D.C. Lowery

YORK - Mr. D.C. Lowery, 63, of 1 Cannon Court died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday at White Hill AME Zion Church, with Dr. W.O. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Lowery was a trustee at White Hill AME Zion Church and a member of the White Hill Men's Club and A.P.& B Society.

Surviving are his wife, Dequater Lowery; his son, Willie Gwinn Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his daughter, the Rev. Margaret G. Powell of York; four brothers, Robert L. Douglas of Charlotte, Johnny Lee McCoy of Rochester, N.Y., Andrew McCoy of Fayetteville, N.C., and Donald McCoy of Rock Hill; four sisters, Mary Minor and Ola Mae McCoy, both of Charlotte, Eloise McCoy of Rock Hill and Bessie Adams of Clover; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 6 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.

Viva Tripp

CLOVER - Mrs. Viva Smith Tripp, 70, of 508 McConnell St. died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Yorkwood Church of God in Gastonia, N.C., with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

Mrs. Tripp was a homemaker. She was a member of Yorkwood Church of God, where she was a former church pianist.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene W. Tripp; her daughter, Glenda Tripp Lindsay of Clover; three brothers, Glenn Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn., Leland Smith of Lugoff and Joel Smith of Walterboro; two sisters, Lucille Barker of Clearwater, Fla., and Juanita Wilson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Service, Southside Chapel, in Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clover Rescue Squad, 114 Bethel St., Clover, SC 29710.

Susan White

ROCK HILL - Ms. Susan B. White of 625 N. Wilson St. died Friday, April 17, 1998, in Virginia.

A memorial service and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 30 at Browne Funeral Home in Enfield, Conn.

Surviving are four sons, Howard White of Enfield, Arthur White of Brooklyn, Conn., Stuart White of Suffield, Conn., and David White of Rock Hill; two daughters, Mona Senatro of Enfield and Amy Roman of Ruckersville, Va.; four brothers, Richard Yudysky of New Britain, Conn., Edward Yudysky of Montana, Waddy Yudysky of Myrtle Beach, and Jerry Yudysky of Utah; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Johnny Worthy

CHESTER - The funeral service for Mr. Johnny Worthy, 51, of 2911 Pickney Road in the Wilkesburg Community, who died Friday, April 17, 1998, at Chester County Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Washington officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Worthy was a store operator. He was a member of Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church, a 1964 graduate of Finley High School and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Thundering Angel Motorcycle Club.

Surviving are his wife, Rickki Atkinson Worthy; four sons, Christopher Worthy of the home, Derrick Gladden, Kenvin Worthy and Howard Davis, all of Chester; his daughter, Jonelle Worthy of the home; his sister, Penny Alexander of Charlotte; four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will lie in state at the church at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Denton Funeral Home is in charge.

Edmond Aiton

ROCK HILL - Edmond T. Aiton, 69, of 233 Marion St., died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A cryptside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Richard Hopper officiating.

A native of Enoree and a veteran of the Korean conflict, Mr. Aiton worked as a loom fixer for J.P. Stevens for 40 years.

Surviving are his wife, Eva Aiton; four sons, John Aiton, Edmond T. Aiton and William D. Aiton, all of Rock Hill, and David Lee Aiton of California; two brothers, Oscar Aiton and Rayford Aiton, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Violet Aiton of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Attention Home, P.O. Box 2912 CRS, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Fred Couick

ROCK HILL - Mr. Fred Ezelle Couick, 77, of 648 Walnut St., died Thursday, April 23, 1998, Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Douglas O. Jones officiating.

Mr. Couick was a member of Rogers Memorial A.R.P. Church. He retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. after 40 years service.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle Jacobs Couick; two sons, Jerry W. Couick and Arnold K. Couick, both of Rock Hill; his brother, Jesse Couick of Waxhaw, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Arnold L. Couick, 3623 Enterprise Drive, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to Rogers Memorial ARP Church, 1820 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, S.C. 29730.

Mildred Galloway

ROCK HILL - The funeral service for Mrs. Mildred H. Galloway, 70, of 119 Schoolside Drive who died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at her home will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marshall A. Fant III officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Galloway was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. with more than 40 years of service.

She was the widow of H.L. Herring and Ira Galloway.

Surviving are three sons, Ernest Lee Herring of York, Timothy Edward Herring of Rock Hill and Howard Eugene Herring of Edgemoor; three daughters, Wanda H. Peagler of Lesslie and Ruth Sandra Herring and Barbara Ann Thomas, both of Rock Hill; two brothers, Daniel Boyd of Akron, Ohio and Fred A. Paul of Rock Hill; her sister, Rebecca P. Broome of Fort Mill; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Wanda H. Peagler, 119 Schoolside Drive, Lesslie.
