Nancy Britt

GARDEN CITY - Mrs. Nancy M Britt, 54, of Garden City, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Malvern Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Britt was retired from civil service and was the owner of Britt Business Service. She was a member of the National Society of Public Accountants, American Society of Military Comptrollers and the National Association of Female Executives.

Surviving are her mother, Nelle Pace Moseley of Camden and Rock Hill; her son, William Joseph Hagins Jr. of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Amanda Maraie Pennington of Rock Hill and Sandra Renee Clifford of Surfside; two brothers, William Pace Moseley of Rock Hill and Robert Capers Moseley of North Augusta; her sister, Suzie Moseley Cantrell of Camden and Myrtle Beach; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 411, Camden, SC 29020.

Helen Bryant

FORT MILL - Mrs. Helen Baily Bryant, 83, of 116 E. Summersby St., died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dan Holloway officiating. Burial will be at 5 p.m. at Montivista Cemetery in Bluefield, W.Va.

Mrs. Bryant attended Concord College in Athens, W.Va., and retired as a school teacher from Bluefield, W.Va. She later moved to Fort Mill, where she was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church and the Fort Mill Golf Club.

Surviving are her husband, John Wesley Bryant Jr.; and her caretaker and friend, Willie Walker of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to the Unity Presbyterian Nutrition Center, P.O. Box 1267, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Ralph Davis

LANCASTER - Mr. Ralph Plyler Davis, 56, of 705 W. Barr St. died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Covenant Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bert Welch officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was a member of Covenant Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Faile Davis; his stepson, David Truesdale of Kershaw; his stepdaughter, Beverly Culp of Lancaster; his mother, Sue Plyer Davis of Lancaster; his brother, Robert Victor "Bob" Davis Jr. of Orangeburg; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist Church, 165 Craig Manor Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Norma Hoffman

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Norma Frances Fuhr Hoffman, 77, of Rock Hill, formerly of Farmington Hills, Mich., died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at home.

The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Hoffman was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the St. Martha's Guild and the YMCA.

Surviving are her husband, Francis G. Hoffman; her daughter, Patricia Hoffman Kostell of Rock Hill; her sister, Evelyn Treutelaar of Niles, Ill.; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today and from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Ruby Holley

KERSHAW - Miss Ruby Holley, 75, of 8 Sierra Court, Columbia, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Pinewood Care Center in Eastover.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, with the Rev. Lewis Gargiulo officiating.

Miss Holley was a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia.

Surviving are three sisters, Claree Hutchinson of Eastover, Mary H. Austin and Bobbie Broach of Columbia.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Karen Hixon, 116 Ballenger Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, Route 1, Box 236-B, Jefferson, SC 29718.

Willie McMullen

CATAWBA - The Rev. Willie J. "Billy" McMullen, 55, of 227 Harmony Hill Drive died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Foundation AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Daran Mitchell officiating. The Right Rev. Joseph Johnson will give the eulogy. The Revs. W. O. Thompson, Carl A. Glenn, Mary L. Adams, Charles Crockett and Leroy Ellison will assist. Burial will be in the Rehoboth AME Zion Church cemetery.

The Rev. McMullen was the former pastor of Indian Hill AME Zion Church. He joined the Rehoboth AME Zion Church at an early age and later joined Foundation AME Zion Church and Center Emmanuel AME Zion Church. He was a former textile supervisor at Manetta Mills in Lando, where he was employed more than 20 years. He was a 1963 graduate of Finley High School. He attended Teamers School of Religion and York Technical College.

Surviving are his wife, Mary F. McMullen; three daughters, Jaqueline Moore and Tiffany Moore, both of the home, and Deborah Howze of Rock Hill; his sisters, Betty Jean Peay of Chester; two brothers, Thaddeus McFadden of Charlotte and Columbus Nathaniel Peay of Chester; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at King's Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Monday.

Eugene Rambert

CHESTER - Mr. Eugene "Gene" Rambert, 61, of 709 Saluda St. died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Brown's Chapel AME Zion Church, with the Rev. O.L. Smith officiating and the Revs. Moses Lightner, Jesse Peay and Charles Pratt assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Rambert was a Chester native. He was a member of Brown's Chapel AME Zion Church. He was a volunteer fireman in Chester County. He was a former employee of Chester Metropolitan Water District. He was a plumber and roofer.

Surviving are three sons, John Rambert and Earl Eugene Elam, both of Chester, and Quincy Lamont Caldwell of York; five brothers, Derry Rambert Jr. of Jamaica, N.Y., Leroy Rambert and David Rambert, both of Chester, Alex Rambert of Chester, Pa., and Jesse L. Rambert of Elizabeth, N.J.; five sisters, Dorothy M. Jennings of Rock Hill, Viola Washington, Lorenda Rambert, Alvenia Kennedy and Anna Gladney, all of Chester; and 11 grandchildren.

The body will be taken to the church at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The family will receive friends at the home of John and Evette Rambert, 108 Lowry St., Chester.

King's Funeral Home is in charge.
