R.C. Morton

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Mr. R.C. "Ray" Morton, 61, of 1305 W. Gold St. Extension died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Burns officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Morton was retired from Exxon Service Station at Union Road and Broad Street in Gastonia.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Ruppe Morton; two sons, Donnie Morton of Lowell, N.C., and Allen Morton of Rock Hill; two daughters, Felecia Black of Conway and Tina Chapman of McAllen, Texas; four brothers, Richard Morton of Newberry, Judson Morton of Belmont, N.C., Gene Morton of Rock Hill and James Morton of Kings Mountain, N.C.; three sisters, Frances Rudisill and Nollie Clemmer, both of Dallas, N.C., and Eula Hancock of Rock Hill; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Harris Funeral Home.

Barbara Bright

CHESTER - Mrs. Barbara Furr Bright, 49, of 2202 Pressley Road died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Gregg Keller officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bright was an employee of Mack Truck. She was a graduate of Chester High School.

Surviving are her husband, James Walton "Will" Bright; her son, Chris Bright of Chester; her daughter, Kasey Ray Collins of Chester; two brothers, Sam Furr of Richburg, and Mike Furr of Great Falls; four sisters, Betty McFalls and Robin Flenniken, both of Chester, Darlene Tessener of Boiling Springs, N.C., and Delores "Phil" Millwood of Great Falls; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney St., Chester, SC 29706.

Roy Campbell

ROCK HILL - Mr. Roy Campbell, 71, of 619 N. Jones St. died Sunday, March 29, 1998 at White Oak Manor in Shelby, N.C.

A memorial service was 2 p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Revs. Steve Campbell of Shelby, N.C., and Ruble Campbell of Newport, Tenn., officiating.

Mr. Campbell was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred M. Campbell; two sons, Steven R. Campbell and Jerry L. Campbell, both of Shelby, N.C.; his brother, the Rev. Ruble Campbell of Newport, Tenn.; his sister, Martha Campbell of Newport, Tenn.; three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Greene Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

De-Asia Douglas

ROCK HILL - The funeral for De-Asia Douglas, the infant daughter of Sharnta Douglas of 1847 Wildcat Road, who died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center, will be 3 p.m. Monday at Nazareth Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Kiser officiating and the Revs. Hattie Foster, Bobby Lindsay and Carolyn Smith assisting.

Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her maternal grandparents, Charles and Diane Douglas of Rock Hill; her maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Isom of Rock Hill, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foster and Mrs. Rosetta Douglas, all of Rock Hill; her great-great-grandmother, Ida Harris of Rock Hill; her maternal step-grandmother, Betty Jean Woods of Rock Hill; and her step-grandfather, David Young of Rock Hill.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home. It will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Monday.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Ruby Frazier

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mrs. Ruby Lee Martin Frazier, 74, of Greensboro, N.C., died Wednesday, April 1, 1998 in Greensboro, N.C.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Doug Butler officiating.

Mrs. Frazier was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. She was retired from Sears.

Surviving are her husband, Charles B. Frazier Jr.; her son, Bob Frazier of Rock Hill; two daughters, Patricia Satterwhite and Brenda Robertson, both of Greensboro, N.C.; her sister, Mae Capps of Greensboro, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary Hartis

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Margaret Dunn Hartis, 47, of 1222 Melrose Drive died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, with Lt. Chuck Whiten officiating and Maj. Robert Butler assisting. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Hartis was a bookkeeper for the Salvation Army and a member of its church. She also was the owner and operator of Dunn Mobile Home Park in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her husband, Roy Wayne Hartis; two sons, Anthony Carl Fudge and Ryan Christopher Fudge, both of the home; three stepsons, Roy Wayne Hartis Jr., Ricky Hartis and Jamie Hartis, all of Rock Hill; her daughter, April Elizabeth Fudge of the home; her brother, Carl O. Dunn of Rock Hill; three sisters, Minnie Lou "Lucy" Brown of York, Betty Irene Sexton of Rock Hill and Rebecca Ann Dunn Hinson of Lake Wylie; and her granddaughter, Alexis Elizabeth Fudge, whom she helped rear.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 119 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Estrella Mesa

MADISONVILLE, Ky. - Mrs. Estrella Mesa, 82 of Madisonville, Ky., formerly of Rock Hill, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Christ The King Catholic Church, with Father Frank Roof officiating.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Joseph Mesa and George Mesa, both of Madisonville, Ky.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 101 E. Arch St., Madisonville, KY 42431.

Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
