Sarah McKeown

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Sarah "Tunney" McDowell McKeown, 84, formerly of Richburg Road, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at White Oak Manor in York.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Rumford officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Born in Hickory, N.C., Mrs. McKeown was previously employed with the Chester County Schools as a dietician. She attended the schools of Clinton, was a member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 211-O.E.S.

She was the widow of A.W. "Sig" McKeown.

Surviving are her son, Billy McKeown of Columbia; her daughter, Aubrey McKeown Wanser of Rock Hill; her brother, J.B. McDowell of Chester; her sister, Margaret Stoll of Sedonna, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Robert Corder

ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Corder, 64, 565 Trexler Lane, died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eddie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Corder was a carpenter with Southeastern Industrial Inc. in Rock Hill. He was an Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Diann Parris Corder; his son, Robert David Corder of Rock Hill; three daughters, Wanda C. Blackwell and Barbara Corder, both of Rock Hill, and Robin C. Joas of Colts Neck, N.J.; his brother, James Corder of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Saturday at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Charles Goodwin

ROCK HILL - Mr. Charles Manion "Mannie" Goodwin, 60, of 929 Woodway Lane, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at his home.

A funeral outside of Mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with Deacon James Hyland officiating. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. Goodwin was a brick industrial engineer with Signode.

Surviving are his wife, Frances "Fran" Brindle Goodwin; two sons, Michael Goodwin of Elon College, N.C., and Patrick Goodwin of Greensboro, N.C.; two daughters, Theresa Duhan of Greensboro, N.C., and Julie Goodwin of Wilmington, N.C.; his stepson, John Gillilan Jr. of Wilmington, N.C.; his stepdaughter, Sandra Lyda of Rock Hill; his mother, Marie M. Goodwin of Des Moines; two brothers, James Goodwin and Thomas Goodwin, both of Des Moines; his sister, Gayle Landis of Des Moines; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

A vigil service will be at 7 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home. The family also will receive friends at home.

Helen Heckle

CHESTER - Mrs. Helen Pitts Heckle, 96, formerly of Hillcrest Drive, Chester, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at Springdale Village Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Heckle was a retired school teacher and was a graduate of Saluda High School and Winthrop College. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chester.

Surviving are two daughters, Anita Baker of Columbia and Amelia Stone of Lugoff; her brother, Dr. J. William Pitts of Columbia; two sisters, Anita Elizabeth "Nita" Pitts of Columbia and Frances Pitts Broadway of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 3:45 p.m. today at Barron Funeral Home.

Charles Linderman

YORK - Mr. Charles Dee Linderman, 88, 1569 N. U.S. 321, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alan Price officiating and the Revs. Shannon Duncan, Jimmy McGraw and John Linderman assisting. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Linderman was retired from the shipping department at Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Few Linderman; his son, John Broadus Linderman Sr. of Kings Mountain, N.C.; his brother, J.A. Linderman of Greenville; four sisters, Maude L. Vest of Greenville, Virginia.; L. McCall of Marietta, Ga., Stella L. Gavit of Travelers Rest, and Marie L. Herndon of Rock Hill; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Jane McKnight

Mrs. Jane Ferguson McKnight, 53, 15 Georgia Ave., died Wednesday, March, 25, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James L. Correll officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of Clover, Mrs. McKnight was a housewife. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Richard "Dicky" McKnight; three daughters, Sharon F. Baldwin and Tamara McKnight, both of York, and Dale F. Smarr of Hickory Grove; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight in the parlor at Trinity United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York County Hospice, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

York Funeral Home is in charge.

Melvin Morgan

ROCK HILL - Mr. Melvin Herbert Morgan, 59, of 4537 Turkey Lane, died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at his home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Roddey officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Morgan was a retired upholsterer with Art Upholstery and A&A Upholstery in Rock Hill and H&H Upholstery in Gastonia, N.C. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was the widower of Merlene Shelton Morgan.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth H. Morgan of Columbus, Ga., and James H. Morgan of Pelzer; three daughters, Janice L. Easter of Greensboro, N.C., Francine Morgan of Shelby, N.C., and Angie Gunter of Charleston; three sisters, Frances J. Starnes and Margaret Rollins, both of Rock Hill, and Martha Gates of Lancaster; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
