Sarah Vincent

LANCASTER - Mrs. Sarah Gay Vincent, 71, of 1528 Locustwood Ave. died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Vincent was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are her husband, L.C. Vincent; her son, Dr. Angelo Sinopoli of Easley; two sisters, Mary Rivers of Pageland and Agnes Plyler of Lancaster; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Carrie Wylie

CATAWBA - Mrs. Carrie L. "Sugar Feet" Dunham Wylie, 76, of 2674 Killian Road died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Shuler officiating and the Rev. Miriam Crawford assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Wylie joined Bethel United Methodist Church at an early age and later became a member of Faith Temple Church of God, where she was church mother, deaconess, missionary and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired domestic worker. She attended Chester County public schools and was the widow of Fred Wylie.

Surviving are her son, Joe L. Dunham of Catawba; her daughter, Shirley A. Mitchell of Charlotte; her sister, Bessie Mae Nedd of Spring Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Calvin Eugene Williams of Monroe, N.C., and John Lee Wylie of Duncanville, Texas; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Friday.

The body may be viewed from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St.

Maggie Anderson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Maggie Durham Anderson, 83, of White Oak Manor, formerly of 293 Regal Road in Lake Wylie, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at White Oak Manor.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright Funeral Home.

Sam Boone

LANCASTER - Mr. Sam Boone, 87, of 1552 Black Oak Circle died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Jones Crossroads Baptist Church, with the Revs. Buford Hayes and Jerry Broughton officiating. Burial will be in DeKalb Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Boone was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of Jones Crossroads Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Mary Jane "Nancy" Boone of Lancaster; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Jones Crossroads Baptist Church, 3107 Oakland Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Joe Brackett

CLOVER - Mr. Joe Lawson Brackett, 70, of 125 N. Kingsbury Road died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Brackett was retired from Pharr Yarns as plant manager. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marcelle Mims Brackett; two sons, Keith Brackett of Clover and Mike Brackett of Columbia; and two sisters, Jean Dellinger of Mount Holly, N.C., and Vernie Melton of Clover.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church building fund, 2445 Highway 557, Clover, SC 29710.

Agnes Burks

CLOVER - Mrs. Agnes Wilson Burks, 76, of 425 Boyd Road died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at home.

A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bandy Cemetery in Garden City, Va., with the Rev. Jim Bailey officiating.

Mrs. Burks was retired from Hickory Springs Foam Rubber Plant in Roanoke, Va. She was of the Southern Baptist faith.

Surviving are three daughters, Beverley Burks Hundley-Sebald of Tega Cay, Kay Burks Blevins of Clover, and Jackquline Burks Witt of Martinsville, Va.; two sisters, Minnie Wilson Jones of Roanoke, Va., and Gaynel Wilson Stanley of Martinsville, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakley's Funeral Home in Vinton, Va.

M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Arbutus Culley

CHESTER - Mrs. Arbutus Deese Culley, 78, of 222 Brendale Drive died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Heustess officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Culley was a homemaker and member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She attended Lancaster County schools.

Surviving are her son, Jerry Culley of Roanoke, Va.; her daughter, Janet Oyler of Fletcher, N.C.; her brother, Fred Deese of Kershaw; two sisters, Gladys Catoe of Kershaw and Donnie Clements of Mt. Airy, Md.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 477, Chester, SC 29706.
