Ellie Jackson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ellie Rainey Jackson, 64, of 1051 Brookdale Lane died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Northside Baptist Church, with Dr. Jerry K. Sosebee officiating. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.

A Rock Hill native, Mrs. Jackson retired from Lance Inc. She worked at York Technical College and at Bass Funeral Home. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hubert Wilson Jackson Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Wayne Jackson and Hubert W. Jackson Jr., both of Rock Hill; her mother, Lottie Mae West Rainey of Rock Hill; her brother, Robert William Rainey; her sister, Alma Maudine Rainey Steele of Harlingen, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Joseph Lee Sr.

CHESTER - Mr. Joseph Harvey Lee Sr., 66, of 3095 Harvey Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at his home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodward Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.L. Faile officiating and the Rev. Tommy Roper assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Lee attended Woodward Baptist Church. He served 18 years in the Chester unit of the S.C. National Guard and was a member of Woodmen of the World. He worked 38 years as a field engineer for Duke Power Co.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Moore Lee; his son, Joseph Lee Jr. of Columbia; his daughter, Linda Moore Lee of Fort Mill; three brothers, Holly Dinkins of Columbia, James Lee of Snellville, Ga., and Colvin Lee of East Point, Ga.; and four sisters, Ruth Roberts of Columbia, Elizabeth Wagers of Blackstock, Mary Alice McKeown of Columbia and Betty Traylor of Macon, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Home For Funerals.

Memorials may be made to Woodward Baptist Church, Ashford Road, Chester, SC 29706.

Ruth Liester

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruth DeLoach Liester, 79, of 349 Kuykendal St. died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Sosebee officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Liester was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Donald M. Liester of Columbia and Norman A. Liester of Milledgeville, Ga.; her daughter, Marilyn L. Coley; her sister, Gretude DeLoach of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren, one of whom, Jonathan Coley, is of the home.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Mozelle McCullough

ROCK HILL - Ms. Mozelle McCullough, 93, of 1115 Green St. Extension died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

Roy Reid

ROCK HILL - Mr. Roy Lyle Reid, 74, of 553 Liberty St. died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lesslie Free Will Baptist Church, with the Revs. George Brasington and Steve Pryor officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Reid was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was a retired supervisor from J.P. Stevens industrial plant, where he worked more than 40 years. He also was a charter member of Lesslie Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was the widower of Louise F. Reid.

Surviving are his daughter, Dale Reid Pryor of Rockingham, N.C.; his brother, Billy Reid of New Port Ritchie, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Ola Ward

RIDGEWAY - Mrs. Ola Ruth Ward, formerly of Fort Mill, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Tanglewood Health Care in Ridgeway.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill, with the Rev. David Kemp officiating.

A Lake City native, Mrs. Ward was retired from the Celanese Corp. and was a charter member of Fort Mill Church of God. She was the widow of Courtney Roy Ward.

Surviving are five sons, David Ward of Fort Mill, Vonne Ward of Spartanburg, Jimmy Ward of Rock Hill, Bill Ward of Camden and Dan Ward of Six Miles; her sister, Annie L. Hood of Fort Mill; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Fort Mill Church of God and at other times at the home of David Ward, 207 Forrest St.

Memorials may be made to Fort Mill Church of God building fund, 221 Academy St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

James Bradley Sr.

UNION - Mr. James Wesley "Jim" Bradley Sr., 73, of 210 Hillcrest Drive died Saturday Jan. 16, 1999, at home.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Union Memorial Gardens, with the Revs. Jerry Lawson and Clayton Howerton officiating.

A native of Union, Mr. Bradley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union, Rutledge Masonic Lodge #351, Hejaz Shrine Temple and BPO Elk's Lodge No. 1321. A World War II veteran, he served two terms on the Union City Council and was a member of the VFW, the S & M Investors Club and American Legion Post No. 22.

Mr. Baker retired as manager of Sunshine Cleaners and was the widower of Hazel Perry Bradley.

Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth B. "Betsy" Rose of Clover; his son, James W. "Brad" Bradley Jr. of Union; and four grandchildren.

The body will be at Holcombe Funeral Home in Union from 7 to 9 tonight, where the family will receive friends. They will receive friends at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of the First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, SC 29379.
