Arnold Anderson

CLOVER - Mr. Arnold Charles Anderson, 80, of 2996 Henry Knob Road died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakview Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, N.C., with the Revs. Ralph Sparrow and Robbie Moore officiating. Burial will be at Oakview Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Alcola, Tenn., Mr. Anderson was an Army veteran. He was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Oakview Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Willie Mae Bailey Anderson; his son, Walter Lee Anderson of Clover; two daughters, Mary Jernigan of Montgomery, Ala., and Catherine Wood of Gastonia; three brothers, Leonard Anderson of Kings Mountain, Mack Anderson of Gastonia and Boyd Anderson of Newton, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Oakview Baptist Church Parsonage Fund.

Bertha Bowlin

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Bertha Vaughn Bowlin, 93, of 261 S. Herlong Ave. died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Beverly Health Care Center.

Burial was at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Bowlin was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her stepdaughter, Mary Franklin of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Cornerstone UMC, 2697 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Bass Funeral Home was in charge.

Alfred Dyson

LANCASTER - Mr. Alfred Thompson Dyson, 76, of 104 Roberts Drive died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Dorn V.A. Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of York County, Mr. Dyson was a veteran of both the Army and the Navy. He had been employed by Josyln Clark Control and was a member of D.A.V. and Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Cleo Dyson Odom of Hartsville and Lois Dyson Baker of Winnsboro; four half-sisters, Irene Poston and Geraldine Gill, both of Florence, Magalene McDaniel of Lake City and Betty Cribb of Darlington; two foster brothers, Marvin Miles and Earl Miles both of Lancaster; his foster sister, Myrtle Miles Stogner of Lancaster; and two stepdaughters, Jean Johnson of Athens, Ga., and Shirley Ann Segars of Aiken; and two special friends, Julian and Dorothy Rollings of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church building fund.

Lucille Elliott

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Lucille Hall Elliott, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at her home.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Service, 5301 Albemarle Road. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Elliott was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church and the White Shrine. She retired after working many years with the Federal Reserve Bank. She lived in Rock Hill for several years.

Surviving are her son, Durrow Curtis Hall Jr.; her grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kathleen Farris

CLOVER - Mrs. Ercel Kathleen Farris, 76, of 108 Columbia St. died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clover ARP Church, with the Rev. Rob Patrick officiating. Burial will be at Bethany ARP Church cemetery.

A native of Concord, N.C., Mrs. Farris was retired from Klear Knit Inc. and was a member of Clover ARP Church.

Surviving are her husband, John S. Farris; her son, Frank Farris of Clover; two daughters, Carol Norman Hope of Gastonia and Rickey Norman Hoover of Orange Park, Fla.; her brother, Carl Trull of Fort Mill; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Clover Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 214, Clover, SC 29710.

Mamie Stevenson

CHESTER - Miss Mamie Catherine Stevenson, 54, of 3127 Lyles Road died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rehoboth AME Zion Church, with the Rev. W.H. Woods Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A Chester native, Miss Stevenson was a member of the Rehoboth AME Zion Church. She attended Chester County public schools and was a domestic worker.

Surviving are her mother, Hazelean Stevenson of the home; four brothers, John Willie Stevenson Jr. and Charles Stevenson, both of Chester, Horace Stevenson of Richburg and Bobby Stevenson of Catawba; and four sisters, Stella McCrorey and Shirley Strong, both of the home, Essie Beaty of Chester and Ellen McCullough of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at King's Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Skyler Hasley

ROCK HILL - Skyler Alexis Hasley, the infant daughter of Tamerone E. Hasley, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.
