W. Robin Timmons
FORT LAWN - Mr. Wendell Robin Timmons, 40, of 5805 East Creek Road died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Varnadore
FORT MILL - Mrs. Elizabeth Hagler Varnadore, 79, of Fort Mill died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at Meadow Haven Nursing Home in Rock Hill.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Warren Nance officiating.
Mrs. Varnadore was a seamstress and a member of Riverview Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her son, James Heath of Fort Mill; her daughter, Betty Dawkins of Fort Mill; her sister, Beulah Green of Concord, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Riverview Presbyterian Church, 124 North Sutton Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Willard Brown
ROCK HILL - Mr. Willard Eugene "Gene" Brown, 71, of 4208 Malone Place died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Westerly Hills Baptist Church in Fort Mill, with the Rev. Roger Brown. Burial will be entombment at the Grandview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Brown was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard with the rank of Chief Petty Officer with 21 years of service. He retired from Fiber Industries in Charlotte with 15 years of service. He was a member of the Chief Petty Officers' Auxiliary and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Bradley Brown of the home; four sons, Terry M. Brown of Charlotte and David Brown, Dennis E. Brown and Jeffrey L. Brown, all of Rock Hill; three brothers, James "A.B." Brown of Spartanburg, Jack Brown of Columbia and James Brown of Lancaster; three sisters, Pearl Fowler of Lewisville and Della Cheek and Sue B. Ramsey, both of Rock Hill; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 4208 Malone Place, Rock Hill.
Memorials may be made to Westerly Hills Baptist Church, 1730 Doves Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Marion Canupp Sr.
SHARON - Mr. Marion Frazier Canupp Sr., 77, of 8597 Oak Tree Road died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Sam Hoyt and James Gilchrist officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Canupp was a member of Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church. He was retired from the Milliken Co., Lockhart Plant.
Surviving are two sons, John D. Canupp of York and Jim D. Canupp Sr. of Sharon; three daughters, Ann C. Cromer of Lockhart, Betty C. Blackwell of Blacksburg, and Shirley C. McDaniel of Hickory Grove; two sisters, Evelyn C. Elkins and Rosa C. Black, both of York; and eight grandchildren.
The body is at the home, 8597 Oak Tree Road, and will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. today.
Memorials may be made to Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery fund, c/o Mary Sadler, 1575 Highway 97, Sharon, SC 29742.

Rev. Leon Davis Sr.
LINCOLNTON, N.C. - The Rev. Leon "Boise" Davis Sr., 78, of 602 West Waters St., formerly of Rock Hill, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at New Home AME Zion Church in York, with the Rev. C.J. Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The Rev. Davis was a member of the New Home AME Zion Church in York.
Surviving are his wife, Mozelle Littlejohn Davis; three daughters, Johnettia Davis and Vanessa Brown, both of Gastonia, N.C., and Patricia Goode of Salisbury, N.C.; three sons, Henry Smith Davis of Charlotte and Leon Davis Jr. and James Davis, both of Gastonia, N.C.; three sisters, Josephine Davis, Johnie Mary Davis and Rosie Mae Hawkins, all of Stamford, Conn.; five brothers, William Davis of Henderson, N.C., Alexander Davis, the Rev. Robert O. Davis, Otis Lee Davis and James Davis, all of Gastonia; 25 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Ruth Earley
LANCASTER - Mrs. Ruth Meriwether Earley, 89, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at the White Oak Manor.
The graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., Mrs. Earley lived in Jacksonville, Fla. and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Elizabeth Swain United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, Fla., and was the widow of Vuron Thomas Earley.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline Mackey Palmer of Lancaster and Dr. Margaret Whitt of Englewood, Colo.
Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Delgratia Hardin
ROCK HILL - Ms. Delgratia Hardin, 43, of 2312 Hoke Lane, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was the daughter of Elliott and Mildred Duncan Smith of Rock Hill. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was employed at Celanese.
The funeral will be private. The family will receive friends at the home, 2312 Hoke Lane.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two brothers, Terry Smith and Morris Smith, both of Rock Hill; and four sisters, Karen Smith and Dianne Finch, both of Rock Hill, Phyllis Kirkland of Catawba and Peggy R. Smith of Atlanta.
Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CLOVER - Mrs. Emma Black Hall of 103 Adams St. died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Generation Funeral Home of Clover.

CLOVER - Mrs. Emma Black Hall, 57, of 103 Adams St. died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Clover Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Franklin Johnson, Talmadge Stanton and Stephen Love officiating. Burial will be at Green Pond United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hall attended the Clover public schools and North Carolina A&T State University. A native of York County, she owned Black's Cafe and Black's Funeral Home in Clover.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby Hall; and her stepdaughter, Dallas Girleiyof Bennettsville.
The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church and at other times at the home.
Generation Funeral Home of Clover is in charge.

Willie Hill
CHESTER - Mr. Willie T. Hill Sr., 68, of 2404 Aaron Burr Road died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.

Nellie Horne
YORK - Mrs. Nellie Haney Horne, 70, of 3585 Hands Mill Road died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Pine Grove Baptist Church at Lake Wylie, with the Rev. Jerry Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren in Tryon, N.C.
Mrs. Horne was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Howard E. Horne; her son, Ernest Hoyt Horne of York; her daughter, Vonda H. Wallace of York; her brother, James E. Haney of York; her sister, Polly H. Sanders of Rock Hill; and her grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church building fund, 5415 Highway 557, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.
