Johnie Cabe

ELLENBORO, N.C. - Mr. Johnie Ray Cabe, 64, of 216 Dobbinsville Road died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Henrietta First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Trey Gilliam officiating. Burial will be at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Cabe was a native of York County. He was an U.S. Army veteran and owner and operator of J&J Rugs.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Dobbins Cabe; five daughters, Vicki Deaton of Clover, Lola Walser of Lexington, N.C., Nancy Hopper of San Diego, Calif., Mary Jo Poole of Ellenboro, N.C., and Cindy Byers of Rutherfordton, N.C.; his brother, Joe Cabe of York; two sisters, Betty Rumfelt and Ruby Wallace, both of York; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Harrelson Funeral Home in Caroleen, N.C. is in charge.

Dollie Sullivan

KERSHAW - Mrs. Dollie Harp Sullivan, 96, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Buffalo Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bill Morris, Ed Taylor and Clarence Allen officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, where she attended the Faithful Workers Sunday school class.

Surviving are two sons, Isaac S. Sullivan of Kershaw and Ralph Sullivan of Lancaster; six daughters, Margaret S. Truesdale of Camden, Clarine Ogburn and Cora Lee Newman, both of Bethune, Grace Hoffstein of Scranton, Helen Horton of Jefferson and Loretta Belk of Kershaw; 33 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Bill and Cora Lee Newman, 5013 Newman Road, Bethune.

Memorials may be made to to White Oak Manor, 253 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Reola Walker

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Reola Williams Walker, 71, 668 Stonewall Court died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Park Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Walker was a member of Park Baptist Church, where she served as director of the Women's Missionary Union and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was retired from Hoescht Celanese Corp., where she worked in the beaming department.

Surviving are her husband, Edward R. Walker; two daughters, Teresa Cook of Charleston, W. Va., and Catherine Cranford of Columbia; two sisters, Mildred W. Bart and Helen Thomas, both of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Park Baptist Church, 717 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Donald Anderson

RIVER HILLS - Mr. Donald Carl Anderson, 79, of 30 Catawba Ridge Court died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at home.

The funeral service will be announced. Arrangements are being handled by York Funeral Home.

He was retired from U.S. Steel Corp., where he was a district manager in the Cyclone Fence division. He was a member of River Hills Community Church.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Lions International for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Good Neighbors Pantry in Clover and the River Hills Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. Mr. Anderson was a major in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Braude Anderson; a son, Harry Lewis Anderson of Gallatin, Tenn.; a brother, Richard Anderson of Opa Locka, Fla.; two sisters, Louise A. Dietmeger of Waukegan, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton's Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.

Essie Farnell

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Essie Wiedenman Farnell, of 2342 Winter Crest Drive died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene Fuller officiating.

Mrs. Farnell was elected to two terms as Secretary of State of South Dakota.

Surviving are her husband, L.B. Farnell; two daughters, Jeanne Waddell of Rock Hill and Sharon Criswell of Florida; two sons, Dr. Thomas Wiedenman of Teaneck, N.J., and William Farnell of Sequim, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Bass Funeral Home is in charge.

Olivia James

Chester - Mrs. Olivia Griffin "Shine" James, 83, of 859 Beechwood Drive died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Gregory Keller, Harold Liner and Greg Pressley officiating. Burial will be at the Chester Memorial Gardens.

Born in Pineville, N.C., Mrs. James was a homemaker and member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was the widow of Calvin E. James.

Surviving are her daughter, Judy Helms of Chester; two sons, Gerald James of Chester and Jimmy James of Inman; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of Nazarene, Family Life Center, 182 Pinckney St., Chester, SC 29706.

Thomas McGuire

ROCK HILL - Mr. Thomas Clarence McGuire, 60, of 1099 Grier McGuire Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Greene Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Ron Roddey officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. Masonic rituals will be conducted at 6:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. McGuire was a member of Riverview Presbyterian Church. He was self-employed. He was a member of Rock Hill Lodge #111 A.F.M., Hejaz Shrine Temple and the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies. He was a honary member of Omar Shrine Temple. Mr. McGuire was past president of Crescent Shrine Club.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Faile McGuire; two daughters, Myrna McGuire Baker and Jean Tant, both of Rock Hill; three brothers, Perry McGuire and Frank McGuire, both of Rock Hill, and Jerry McGuire of Fort Mill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
