Irwin Livingston

FORT MILL - Mr. Irwin "Ducky" Livingston, 49, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship, with the Revs. Lucky Earls, Gregg Martin and Mike Worf officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Blacksburg.

Mr. Livingston was owner of the House of Fireworks in Fort Mill. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Worf Livingston; his son, Cory of Boulder, Colo.; his daughter, Angel of Fort Mill; two brothers, Ernest Gerald Livingston of Blacksburg and Allen Rubin Livingston of Mount Pleasant; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at White Columns Funeral Service in Blacksburg and at other times at the home of Ernest Livingston, 623 Batchelor Drive, Blacksburg.

Memorials may be made to Duke Medical Center, Liver Transplant Unit, Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27710.

Geneva Mackey

LANCASTER - Mrs. Geneva Lynn Mackey, 88, of 614 Hart St. died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elton Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Mackey was a homemaker and a member of West Side Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Jack Mackey of Lancaster; two sisters, Nannie Mae Baker and Willie Funderburk, both of Lancaster, four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 2066 Airport Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Fred McCullough

CHARLOTTE - The Rev. Fred Allen McCullough died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Walls Memorial AME Zion Church, 2722 Bancroft St., with the Rev. Sheldon Shipman officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. McCullough was pastor of Steele Creek AME Zion Church from 1978 until his retirement in 1990. He was pastor of Paradise AME Zion in Great Falls from 1976 until 1978.

The Rev. McCullough was educated in York County public schools, graduating from Emmett Scott High School. He attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte. He graduated from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, N.C. He was a Navy veteran. He joined Foundation AME Zion Church at an early age and later joined Walls Memorial AME Zion Church, where he served as superintendent of Sunday school and preacher's steward.

Surviving are his wife, Jean M. McCullough; three daughters, Cheryl J. McCullough and M. Yvonne McCullough, both of Charlotte, and Cynthia McCullough Russell of Rock Hill; his brother, Joe Nathan McCullough of High Point, N.C.; three sisters, Sadie Washington of Thomasville, N.C., Bettye McCullough Evans of Greensboro, N.C., and Lois McCullough Parker of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Long & Son Mortuary Service, 2312 Beatties Ford Road.

Gene Medlin

NORLINA, N.C. - Mr. Gene Davis Medlin, 57, of Warren County, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Maria Parham Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blaylock Funeral Home, with the Revs. Gil Wise and Jim Bailey officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be at Wise Cemetery.

Mr. Medlin was former fire chief of Norlina Fire Department and an auxiliary policeman. He was an auto mechanics teacher at Warren County High School. He was a member of the Shriner's Francis S. Packard Lodge No. 630, where he was past master. He was a member of the Eastern Star and the Warren County Rescue Squad.

Surviving are his wife, Gayle N. Medlin; two sons, Charles D. Medlin of Middleburg, N.C., and Wayne Gene Medlin of Norlina; five brothers, Wayne Medlin of Richmond, N.C., Charles Medlin of Norlina, Julius "Jay" Medlin of Ridgeway, N.C., Mike Medlin of Henderson, N.C. and Ronnie Poythress of Richmond; his sister, Elaine Louthan of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Mullis

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH - Mrs. Elizabeth H. Mullis, 96, died Monday Jan. 18, 1999, at Myrtle Beach Manor.

The graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, with the Rev. Dr. Harold M. Mitchell officiating.

A native of Chester, Mrs. Mullis was the widow of Ernest D. Mullis. She and her husband operated Mullis Market in Rock Hill for 30 years. For more than 45 years, she was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She most recently was a member of First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach.

Surviving are three daughters, Jerri Allen of North Myrtle Beach, Mickie Cushman of Greenville and Christina M. Shedden of Vacaville, Calif.; her brother, E.M. "Zip" Hanna of Pickens; two sisters, Eloise Ozment of Monroe, N.C., and Jenelle Helms of Chester; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, 200 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29579 or to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Minneapolis, MN 55404.

Beulah Conner

YORK - Mrs. Beulah Robinson Conner, 96, of 610 O'Steen Road died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at West End Baptist Church, with the Revs. Mike Lowery and Claude Dick officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Conner was a member of West End Baptist Church and was retired from Arcade Mills. She was the widow of Charlie Franklin Conner.

Surviving are two sons, J.V. Conner of York and Charles Conner, Jr. of Ontario, Calif.; three daughters, Mildred Tucker of Lesslie, Mary Adkins of Fort Mill and Ruby Phillips of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ruby Phillips, 2277 Wintercrest Drive, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church building fund, 1727 McConnell Highway, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Helena Grant

FORT MILL - Mrs. Helena "Lee" Claudette Roy Grant, 58, of 593 Abode Lane died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Independent Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jason Coley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Grant was a homemaker and member of Independent Bible Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Donald W. Grant; two sons, Kenneth William Grant of the home and Kevin Owen Grant of Fort Mill; her brother, Raymond Roy of Manchester, N.H.; her sister, Doris David of Manchester; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Independent Bible Baptist Church, 17025 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, NC 28277 or Muscular Dystrophy Association Regional Office, 1515 Mockingbird Lane, Charlotte, NC 28209.
