Martha Farmer

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Martha Faris Farmer died Feb. 8, 1999, at White Oak Manor.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Sharon Memorial Park, with the Rev. Earle D. Roberts officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Farmer was a graduate of Winthrop College. She was a long-time volunteer at Alexander Children's Center. During her 29 years service there, she served the Ladies Auxiliary as treasurer, vice president, president and representative to the board of directors. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Bernice Divine Farmer Jr.; her son Bernice Divine Farmer III of Charlotte; her daughter, Jane Farmer Fastje of Matthews; and five grandchildren.

Leroy Ferguson

YORK - Mr. Leroy Hafner "Roy" Ferguson, 75, of 852 Mason Dickson Road died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Sharon, with the Rev. Dr. James McGill and the Rev. Bob Sprinkle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Ferguson was a retired self-employed electrician and a member of Temple Presbyterian Church in America in York. He repaired and restored antique clocks.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Burgess Ferguson; three daughters, Jean Ferguson Watts of Belmont, N.C., Christine "Teenie" Ferguson Sexton of Clover and Agnes "Aggie" Ferguson Mackey of York; two brothers, the Rev. Charles O. Ferguson of Greenville and Holmes Roberts of Hickory Grove; his sister, Margie Roberts Brown of York; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church fellowship hall and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Temple Presbyterian Church in America building fund, P.O. Box 733, York SC 29745.

Julian Miller

CLOVER - Mr. Julian Miller, 74, of 101 Killian Circle died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Faith Baptist Church in Clover, with the Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was a Navy veteran of World War II with commendation by the C.O., American Theater, Asiatic Pacific 3 Stars and Philippine Liberation 2 Stars. He served aboard the NTS Bainbridge, USS Cabot and USS General George O. Squier. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Olivene Dixon Miller; three sons, Dr. David Miller of Nashville, Tenn., Sam Miller of Hillsboro, N.C., and Tom Miller of Clover; three brothers, Fred Miller of Clairmont, Fla., and Berry Lee Miller and Phillip Miller, both of Lockhart; two sisters, Bernice Love of Chester and Laura Garner of Lockhart; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Faith Baptist Church and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Highway 321, Clover, SC 29710.

Greene Funeral Service, Southside Chapel, in Gastonia, N.C., is in charge.

Richard Rowland Jr.

YORK - Mr. Richard "Richie" Rowland Jr., 19, of 3115 Ferguson Long Road died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church in Sharon, with the Revs. John Cody and Sid Shuford officiating. Burial will be at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Rowland was employed with Belden Wire and Cable in Fort Mill and he was a 1997 graduate of Clover High School.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Ann Clinton Rowland of the home; his parents, Richard E. and Jodie S. Rowland of the home; two brothers, Davy Rowland and Johnny Rowland, both of the home; his paternal grandparents, George and Dorothy Rowland of York; his maternal grandparents, David and Faye Collins of Fort Mill; and his maternal great-grandmother, Maggie Collins of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover.

Memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church, Sutton Springs Road, Sharon, SC 29742.

Claude Wylie

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Claude Wylie of 1005 N. Brook St. died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Martin's Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Charlie Cannon officiating. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mr. Wylie was a native of York and joined Galilee Baptist Church in York at an early age. He was a retired Merita Bakery employee

Surviving are his brother, Frank Wylie of Philadelphia; and two sisters, Elizabeth Wylie Lowery of the home and Veola Wylie Johnson of York.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Martins Funeral Home.

Berinitha Armstrong

ROCK HILL - Ms. Berinitha Ann Armstrong, 39, of 289 Blanche Circle died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at her home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright Funeral Home in York.

James Bruner

CLOVER - Mr. James William Bruner, 76, of 100 Clover Brook Drive died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, N.C., with the Rev. Wiley Baines officiating.

Mr. Bruner was an Army veteran of World War II and the widower of Cammie Gibson Bruner.

Surviving are his son, J.W. Bruner of Tennessee; two sisters, Ellamae Vandergriff and Dorothy Easterday, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; special friends who were his caretakers, Patricia A. and Walter R. Pitts of the home, Ashley and Brian Parker of Clover, Pam Carson of Gastonia, N.C., and Melody Wellmon of Lincolnton, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Service, Southside Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, N.C.
