Ralph Ray

LANCASTER - Mr. Ralph Alexander "Toby" Ray, 67, of 763 Dixie School Road died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at home.

The funeral Mass will be 4 p.m. Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, with Father William Pentis officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Ray served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired from Lehigh Steel - Thomas & Betts Steel Fabrication, where he worked for 27 years. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie Fratnik Ray; two daughters, Linda Kay Ray of the home and Sharan A. Ray of Lancaster; and his grandchild.

The vigil service will be 6:30 Sunday and the family will receive friends afterward from 7 to 9 at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Catherine Catholic Church building fund, 720 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720 or to HomeCare Hospice of Lancaster, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Robert Reeder

ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Lee "Bob" Reeder, 75, of 626 Center St. died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles S. Sanders Sr. officiating and the Revs. John T. Crowley and Charles S. Sander Jr. assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Reeder was a brick mason and during his career mentored many young brick masons. He was educated in the public schools of York County and Friendship Junior College. He attended North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C., where he lettered as an all-CIAA football athlete. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the deacon board.

He was a member of Sons of Light No. 61, Menzel Temple No. 35, and Sterling Lodge No. 344, where he was a member of the Mabel L. Green Fez Club, Past Grand Exalted Ruler Council, chairman of the House Committee for 15 years, trustee for the S.C. State Association and a Grand District Deputy.

Surviving are his wife, Dycie "Dot" Reeder, two daughters, B. Lynne Reeder of Athens, Ga., Lisa Reeder Benjamin of Rock Hill; three sons, J. Robert Reeder of Silver Spring, Md., Kenneth J. Reeder and W. Stanley Reeder, both of Rock Hill; three sisters, Louise Hoover and Alberta Allen, both of Salisbury, N.C., and Johnnie Mae Wiley of Baltimore; two brothers, the Rev. James T. Reeder of Burgess, Va. and Jessie Lee McMoore of Rock Hill; and eight grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m Sunday at the funeral home. At 2 p.m., the family will receive friends at the church.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Doris Burns

GREENVILLE - Doris "Dot" Stella Burns, 67, of 104 Coleman Court died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at home.

The service will be 3:30 p.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.

Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Elgin of Chester and Debbie Griffith of Greenville; two sons, Thomas Edward and John Edward, both of Greenville; her sister, Chris Cooper of Greenville; two brothers, Harold Cobb of Florida and Andy Cobb of Greenville; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Thomas McAfee Funeral Home of Greenville will be handling the arrangements.

Isaiah Byrd-Felder

CLOVER - Isaiah Ali Byrd-Felder, the infant son of Suzette Byrd and Jarvis Felder of Clover, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Generation Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Marie Crook

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Elizabeth Marie Fletcher Crook, 68, of Rock Hill, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Baptist Church, with Dr. Robert Shrum and the Rev. Shelton Timmerman officiating. Burial will be at the Crook Family burial site in Bellevue, Texas, on Thursday following a graveside service.

Mrs. Crook was born in Kerrville, Texas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater from the University of Texas in 1955. She retired from Winthrop University in 1995, after 18 years working in the graduate school office and the registrar's office. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and had been a member of the Oakland Baptist Choir.

Surviving are her husband, James F. Crook of Rock Hill, her son, Richard Kynan Crook of New Hampshire, and her sister, Eleanor Schram of Texas.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Park Avenue Adult Day Care Center, 359 Park Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Gladys Faulkenberry

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Gladys Molene Chapman Faulkenberry, 80, formerly of Fort Mill, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Riley officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Forest City, N.C.

Mrs. Faulkenberry was born in Rutherfordton County, N.C. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Raymond Faulkenberry.

Surviving are her caretaker and cousin, Faye Woods of Kings Mountain, N.C., and several nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday at Wolfe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 121 Monroe White St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Worth Nicholson

FORT MILL - Mr. Worth Baxter Nicholson, 70, of 18 Rea Circle died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at home.

A memorial service will be held privately.

Mr. Nicholson was born in Wadesboro, N.C., and was retired from the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha Nicholson of Magnolia, Del.; two daughters, Wendy King of Chinquapin, N.C., and Annette Nicholson of Charleston; and two sisters, Julia Oliver of Florence, Miss., and Rachel Stewart of Matthews, N.C.

Wolfe Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
