Napoleon Young

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Napoleon J. Young, 84, of 3235 Ross Ave., formerly of Chester, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at Reeder Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, with the Rev. C. Don Steger officiating. Burial will be at Williamsville AME Zion Church in Chester.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Long and Son Mortuary is in charge.

Denton Funeral Home in Chester is in charge of local arrangements.

Hunter Adams

ROCK HILL - Mr. Hunter Milbourne Adams, 95, of 2341 Tribal Road died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Ebenezer Nursing Center.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jim Spencer and the Rev. Eddie Usher officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Adams was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was the widower of Eula Mae Sowell Adams.

Surviving are three sons, Cecil Adams, Joseph Adams and Thomas Lee Adams, all of Lancaster; his daughter, Mrs. J.W. "Betty Jean" Pittman of Lancaster; two brothers, Mr. Baxter Adams and Mr. Manley "Nap" Adams, both of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his daughter, 2752 Lyndell Way, Sherwood Acres, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church building fund, 1426 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to the charity of one's choice.

Daniel Bradley

ROCK HILL - Daniel Jordan Bradley, the infant son of Leonard and Sherry Moore Bradley of 2956 Eastview Road died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at his home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Glen Self officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Donnie Bradley of the home; his maternal grandparents, Rudy and Sharon Moore of Rock Hill; his paternal grandmother, Helen Bradley of Rock Hill; and his maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Moore Sr. of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home.

Wayland Brown Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Wayland Clayton Brown Sr., 57, of 1350 Lakehurst Drive died Friday, June 19, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Adnah United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Leonhardt officiating and the Rev. Jack Brown assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Greene City, Tenn., Mr. Brown was employed for more than 25 years at Springs Industries as a tax accountant. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda H. Brown; two daughters, Rena Hood of Rock Hill and Vicki Brown of Myrtle Beach; his mother, Nellie B. Gauch of West Manchester, Ohio; two sisters, Joyce Via of Germantown, Ohio, and Barbara Bogle of Katy, Texas; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be sent to York County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 4975, Rock Hill, SC 29731.

Michael Elton

YORK - Mr. Michael Robert "Rooster" Elton, 36, of 268 Daves Road died Wednesday, June 17, 1998.

A memorial service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Cremains Garden of the Grace Lutheran Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. E. Ray Mohrmann officiating. Interment will follow.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Elton was a self-employed sheetrock installer and was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are his mother, Carolyn M. Betz of York; his stepfather, George Betz of York; and his sister, Nancy Loughney of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

John Flenniken

CHESTER - Mr. John Harvey "Bud" Flenniken, 63, of 211 Brendale Drive died Friday, June 19, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, with Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating.

A graduate of Chester High School, Mr. Flenniken was owner and operator of Chester Fabricating. He was a member of Chester A.R.P. Church and served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Doris B. Flenniken of the home; his sister, Pat F. Gregory of Rock Hill; and four cousins with whom he was raised, David L. Flenniken, Elizabeth F. Levister, Sarah F. Wynn and Alex Flenniken, Jr., all of Chester.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Chester ARP Church, P.O. Box 174, Chester, SC 29706 or to the Chester Baptist Association, 173 N. Main St., Richburg, SC 29729.

James Wessinger

CHESTER - Mr. James Edward Wessinger, 50, of 627 Still St. died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at his home.

A graveside service will be 5 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. William Heustess officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Mr. Wessinger was retired from the S.C. Department of Transportation. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his brother, Joe Wessinger of Batesburg-Leesville; and his sister, Margaret W. Fetner of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Eloise Wessinger, 1879 Cochran Bypass, Chester.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 477, Chester, SC 27706.
