Sarah Edwards

FORT MILL - Mrs. Sarah Susan Sigmon Edwards, 75, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at McEwen Funeral Service in Pineville, N.C.,

Born in Iredell County, N.C., Mrs. Edwards graduated from Newell High School and worked at Hudson Hosiery and Belk, as a cosmetics and silver manager. She helped open the Southpark Belk.

She later helped her husband, Bill, with his painting business.

Surviving are her husband; her son, Darren Edwards of Fort Mill; her daughter, Sandra H. Helms of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the service.

This afternoon and this evening, the family will be at the home of her daughter, Sandra and Ray Helms of Fort Mill.

Memorials may be sent to The American Heart Association.

Carl Gregory

CHESTER - Mr. Carl Eugene Gregory, 65, of 1635 Millwood Road died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Wilksburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. Elton Hunter officiating. Internment will follow in the Wilksburg Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Gregory was a member of the Wilksburg Baptist Church and was retired from the construction business.

Surviving are two brothers, Jack Gregory and Otis Gregory, both of Chester; and four sisters, Helen Gregory, Ruth Gregory, Thelma Millwood and Lucille Gaston, all of Chester.

Wright's Home for Funerals is in charge.

Mabel Jubrey

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Mabel Jubrey, of 807 Log Cabin Road died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home in Rock Hill.

Charles McCallum

CHESTER - Mr. Charles Hugh "Slim" McCallum, 69, of 2061 Calvary Church Road died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Leeds Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Roddey officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McCallum was a retired mechanic for the Celanese Corp. He was a member of Leeds Baptist Church and a graduate of Chester High School. He was an U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Louise H. McCallum; and his brother, Ralph McCallum of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Leeds Baptist Church, 3231 Leeds Road, Carlisle, SC 29031.

Elliott Miller

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Elliott Miller, 66, of 1416 Parkwood Ave. died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2:30 pm. Sunday at Long & Son Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. George Lowery officiating. Burial will be at Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are four sisters, Janie Wallace and Wilma Wilkes, both of Fort Mill, Alice Gilmore of Rock Hill and Grace Neal of Charlotte; three brothers, Henry Miller of Rock Hill, Hosea Miller of Charlotte and Benjamin Miller of Lanham, Md.; and his special companion, Carrie Bell Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Long & Son Mortuary Chapel.

Joseph Queen

YORK - Mr. Joseph Lee Queen, 74, of 4 Blackburn St. died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Morning Star Free Will Baptist Church in Clover, with the Rev. Bruce Kiser officiating and the Rev. Phil Lemmons assisting. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

A native of Jackson County, N.C., Mr. Queen was a retired card tender from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills in York and a member of the Morning Star Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Rolland Queen; five sons, Ronnie Queen and Jackie Queen, both of York, Bobby Queen of Clover, Tommy Queen of Charlotte, and Leon Queen of Bryson City, N.C.; five daughters, Debra Q. Meek, Patrica Q. White and Sonja Q. Robbins, all of York, Alice Q. Kiser of Clover, and Darlene Q. Dover of Dallas, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Maxine Hicks, Nancy Hicks and Vernon Hicks, all of Bluefield, W.Va.; three sisters, Ruth Crisler of Charlotte, Betty Day of Fairview, N.C., and Mary Sandburg of New York City; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Morning Star Free Will Baptist Church, 2192 Meadow Road, Clover, S.C. 29710.

Charlie Potts

FORT MILL - Mr. Charlie Potts, 60, of 9B-11 Steele Circle, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at Catawba Community Care Home in Catawba.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Big Pineville African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Charlotte, with the Rev. Monroe Culp officiating and the Rev. Olsie Culp assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Potts was a former employee of D.C. Godfrey Co. He was a member of Big Pineville African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. He was educated in the York County public schools.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Johnson Potts; two sisters, Viola Potts Hood of Charlotte and Lina Potts of Fort Mill; two brothers, J.P. Dixon of Fort Mill and Boy Frances Potts of Greensboro, N.C.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. today at the church and at other times at the home.

The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to noon today at Parker Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. today.
