Ed Minix

YORK - Mr. Ed Roy Minix, 63, 2179 U.S. 321 North died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Minix was a retired aircraft mechanic with USAir.

Surviving are his wife, Kerrie Jane Kuiper Minix; his son, George Ray Minix of Bridgeport, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Jean Minix Hall of Weatherford, Texas and Katrina Lynne Minix Spann of Kerdons, Texas; two sisters, Allien Minix McDonald of Wolfe City, Texas and Jean Minix Cathey of Grapevine, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Melvin Mitchell

EDGEMOOR - Mr. Melvin Stead Mitchell, 85, of 3523 Mount Holly Road died Thursday, April 2, 1998, at his home.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Mount Holly United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Arthur Holt officiating.

Mr. Mitchell was an assistant dyer at Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Co. for 44 years.

Surviving are his son, Clyde Mitchell of Edgemoor; his daughter, Faye Faulkenberry of Edgemoor; two brothers, Walter Mitchell and Mason Mitchell, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Lillian Hamilton of Rock Hill; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service and at other times at the home.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Margaret Norman

CLOVER - Mrs. Margaret Brandon Norman, 66, of 404 Smith St. died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at her home.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Woodside Cemetery, with the Revs. Paul Hutchison and Jack Robinson officiating.

Mrs. Norman was a graduate of Winthrop College. She was a high school chemistry and biology teacher for York School District 1 and Clover School District 2. She was a former chemical analyst for Celanese Corp. of America and senior chemical/size technician for BASF Structural Materials. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clover.

Surviving are her daughter, Catherine Norman of Rock Hill; two brothers, William D. Brandon of York and Leon Brandon of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Alice B. Carroll and Susan Brandon, both of York, and Lillian Dinklage of Belmont, Mass.; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 124 Bethel St., Clover, SC 29710 or to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Karen Crawford

YORK - Mrs. Karen Zanesky Crawford, 40, of 108 Creekside Drive in Fort Mill died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Faulkner officiating and Pastor Ron Lambright assisting. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York.

Mrs. Crawford was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Crawford Jr.; two sons, Scott Willmott of Norwalk, Conn., and Troy Tuozzolo of Fort Mill; four daughters, Dawn Willmott of Norwalk, Conn., and Brooke Tuozzolo, Brittney Tuozzolo, and Taylor Tuozzolo, all of Fort Mill; her parents, Robert G. Zanesky and Barbara Zanesky of Fort Mill; two brothers, Robert Zanesky of Fort Mill and Paul Zanesky of Norwalk, Conn.; her sister, Alyson Z. Lanter of Fort Mill; and her maternal grandmother, Jean Perrin Adams of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Karen Jean Memorial to Improve, Help and Enhance Marriage, Joy Center Church Ministries, c/o Cana Wedding Chapel, 3099 Hwy 21, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Nancy Dinkins

FORT MILL - Mrs. Nancy Cleo Patterson Dinkins, 83, formerly of Hensley Road, died Friday, April 3, 1998, at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Home of Monroe, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Taylor Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

Mrs. Dinkins was retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Joyce Caskey Osborne of Fort Mill; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at St. John's United Methodist Church and at other times at the home of Joyce Caskey Osborne, 1285 Hensley Road.

Viewing will be from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Mid-State Chapter, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202-7044.

James Durham

LAKE WYLIE - Mr. James Durham, 63, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Clover, died Monday, March 30, 1998, in Brooklyn.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Hill AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Terrence Jones officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Durham was a native of Clover.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Deloris Durham; his son, James Durham Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three daughters, Teresa Kendrick and Lois Stewart, both of Fort Hood, Texas, and Lillian Durham of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his mother, Annie Durham Kendrick of Lake Wylie; four brothers, Lewis McKinney of North Hill, Pa., Robert Kendrick and Leroy Kendrick, both of Gastonia, N.C., and Harold Kendrick of Elloree; four sisters, Farrie Thomas and Lizzie Johnson, both of Gastonia, N.C., and Mary Knox and Naomi Kendrick, both of Lake Wylie; and seven grandchildren.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Wright Funeral Home in York is in charge of arrangements.
Tomiesean Heffney

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Tomiesean White Heffney, 75, of 362-A Heckle Court died Friday, April 3, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Clemons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald Broom officiating. Burial will be at Mount Zion AME Zion Church cemetery.

Mrs. Heffney was born in Chester County and was a member of Mount Zion AME Zion Church.

Surviving are her son, Johnny Marion Heffney of the home; four daughters, Lillian Ward of Charlotte, Yvonnia Heffney of the home, and Linda Jennings and Mary Mitchell, both of Rock Hill; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clemons Funeral Home.

The body maybe viewed from 3 to 5 today at Clemons Funeral Home.
