Judith Threatt
ROCK HILL - Ms. Judith Anne Smith Threatt, 53, of 1232 Eisenhower Road died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Broughton officiating and the Rev. Larry Nunn assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
Ms. Threatt was a nurse's aide at York General Hospital. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church and its TEAL Sunday School class and Joy Group.
Surviving are her mother, Ethel McSwain Smith of the home.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.
Memorials maybe made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 312, Columbia, SC 29204; or to College Park Baptist Church, 1209 Eisenhower Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Annie Varnadore
CHESTER - Mrs. Annie Black Varnadore, 90, formerly of Chester, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at Meadow Haven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Chester Memorial Gardens, with the Revs. William Heustess and Donald Scoggins officiating.
A native of Chester, Mrs. Varnadore was retired from Springs Industries. She was the widow of Alpheus B. Varnadore and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She attended Chester County schools.
Surviving are her daughter, Doris V. Mobley of Chester; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Ronnie and Janice Atkinson, 874 Davis Drive, Chester.
Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

Lenora Bliss
FORT MILL - Mrs. Lenora Lovelace Bliss, 66, of 1515 Hensley Road died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Indian Land Baptist Church with the Revs. Benny Green and Thomas Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
Mrs. Bliss was a retired seamstress for Alisa Mills in Waxhaw, N.C., and a member of Indian Land Baptist Church. She was the widow of Arthur Edward Bliss.
Surviving are her son, Terry Floyd of Boiling Springs, N.C.; two daughters, Patsy Lace of Leesburg, Fla. and Tammy Clemmons of Fort Mill; two brothers, Kenneth Lovelace and James Lovelace, both of Bostic, N.C.; and her sister, Martha Waters of Bostic, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the church and at other times at the home.
Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Willard Brown
ROCK HILL - Mr. Willard E. Brown, 71, of 4208 Malone Place died Thursday, July 2, 1998 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.

Marion Canupp Sr.
SHARON - Mr. Marion Frazier Canupp Sr., 77, of 8597 Oak Tree Road died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Sam Hoyt and James Gilchrist officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Canupp was a member of Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church. He was retired from the Milliken Co., Lockhart Plant.
Surviving are two sons, John D. Canupp of York and Jim D. Canupp Sr. of Sharon; three daughters, Ann C. Cromer of Lockhart, Betty C. Blackwell of Blacksburg, and Shirley C. McDaniel of Hickory Grove; two sisters, Evelyn C. Elkins and Rosa C. Black, both of York; and eight grandchildren.
The body is at the home, 8597 Oak Tree Road, and will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. today.
Memorials may be made to Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery fund, c/o Mary Sadler, 1575 Highway 97, Sharon, SC 29742.

Walter Darnell
ROCK HILL - Mr. Walter Wilson Darnell, 63, of Rock Hill died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Davis officiating. Burial will be at Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Darnell was an U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the James K. Polk Lodge No. 759 and the Oasis Temple. He was a member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church. He was employed at Winthrop University, where he was in charge of heating and air conditioning.
Surviving are his wife, Frances T. Darnell; two daughters, Beverly Eury of Harrisburg, N.C. and Valarie Norwood of Richmond, Va.; his mother, Edna O. Darnell of Charlotte; two brothers, Olin Darnell of Weddington, N.C. and Jack Darnell of Clewiston, Fla.; two stepsons, G. David Johnson of Atlanta and G. Kenneth Johnson of Rock Hill; four grandchildren and seven stepgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today at McEwen Funeral Home Pineville Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the James K. Polk building fund, P.O. Box 1043, Pineville, NC 28134.

Delgratia Hardin
ROCK HILL - Ms. Delgratia Hardin, 43, of 2312 Hoke Lane, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was the daughter of Elliott and Mildred Duncan Smith of Rock Hill. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was employed at Celanese.
The funeral will be private. The family will receive friends at the home, 2312 Hoke Lane.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two brothers, Terry Smith and Morris Smith, both of Rock Hill; and four sisters, Karen Smith and Dianne Finch, both of Rock Hill, Phyllis Kirkland of Catawba and Peggy R. Smith of Atlanta.
Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Nellie Horne
YORK - Mrs. Nellie Haney Horne, 70, of 3585 Hands Mill Road died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Pine Grove Baptist Church at Lake Wylie, with the Rev. Jerry Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren in Tryon, N.C.
Mrs. Horne was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Howard E. Horne; her son, Ernest Hoyt Horne of York; her daughter, Vonda H. Wallace of York; her brother, James E. Haney of York; her sister, Polly H. Sanders of Rock Hill; and her grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church building fund, 5415 Highway 557, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.

Charles Jenkins
YORK - Mr. Charles Wesley Jenkins, 78, died Monday, June 29, 1998 in Ridgeland.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Z.B. Wells officiating. Burial will be at New Home AME Zion Church.
Mr. Jenkins was a retired tailor.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Jenkins of Alexandria, Va.; his daughter, Charlene Bates of Alexandria, Va.; his brother, the Rev. C.J. Jenkins of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of the Rev. C.J. Jenkins, 1082 Allendale Circle, Rock Hill.

Sara Owens
CLOVER - Mrs. Sara Frances Bush Owens, 69, of Clover died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at her home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Huntersville, N.C., with the Rev. Elwood Seamster officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte.
Mrs. Owens was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur Ray Owens Sr. of Clover; two sons, Tommy Bush and Sammy Bush, both of Lancaster; three daughters, Kay Vignola and Donnice Neely, both of Rock Hill, and Faye Pressley of Myrtle Beach; two stepsons, Arthur Ray Owens Jr. and Billy Wayne Owens; three stepdaughters, Amelia Quesenbury, Wanda Ramsey and Phyllis Watson; two brothers, Lonnie Lovern and Melvin Lovern, both of Fort Mill; her sister, Mildred Robinson of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
