Sybil Williams

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Sybil Clanton Williams, 65, of 1262 Sullivan St. died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald Herbert officiating.

Mrs. Williams retired as a bookkeeper for Tollison-Neal Drug Store after 35 years of employment. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Surviving are her mother, Myrtle Williams of Rock Hill; three sisters, Ruth Neal of Lancaster, Vonetta Abraham of Charlotte, and June Azilee Covington of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 1140 Curtis St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

James Adams

LANCASTER - Mr. James Andrew Adams, 71, of 1148 Faile St. died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melvin Adams officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Adams was retired from the Springs Industries packing department of Grace Bleachery.

Surviving are his daughter, Teressa Adams Cairnes of Heath Springs; his stepson, Edward Glenn McAteer of Port St. Joe, Fla.; four brothers, the Rev. Melvin Adams, Fred Adams, Bobby Adams and Clarence Adams, all of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his daughter, Teressa Cairnes, 3750 Hoke Road, Heath Springs.

Frances Ashley

YORK - Mrs. Frances Morrison Ashley, 72, of 141 Charlotte St. died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Correll officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Ashley was a retired clerk at the York County Auditor's office.

Surviving are her husband, James "Jimmy" Ashley and her brother, Donald Morrison of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the Trinity Center at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church organ fund, P.O. Box 376, York, SC 29745 or to the York Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 644, York, SC 29745.

York Funeral Home is in charge.

Lawrence Barber

ROCK HILL - The funeral for Mr. Lawrence Barber of 1780 Oak Pond Road who died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Rock Grove AME Zion Church, with the Rev. R.V. Washington officiating and the Rev. John Brown assisting. The Rev. Thomas Barber will give the eulogy.

Mr. Barber attended the public schools of York County. He was on the stewards board at Rock Grove AME Zion. He was employed at Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Co. for 45 years.

Surviving are his wife, Janie K. Barber; four sons, Lawrence Barber Jr. of Clinton, Rick Kendrick, Charlie Kendrick and Leroy Crockett, all of Rock Hill; 10 daughters, Betty B. Lowery of Baltimore, Md., Marlene Lemon of Charleston, Janie Barber Ross, Carolyn Barber, Mary Barber, Melissa Barber, Gwendly Miller, Ebony Barber, Frances Crockett, all of Rock Hill, and Ann Smith of Pleasantville, N.J.; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Ethel Bowens

ESCONDIDO, Calif. - Mrs. Ethel Bowens, 59, of 653 Harding St., formerly of Shelby, N.C., died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Palomar Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by McLeod Mortuary.

Sean Camp

YORK - The funeral for Sean Cameron Camp, infant son of Sean Cameron and Darnella Furr Camp of 171 Stafford Drive, who died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, will be noon Saturday at the chapel of Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill with the Rev. Johnny Barker officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Jessica Taylor Camp of the home; his paternal grandparents, Tommy and Betty Jean Camp of Clover; his maternal grandmother, Barbara J. Baughman of Gastonia, N.C.; his paternal great-grandparents, James J. and Helen Nichols of Lake Wylie; his paternal great-grandmother Ruby Lee Camp of Myrtle Beach; and his maternal great-grandmother, Imogene Furr of Lake Wylie.

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Home.

Annie Cole

SHARON - The funeral for Mrs. Annie Macie Good Cole, 83, of 4923 Lockhart Road, who died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at the residence of her daughter, 210 Sharon Road, York, will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion AME Zion Church in Hickory Grove.

The Rev. Tony Dogan will officiate and the Revs. James Burris and Emmett Browning will assist. Burial will be at St. John Baptist Church cemetery in Sharon.

Mrs. Cole joined Mount Zion AME Zion at an early age. She moved her membership to St. John Baptist Church in 1945, where she was a member of Hymn Choir No.1 and the AP&B Society. She was a member of the Lux Fiat Chapter No. 110, Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her daughter, Joesay Bratton of York; her sister, Sallie Mae Kennedy of Westbury, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter.
