abney

CAYUGA, Ind. - Mrs. Regina M. Abney, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at Provena USMC Sager Campus in Danville, Ill.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery.

Mrs. Abney was retired from the housekeeping department at USMC Sager Campus, attended the Cayuga Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary, Rainbow Post No. 263. She enjoyed bingo and crocheting. She was the widow of Gerald E. Abney.

Surviving are two sons, William H. Hancock of Lafayette, Ind., and Ronald R. Hancock of South Carolina; three daughters, Elsie Abney of Frankton, Ind., Michelle McCoy of Cayuga, and Tammy Morrison of North Carolina; her sister, Barbara Wright of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 tonight at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, with Legion Auxiliary services at 7 p.m.

Viola Brooks

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Viola Langley Brooks, 89, of 555 Annafrel St. died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jerry Allen officiating.

A native of Kershaw County, Mrs. Brooks worked at the Argon Mill's twisting department for more than 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was the widow of Alfred Leroy Brooks.

Surviving are her son, Donnie Brooks of Rock Hill; her daughter, Kay Melton of Rock Hill; her sister, Fannie Rush of Spartanburg; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Eleanor Burts

DURHAM, N.C. - Miss Eleanor N. Burts, 82, of the Forest at Duke, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998.

A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill, with Dr. Charles Foss of the Episcopal Church of our Savior officiating.

Miss Burts was a Rock Hill native. She was a former resident of Bronxville, N.Y., Honolulu, Hawaii, and Greenville. She graduated from Rock Hill High School, Winthrop University and Teachers College of Columbia University. She was a kindergarten teacher. She taught in Greenville, Honolulu, Pittsburgh and New York.

She was a communicant at Christ Church Episcopal in New York. She was a member of DAR, Colonial Dames of America, First Families of South Carolina, Society of Early American Decoration, the Nondescript Club, International Christian University advisory board, and the Town and Campus Club of Durham.

Survivors include her brother, Richard C. Burts.

Memorials may be made to Winthrop University or to the Forest at Duke Benevolence Fund.

Bass Funeral home is in charge.
