Brenda Stroud

KERSHAW - Mrs. Brenda Gale Bennett Stroud, 47, of 4408 Hubert North, Lot 21, Tampa, Fla., died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Vencor Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Kershaw City Cemetery, with the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating.

Born in Lancaster, Mrs. Stroud was a member of First Baptist Church, Great Falls, and was a computer operator for Pratt-Whitney Air Craft Corp.

Surviving are her son, Anthony C. Stroud of Rock Hill; her mother and stepfather, J. C. and Freida Mae Mitchell Lucas of Kershaw; and her stepbrother, Jimmy R. Lucas of Bethune.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Freida Lucas, 101 W. Welsh St.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Dennis Whitaker

CLOVER - Mr. Dennis Warren Whitaker, 41, of 405 Sumter St. died Friday, March 20, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Born in Monroe, N.C., Mr. Whitaker was employed by Bethel Lumber Co. in Lake Wylie.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Hoyle of the home; his son, Dennis Warren Whitaker Jr. of the home; his daughter, Stacey Ann Whitaker of the home; two stepsons, Todd Ebner and Christopher Ebner, both of Clover; his mother, Shirley Simpson Banks of York; his brother, Gary Allen Whitaker of Monroe, N.C.; and his sister, Cathy Cook of Clover.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Barbara Funderburk

CHESTER - Mrs. Barbara Norton Funderburk, 73, of 121 Academy St. died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Will Brown officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery in Lancaster.

A Clinton native, Mrs. Funderburk was a former secretary at Springs Industries' executive offices in Fort Mill. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was church secretary for several years. She was also a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.

Surviving are her husband, Clyde Funderburk; her son, Fred W. Funderburk of Chester; her daughter, Clyde Ellen Funderburk of Chester; her sister, Geralene Norton Gardner of Satellite Beach, Fla.; and her grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Willie Jackson

YORK - Mr. Willie James "Tony" Jackson, 47, of 210 W. Madison St. died Saturday, March 21, 1998, in Union.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Galilee Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Jackson of the home; his mother and stepfather, Catherine Randolph and the Rev. Silas Randolph of York; his son, Antonio Jackson of the home; two daughters, Maytona Jackson of the home and Mitzi Jackson of Charlotte; five brothers, Clarence Jackson and Terry Jackson, both of Greensboro, N.C., Charles Henderson of Rahway, N.J., Kenneth Jackson of Columbia, and Willie Jackson Jr. of Burksville, Ky.; two sisters, Gail Jackson of Greensboro, N.C., and Michelle Jackson of Gastonia, N.C.; his grandfather, Willie Jackson Sr. of York; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.

Etta Logue

EDGEFIELD - Mrs. Etta Lawson Logue, 72, of 12 Harling Road died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Hatfield officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Pineville, Ky., Mrs. Logue was a retired school teacher. She was a member of Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church and was past president of the Edgefield Baptist Association Woman's Missionary Union and a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are her husband, J. Wallace Logue; her son, Kenneth Logue of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three daughters, Sharon Whittle of Edgefield, Delores Weaver of Montreal, Quebec, and Carolyn Logue of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.

Collie McCullough

ROCK HILL - Mr. Collie Edward McCullough, 61, of 320 Barnes St. died Friday at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Red Oak AME Zion Church in Edgemoor, with the Rev. Gary W. Smith officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. McCullough was a native of Edgemoor. He retired from Cone Mills in Pineville, N.C., and was an Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances McCullough; his son, Harthaway McCullough of Panama; his daughter, Vickie McCullough of New Jersey; four brothers, Lindsay McCullough and Leon McCullough, both of Edgemoor, Robert V. McCullough of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Rosevelt McCullough; two children whom he reared, Mary Catherine Gilmore of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brandy Hutchison of Rock Hill; and a grandson, Brandon Hutchison of the home.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Parker Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Myra Broome

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Myra Louise Kennington Broome, 38, of 2723 Oakhurst Drive died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ken Jones and Mr. Bill Crane officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Broome was employed at Dick Kay State Farm Insurance and was a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Mike Broome of Rock Hill; her son, Sean Michael Broome of the home; her mother, Mary Lee Kennington of Rock Hill; two brothers, Harold Kennington Jr. and Lane Kennington, both of Rock Hill; and her sister, Sharon Darley of Loganville, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Max and Jo Ann Broome, 1344 Robbett Court.

Memorials may be made to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church building fund, 1024 Rawlinson Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
