Ruth Lanning

DANVILLE, Penn. - Mrs. Ruth Marie Eisenhower Lanning, 80, formerly of Elm Street in Great Falls, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at her home.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Mayo Funeral Home in Berwick, Penn.

Mrs. Lanning was the widow of Willard "Bill" Lanning. She was retired from MacGregor Clothing. She was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are her daughter, June West of Rochester, N.Y.; her son, Earl Lanning of Danville, Penn.; two sisters; two brothers; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home in Great Falls, S.C., is in charge of local arrangements.

William McAliley Sr.

AUSTELL, Ga. - The Rev. William Samuel McAliley Sr. died Tuesday, April 7, 1998.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at the Presbyterian Village Center in Austell.

The Rev. McAliley was a native of Chester. He was a graduate of Erskine College, taught school and was a school principal during World War II. He graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1950. He worked in Presbyterian churches throughout the Southeast as well as at Tirzah Presbyterian Church in York. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Surviving are his wife, the Rev. Elizabeth Dunlap McAliley; three sons, Sam McAliley of Aurora, Colo., Carl McAliley of Houston, Texas, and Richard McAliley of Port Angeles, Wash; two daughters, Ruth M. Harper of York and Sarah M. Oba of Tokyo, Japan; and 10 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Presbyterian Village for the Caring Hands fund, 2000 East-West Connector, Austell, GA 30106.

Julia Moore

BLACKSBURG - Mrs. Julia Logan Moore, 74, of 179 Thompson Road died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at her home.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Mount Paran Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Revels officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Moore, a homemaker, was the widow of Eugene Moore Sr. A native of Rock Hill, she was a member of Mount Paran Baptist Church. She attended Limestone College and was Miss Blacksburg 1939. She was a member of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars Auxiliary.

Surviving are her son, Eugene R. Moore Jr. of Easley; two daughters, Julia M. Lane of Blacksburg and Lisa M. Grier of Shelby, N.C.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at White Columns Funeral Service and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 809-A East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29301 or to Mount Paran Baptist Church, 105 Mount Paran Road, Blacksburg, SC 29301.

The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. today.

Frances Small

KERSHAW - Mrs. Frances Ethel Byrd Small, 87, of 7732 Old Jefferson Highway, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Midway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randall Runion officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Kershaw, Mrs. Small was a homemaker and member of Midway Baptist Church.

Surviving are six sons, George B. Small of Camden, Robert L. Small of Florence, Grady W. Small of Indianapolis, Ind., F. Jackie Small of Jefferson, Joe C. Small of Fremont, Calif., and Charles M. Small of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, E.J. Robinson of Leslie and William "Buddy" Byrd of Kershaw; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Kershaw County Hospice, c/o BMC Foundation, P.O. Box 11304, Columbia, SC 29211.

Bundy Starnes

ROCK HILL - Mr. Bundy Hoyet Starnes, 70, of 2465 Breen Circle died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at his home.

The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Hogg officiating and the Rev. Sollie Hicks assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in Waxhaw, N.C., Mr. Starnes was a member of First Baptist Church. He was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and retired from Sears, where he worked as an appliance mechanic for 26 years.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Knight Starnes; two sons, David L. Starnes of Moore and Timothy H. Starnes of Rock Hill; his daughter, Susan S. Parrado of Seneca; three brothers, John Starnes of Charlotte, Hoyet B. Starnes of Waxhaw and McRae Starnes of Chesnee; three sisters, Grace Tyson and Luticia Flower, both of Waxhaw, and Mary Jane Holshouser of Monroe, N.C.; four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Forward By Faith, 215 East Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Sally Wade

YORK - Mrs. Sally A. Wade of California Circle died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright Funeral Home.

Kenneth Williams

AIKEN - Mr. Kenneth R. Williams, 50, of 1383 Hampton Ave. N.W. died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Aiken, with the Rev. Douglas Slaughter officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Bible Way Church Cemetery in Wagener.

Mr. Williams was U.S. Army veteran and a mechanical draftsman. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church, where he sang with the Male Chorus.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly Singleton Williams; two sons, Keith Christopher Williams and Kevin Jerome Williams, both of Aiken; and his parents, Jim and Betty Williams of Salley.

G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary is in charge.
