Nancy Garrison

PINEVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Nancy B. Garrison, 91, died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at Lakeview Living Center.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Flint Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Pineville, Mrs. Garrison was the widow of Paul Garrison. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church fellowship hall.

Memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church general fund, 269 Flint Hill Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel, is in charge.

R. James Wood

ARLINGTON, Va. - Mr. Ronald James "Jimmy" Wood, 44, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Manassas, Va.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mountcastle Funeral Home in Woodbridge, Va., with the Rev. William Mahon officiating. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Manassas.

Mr. Wood worked for many years as a plumber for the Department of the Army at Fort Myer. He was a member of the Manassas Moose Lodge No. 1380.

Surviving are his daughter, Monica J. Hancock of Blacksburg; his parents, James R."Buddy" and Delores M. "Doris" Wood of Manassas; his sister, Robin E. Little of Manassas; and his brother, David C. Wood of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mountcastle Funeral Home in Woodbridge.

Roy Anders

ROCK HILL - Mr. Roy "Buster" Anders of 1010 Carolina Ave. Extension died Monday, May 18, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Gadsden officiating and the Rev. Stephen Love assisting. A private burial will be Saturday at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Anders attended York County public schools. He was a self-employed roofer.

Surviving are two sons, Gary McKee of Charlotte and Vernon McKee of Rock Hill; four brothers, Mack Andrews Jr. and John N. Anders, both of Rock Hill, Dewey W. Andrews of the home, and Donnie R. Anders of Salina, Kan.; four sisters, Bobbie J. Anders and Jane C. Anders, both of the home, Bernice A. Mobley of Rock Hill and Thelma A. Beatty of Roosevelt, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Marion Anderson Jr.

JACKSON, Miss. - Mr. Marion Anderson Jr., 59, formerly of York, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at Memphis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by M.J. Edwards Funeral Home in Jackson.

Wright Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Dorothy Covington

ROCK HILL - The funeral for Mrs. Dorothy Carnes Covington, 88, of 1398 Allison Circle who died Monday, May 18, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center will be 3 p.m. today at Ebenezer ARP Church, with the Revs. Charles Mitchell and Jack Basie officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Covington was a homemaker and a member of the Ebenezer ARP Church, where she was a member of the Second Mile Sunday school class. She was the widow of Clyde H. Covington.

Surviving are two sons, Joe Covington of Rock Hill and Sidney Covington of Charlotte; two daughters, Evelyn C. Griggs and Mamie C. Jackson, both of Rock Hill; her brother, Furman Carnes of Rock Hill; two sisters, Eula C. Garrison of Rock Hill and Alma Lee Mahaffey of Fort Mill; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mamie C. Jackson, 1398 Allison Circle, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to Park Avenue Adult Daycare Center, 359 Park Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to Ebenezer ARP Church, 2132 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

William Dennison

FORT MILL - Mr. William Welch Dennison, 86, of Fort Mill died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at his home.

Burial will be at a later time.

A native of Rawlings, Md., Mr. Dennison was retired from Celanese Corp.

Surviving are his wife, Margurite Merritt Dennison; his son, James Allen Reith of Hopewell, Va.; his sister, Alice Hopkins of Frostburg, Md.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of York County, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Robert Evans

SCRANTON - Mr. Robert B. Evans, 74, of 2125 Church St. died Monday, May 18, 1998, in a Florence hospital.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Brockington Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lake City Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Evans retired from the Charleston Naval Yard in 1966 after 25 years as a nuclear welder and was employed at Superior Machine Co. in Florence until 1980. He was a disabled veteran of World War II and served in the Army in the Pacific Theater and the New Guinea Campaign. He was a member of the Disabled Army Veterans of Charleston, and a Mason of Lodge No. 404 in Florence. He was a member of Paran Baptist Church of Lake City.

Surviving are his wife, Leona Caulder Evans; four sons, Finley C. Evans of Cross, Guy M. Evans of Pamplico, Faron C. Evans of Rock Hill and Carroll G. Evans of Columbia; two daughters, Bobbie Burgamy of Cooper City, Fla., and Joanne Kwasniewski of Savannah, Ga.; three brothers, James D. Evans of Moncks Corner, Finley R. Evans Jr. of Ladson and Merlia E. Evans of York; three sisters, Frances Mason of Summerville, Susie Hudson of Rocks Pond and Elizabeth Matthews of North Charleston; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Paran Baptist Church, 1603 Johnsonville Highway, Lake City, SC 29560.
