Marie Archie

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Marie Archie, 85, of 4900 Craig Ave. died Monday, March 23, 1998, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Burial will be at York Memorial Park.

A native of York County, Mrs. Archie was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and Easter Star Golden Hue No. 15.

Surviving are her husband, Woodrow Archie; her daughter, Annie Burris of Charlotte; her stepdaughter, Daisy Moore of Greenwood; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Alexander Funeral Home is in charge.

Creola Lowery

ROCK HILL - Ms. Creola Lowery of 376-G McCullough St. died Friday, March 20, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clyde Raymond officiating and the Rev. Napoleon Baxter assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Chester County, Ms. Lowery was a retired employee of Winthrop College and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she sang in the hymn choir. She attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving is her sister, Mabel Douglas of Edgemoor.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Ethel Weathers

LAURENS - Ms. Ethel Jenkins Weathers, 85, formerly of Hickory Tavern Community, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Meadow Haven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Rabun Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Greenville County, she was employed with Regal Textiles for 31 years. She was a member of Rabun Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She has lived in Rock Hill for the past seven years.

Surviving are her daughter, Joan T. King of Laurens; her son Fred E. "Gene" Weathers of Rock Hill; three sisters, Sarah King and Ida Kellett, both of Fork Shoals; and Connie Boff of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Debby Ausburn, Pitts Road, Hickory Tavern Community, and will receive friends at the church fellowship hall after the service.

Memorials may be made to the Rabun Creek Baptist Church cemetery fund, Route 1, Box 159, Gray Court, SC 29645.

Eleanor Calaway

CATAWBA - Mrs. Eleanor Gray Calaway, 85, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at El Bethel United Methodist Church in Fort Lawn, with the Rev. Pamela Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Linville United Methodist Church in Lake James, N.C.

Born in Lenox Township, Ohio, Mrs. Calaway was a longtime resident of Jefferson, Ohio, and Lake James. She attended El Bethel United Methodist Church in Fort Lawn.

Surviving are her daughter, Judith Knutsen of Catawba; her son, John D. "Jack" Calaway; three sisters, Betty Meade and Mable Gogul, both of Jefferson, and Gladys Galpin of Charleston, W.Va.; her brother, Robert Gray of Niles, Ohio; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to El Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 310, Fort Lawn, SC 29714.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Cole Frase

TEGA CAY - Cole Mitchell Frase, infant son of Russell David and Nancy O' Brien Frase of 17020 Windsong Bay Lane, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, with Kenneth Spitler officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Seth Frase of Tega Cay; his sister, Claire Frase of Tega Cay; and his paternal grandparents, Les and Evelyn Berry of Wooster, Ohio.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Lake Wylie Lutheran Church after the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cole Frase Memorial Fund, c/o Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, 2906 West S.C. Highway 160, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Anthony Gangemi

LANCASTER - Mr. Anthony George "Tony" Gangemi, 73, of 3763 Taxahaw Road died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hartley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Born in New Jersey, Mr. Gangemi was a security guard with U.S. Textiles and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Carolina State Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Ida Mae "Mitzi" Gangemi of the home; three sons, Anthony G. Gangemi Jr. of Cedar Knolls, N.J., Brian O'Brien of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Glenn O'Brien of Newton, N.J.; two daughters, Toni Gangemi Busbin of Summerville, Ga., and Jacqueline Noel Gangemi of Monroe, N.C.; two brothers, Angelo and Michael; his sister, Carolyn; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Susan Huggins

LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mrs. Susan Kimbrell Huggins, 38, of Windsong Bay Lane died Monday, March 23, 1998, in Lincolnton.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Roger Brown and Benny Green officiating. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Huggins graduated from Indian Land High School in 1977 and was a member of Indian Land Baptist Church. She was a loan officer at SRP Federal Credit Union in Augusta.

Surviving are her husband, Harley Wayne Huggins of Fort Mill; her son, Jeremy W. Huggins of Fort Mill; her parents, Richard L. Kimbrell Sr. and Laura C. Kimbrell, both of Fort Mill; her brother, Richard L. Kimbrell Jr. of Fort Mill; and two sisters, Laurie K. Wilson and Sallie L. Kimbrell, both of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of her parents, 8791 Charlotte Highway.
