Flossie Walker

FORT MILL - Mrs. Flossie Mae Archie Walker, 81, of 559 Roanoke Drive, Fort Mill, died Friday, May 29, 1998 at her home.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Unity Cemetery, with the Revs. Eugene Simpson and Charles Howington officiating.

Born in Fort Mill, Mrs. Walker retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene.

She was the widow of Brady Walker.

Surviving are nine sons, Larry Walker of Rock Hill, Jerry "Sonny" Walker of Lancaster, Raymond Walker and Billy Ray Walker, both of Chester, and Nevin Jack Walker, Tommy Walker, Charles Walker, Richard Walker and Johnny Walker, all of Fort Mill; her daughter, Faye Ann McCammon of Fort Mill; three brothers, Willie Archie of Columbia and David Archie and Johnny Archie, both of Fort Mill; seven sisters, Connie Yarborough of Rock Hill, Pearly Ward of Lancaster and Jessie Funderburk, Rosa Bell Faulkenberry, Lillie May Fite, Margie Brooks and Evelyn Bailey, all of Fort Mill; 30 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home and Sunday after the service at the Family Life Center of the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene.

Memorials may be made to the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, 109 Harris St., Fort Mill, SC 29715 or the Fort Mill Rescue Squad, 216 S. White St., Fort Mill SC 29715.

Virginia Walters

LANCASTER - Mrs. Virginia Taylor Walters, 91, of 4948 Tabernacle Road died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom B. Wilkes III officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Walters was the widow of William Arthur Walters. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Walters and Louie Walters, both of Lancaster; two daughters, Betty Marshall and Jenny Bowers, both of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Tabernacle United Methodist Church music fund, 5908 Tabernacle Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Ray Watts

LANCASTER - Mr. Ray Anderson Watts, 78, of 1826 Lynwood Drive died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral with Masonic rites will be 4 p.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Craig and Bishop Scott Garbett officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Watts was retired from Springs Industries engineering department as an electrician. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 53, The Hejaz Shrine Temple and the Lancaster Commandery Knights Templer. He was a disabled Army veteran and served in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Jessie Hinson Watts; two daughters, Luan Bergstrom and Beth Clark, both of Lancaster; his brother, Glenn R. Watts of Lancaster; two sisters, Willie Mae Spanski and Grace Bowers, both of Lancaster; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the home.

Mack Gilreath Jr.

GREAT FALLS - Mr. Mack D. Gilreath Jr., 72, of 112 Lybrand St. died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug Irvin officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Gilreath was a member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge No. 277 and Great Falls Chapter No. 211 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a ham radio operator. He was formerly employed as a slasher superintendent with J.P. Stevens Co. and later established Gilreath Distributing Co. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Great Falls First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia C. Gilreath; two sons, Mack D. Gilreath III of Simpsonville and Brian D. Gilreath of Columbia; his brother, J.D. Gilreath of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Barbara Holland and Joan Pethel, both of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Lottie Kimbrell

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lottie Faye Hunter Kimbrell, 87, of 517 Walnut St. died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jimmy Holley and Bully Faulkenberry officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kimbrell was a retired nursing assistant at York General Hospital. She was the widow of Louie S. Kimbrell. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Hunter, James Hunter and Chuck Hunter, all of Rock Hill; two daughters, Emma Jean Matras of Rock Hill and Linda Carroll of Little River; two brothers, Elliott Sims and Charlie Sims, both of Heath Springs; two sisters, Eva Brown of Greensboro, N.C., and Shirley Faulkenberry of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Margaret McManus

FORT MILL - Mrs. Margaret Griffin McManus, 90, formerly of Fort Mill, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, in Newport News, Va.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oceola United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Dunn officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. McManus was the widow of George Dewy McManus and had been a resident of Newport News and Hampton, Va., most of her adult life.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Dunn of Greensboro, N.C., and Carol McManus of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Martin Griffin of Kannapolis, N.C., and John Hunter Griffin of Fort Mill; her sister, Dorcas Rebecca "Dot" Helms of Fort Mill; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Oceola United Methodist Church, 6575 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Percy Roach Jr.

CLOVER - Mr. Percy J. Roach Jr., 61, of 915 Cedar Grove Road died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Revs. Wayne Smith and Bill Shytle officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Martinsville, Va.

Mr. Roach was employed as a supervisor at Inland Paperboard and Packaging of Rock Hill.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce A. Roach; his mother, Erma Wray Roach of Richmond, Va.; and his sister, Maggie Wilson of Richmond, Va.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
