Frederick Mack

FORT MILL - Mr. Frederick Nims Mack, 79, of Fort Mill died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Unity Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Holloway officiating.

Mr. Mack was self-employed as a consulting forester. A native of Rock Hill, he was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served in the Army in World War II. He was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church and past Master of the Catawba Masonic Lodge No. 56.

Surviving are his wife, Anne Coile Mack; two sons, Rick Mack of Fort Mill and Donald Mack of Ninety-Six; two daughters, Judy M. Wimmer of Greenville and Laura Hinceman of Fort Mill; two brothers, Murray Mack Jr. of Highland, Fla., and William Mack of Washougal, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the home.

Memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church building fund, 303 Tom Hall Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

L.C. Raines

CHESTER - Mr. L.C. Raines, 70, of 2630 Pathway Lane died Monday, June 1, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Wright's Home for Funerals, with the Rev. Chip Snead officiating and the Rev. William Patrick assisting. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Raines was a retired tree surgeon. He was a native of Cherokee County.

Surviving are his wife, Betty P. Raines; two sons, Leonard C. Raines of Myrtle Beach and Johnny Raines of Chester; two daughters, Dianne Craven and Libby Williford, both of Chester; his brother, Clyde Smith of Charleston; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Center Road, Chester, SC 29706.

Jessie Shelley

FORT MILL - Mrs. Jessie Sue Underwood Shelley, 85, of 102 Walker St. died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Unity Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating.

Mrs. Shelley was the widow of Victor "Bud" Shelley and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shelley was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are her son, Harold Shelley of Fort Mill; two daughters, Libby Neely of Columbia, and Joe Ann Holliman of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 255 S. Highway 21 Bypass, Fort Mill, SC 29715 or to St. John's United Methodist Church, 130 Tom Hall Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

James Showers

CHARLOTTE - Mr. James Daniel "Dan" Showers, 50, of Charlotte died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital.

A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Bellow officiating. Burial will be private.

Mr. Showers was general manager of the Rock Hill Forms Division of Willamette Industries and was a member of the Rock Hill Economic Development Board. He was a past president of Rock Hill Tech Park Property Owners Association.

He was a member of the Family Trust Credit Union advisory board and a member of the steering committee for the Carolina Quality Initiative. He also was a member of Carmel Country Club and the Professional Golf Association. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

A native of DuBois, Pa., he served with the Army Intelligence. He graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, Pa.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Showers; two daughters, Jessica Showers and Katie Showers; his mother, Ann Oven Showers of DuBois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The V Foundation, 1701 Walnut St., Cary, NC 27511.

Harry and Bryant Co., Funeral Directors is in charge.

Rhea von Lehe

WALTERBORO - Mrs. Rhea Williams von Lehe, formerly of York County, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at Columbia Trident Medical Center.

Burial was at Live Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. von Lehe was the widow of Diederich Petermann von Lehe. A native of York County, she was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Winthrop College. She served two terms on the S.C. Tuberculosis Association board. She was a member of the Walterboro Book Club.

Surviving are her son, Dr. D. Petermann von Lehe of Goose Creek; two daughters, Valeria Williams of Augusta, Ga., and Rhea Ashley of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The Fred Parker Funeral Home was in charge.

Jewell Walters

LANCASTER - Mr. Jewell Wesley Walters, 56, of Portland, Ore., formerly of Lancaster, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland.

Memorial service arrangements will be announced by Mahaffey Funeral Home in Lancaster.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Walters was a construction worker.

Surviving are his sister, Freida Blackwell of Lancaster; two brothers, J. D. Walters and Charles L. Walters, both of Lancaster.

Larry White

ROCK HILL - Mr. Larry O'Neal White, 57, of 644 Rockwood Drive died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Miller Funeral Home in Black Mountain, N.C.

Mr. White was a former supervisor at Creative Dyeing in Charlotte.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby White; his son, Timothy White of Rock Hill; two daughters, Barbara White and Pam White, both of Rock Hill; two brothers, Carroll White and Jack White, both of Black Mountain; two sisters, Hazel Triplette of North Wilkesboro, N.C., and Joan Parker of Lexington, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
