Eugene Sullivan

ROCK HILL - The funeral for Mr. Eugene Alvin Sullivan, 57, of 1634 Nicholson Ave., who died Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center will be in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Sullivan was employed at Inland Container in Rock Hill and was formerly employed with Cyklop Strapping in Downington, Penn., for 25 years. He served in the Marine Corps.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Charmaine Sullivan; his son, Robert Lee Sullivan of Stockerton, Penn.; two daughters, Robin Lynn Sullivan Lefever of Port Clinton, Penn., and Patricia Maureen Sullivan of Houston; his mother, L. Kelly Miller of Oxford, Penn.; his sister, Janice Sue Yosick of Hanover, Penn.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Mabel Boulware

CHESTER - Mrs. Mabel Davis Boulware, 81, of 921 Davis Drive died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at the home of her daughter in Orangeburg.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Boulware was the widow of Hayne C. Boulware. She was retired from Campus Sportswear. She attended the schools of Chester County and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Wayne C. Boulware of Catawba; her daughter, Sandra B. Cameron of Orangeburg; her brother, John A. Davis of Chester; two sisters, Evelyn McKown of Chester and Jessie Mae Crozier of Lincolnton, Ga.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Francis Broughton

KERSHAW - Mr. Francis David Broughton, 74, of Youngs Bend Road died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pineview Baptist Church with the Revs. Trent McLaughlin and L.B. Broughton, and Glenn Carter officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Broughton was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and the Kershaw Senior Citizens. He was a Mason, member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge No. 178 and member of the Woodman of World Lodge No. 196. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Sims Broughton; two sons, F. Michael Broughton of Kershaw and Robert D. Broughton of Heath Springs; his daughter, Arlene Brown of Kershaw; two sisters, Corrie Catoe of Heath Springs and Grace Phillips of Kershaw; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Lonnie Dixon

COLUMBIA - The funeral for Mr. Lonnie Dixon, 48, of 13 Inway Court, formerly of Chester, who died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at his home will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. W.E. Page officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Dixon was a native of Chester. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and attended the St. John Newman Catholic Church in Columbia. Mr. Dixon was a 1968 graduate of Chester High School. He received his bachelor of arts degree in 1972 from Benedict College and his master of education degree from the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the South Carolina Council of Social Studies. A teacher for 27 years, he was teaching at Lower Richland High School, where he had 20 years of service. He was the chairperson of the social studies department and coordinator of adult education at the school.

Surviving are four brothers, Tommie F. Dixon Sr., Calvin Dixon, both of Chester, Johnny M. Vickers of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bernard Dixon of Ridgeland.

The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to noon today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home in Chester and from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Leevy's Garner's Ferry Road Chapel in Columbia.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Leevy's Garner's Ferry Road Chapel in Columbia and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tommie F. Dixon, 109 Hope St., Chester, and Calvin Dixon, 100 Torbit St., Apartment 5-C., Chester.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church family center building fund, 591 Columbia Road, Chester, SC 29706.

Margaret Furman

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Margaret R. Furman, 70, of 1035 Glenarden Drive, Apartment F, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, with the Rev. Charles Foss officiating. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Bennettsville.

Mrs. Furman was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour. She was the widow of Clayton English Jr. and Ricky L. Furman.

Surviving are two sons, Gerry English of Mount Pleasant and John English of Charleston; her daughter, Allyson Cain of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour.

Memorials may be made to the York County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 4975, Rock Hill, SC 29731 or to York Place, 234 Kings Mountain St., York, SC 29745.

Barbara Gay

LANCASTER - Mrs. Barbara Ann Broome Gay, 56, of Confederate Avenue died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Revs. Eddie Usher and Charles Hendricks officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gay was retired from Duracell and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Jessie Gay; two daughters, Sylvia Hinson and Sherry Alford, both of Lancaster; her father, the Rev. William Howard Broome of Lancaster; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 400 Grace Ave., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Anna Hiller

CONCORD, N.C. - Mrs. Anna Hiller, 90, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Avanti Nursing Home in Concord, N.C.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at City Cemetery in Wellington, Kan.

Surviving are two daughters, Morna Matheny of Rock Hill and Margaret Hollis of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Resthaven Funeral Home in Wichita, Kan., is in charge.
