Alma Mahaffey

FORT MILL - Mrs. Alma Lee Carnes Mahaffey, 87, of 2425 Coltharp Road died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Revs. Lewis Bozard, Paul Harmon and Mary Frances Lynch officiating.

Mrs. Mahaffey was a native of Rock Hill and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was an honorary life member of the United Methodist Women and a member of the Shriners Ladies Auxiliary. She was the widow of Henry Woodfun Mahaffey.

Surviving are her daughter, Doris M. Coltharp of the home; her brother, Furman Carnes of Rock Hill; her sister, Eula C. Garrison of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 W. Faris St., Greenville, SC 29605 or Bethel United Methodist Church, 1232 Curtis St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Mary McWaters

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Mary "Foye" McElveen McWaters, 79, of 800 Chester Ave. died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Great Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Gene Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. McWaters was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. She attended Great Falls schools and was a member of Great Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the widow of John Bunyan McWaters.

Surviving are her son, Tony McWaters of Fayetteville, Ga.; three daughters, Agnes Hicks, Margaret Brown and Rachel Perrot, all of Great Falls; two sisters, Dorothy McCallister and Frances Lucas, both of Great Falls; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Great Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC 29055.

Ian Moss

LANCASTER - Ian Anthony Moss, the infant son of Troy Anthony and Amy Elizabeth Hawkins Moss of 1719 Sharon Lane died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carlos Gardner officiating.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his sister, Hilary Moss of the home; his paternal grandparents, Larry and Cindy Moss of Lancaster and John and Joyce Kee of Rock Hill; his maternal grandparents, David and Judy Anderson of Fort Mill; his paternal great-grandmothers, Austine Moss and Eva Dickerson, both of Henderson, N.C.; and his maternal great-grandmother, Helen Pettus of Indian Land.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church MYF, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Inez Powell

FORT MILL - Mrs. Mary Inez Thompson Powell, 68, of 104 Still Ave. died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wolfe Funeral Home, with Chaplain Miriam Mick officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church. She was the widow of Robert Lee Powell.

Surviving are two daughters, Lorraine Massey of Fort Mill and Karen Blake of Fort Lawn; two sisters, Mildred Pope of Fort Mill and Dora Wooten of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral and at other times at the home.

Mildred Price

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mildred Plyler Price, 78, of 500 Neely Store Road died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Catawba Baptist Church cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Huddleston officiating.

Mrs. Price was a native of Jefferson and retired from Hoechst Celanese Corp. after 35 years of service. She was the widow of Dan Price. She was a member of Catawba Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Catawba Cheers.

Surviving are her daughter, Jane Price Coggins of Rock Hill; her brother, Jimmy Price of Rock Hill; two sisters, Edith Rollins and Ruth Hinson, both of Jefferson; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Jane P. Coggins, 656 Peachtree Road, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to the Jeanette Walker Sunday school class, Catawba Baptist Church, 2639 Catawba Church Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Evelyn Robinson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Evelyn Robinson Robinson, 81, of 2075 Zion Road died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Unity ARP Church, with the Revs. Guy Smith, Robert J. Robinson and Frank Lybrand officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker and a member of United ARP Church.

Surviving are her husband, Otha B. Robinson; her brother, Sam Robinson of Lancaster; two sisters, Louise Garland of Sardinia and Edna Flynn of Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to Unity ARP Church, 3495 Unity Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Floyd Tucker Sr.

BLACKSBURG - Mr. Floyd Dean Tucker Sr., 64, of 249 Sims Road died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, with the Revs. Glenn Gregory and Grady Gregory officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Tucker was a member of the National Guard and Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Payne Tucker of Greenville; three sons, Floyd "Sonny" D. Tucker Jr., James "Eddie" Tucker and Michael Tucker, all of Greenville; her daughter, Lesia Darlene Duncan of Iva; two brothers, Lloyd Tucker and David Tucker, both of Blacksburg; four sisters, Shirley Hinson and Doris Moses, both of Blacksburg, Kay Parker of Gaffney and Joann Sullivan of York; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at White Columns Funeral Service and at other times at the home.
