Lemuel Taylor

ROCK HILL - Mr. Lemuel D. Taylor, 73, of 1676 Elderwood Road died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mr. Taylor was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of its 25-Year Club. He was a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He was a disabled Navy veteran and landed on Omaha Beach, June 6, 1944, D-Day, during the World War II Normandy invasion.

Surviving are his son, Andrew Lamar Taylor of Rock Hill; his daughter, Allison Marie Walker of Rock Hill; his brother, J.C. Taylor of Myrtle Beach; his sister, Verla Woody of Mount Pleasant; and his grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Ann Wallace

FORT MILL - Mrs. Ann Brandon Wallace, 60, of 441 Gold Hill Road died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Daniel Griffin and Paul Harmon officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chadborn, N.C., Mrs. Wallace worked for Baldor Electric in Fort Mill and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She was the widow of William A. Brandon.

Surviving are two sons, William Terry Brandon of Charlotte and Richard Allen Brandon of Fort Mill; her daughter, Sandra Brandon Price of Fort Mill; her mother, Lula Rowell Jackson of Rock Hill; her stepfather, S.Y. Jackson of Rock Hill; two brothers, Thomas G. Harrelson of Whiteville, N.C., and Jack C. Lane of Rock Hill; her sister, Marie H. Walker of Fort Mill; seven grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at home.

Memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church, 296 Flint Hill Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715 or to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732..

Blanche Wiggins

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Blanche Greer Wiggins, 89, formerly of Fair Play, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Burial was at South Union Baptist Church cemetery in Westminster.

A native of Franklin County, Ga., Mrs. Wiggins was a sales representative for Avon for more than 25 years. She was a member of South Union Baptist Church, the Effie Harris Sunday school class, and the Woman's Missionary Union. She was a correspondent for the Seneca Journal Tribune for many years. She was the widow of J. Lealon Wiggins.

Surviving are her son, Joel M. Greer of Weaverville, N.C.; two daughters, Martha W. Williams of York and Betty W. Boggs of Walhalla; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Alan and Betty Boggs, 103 Letson Circle, Walhalla.

Memorials may be made to the South Union Baptist Church youth building fund, 451 South Union Road, Westminster, SC 29693 or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 200814.

Diane Williams

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Diane Davis Williams, 56, of 1117 Fairmount St., formerly of York, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Galilee Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. George H. Lowry Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Williams was a native of York and was educated in the York County school system. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. She was the widow of James E. Williams.

Surviving are three sons, Randy Williams, Dirus Williams and James Williams, all of Charlotte; four daughters, Debra A. Williams, Marva Torrence and Myrtle Williams, all of Charlotte, and Lola Love of York.

The body may be viewed at 2 p.m. today at King Funeral Home in Charlotte.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The family will receive visitors before the funeral Wednesday at the home of Lola Love, 109 Washington St. in York.

Kamal Wilson

SHARON - Kamal Jahleel Wilson, the infant son of Gregory Martin Wilson and Kiwana Banks, of 4726 Cabal Road died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Cross Road Baptist Church in Sharon, with the Rev. Wiley White Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Bianca Lee and Yianca Wilson, both of Newark, N.J.; his paternal grandparents, Willie Wilson of Sharon and Ora Wilson-Nicholas of Cliffwood, N.J.; his maternal grandfather, Robert Banks of Pendleton; his paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Wilson of Sharon and Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Pendergrass of Sharon; and his maternal great-grandmother, Johnnie Mae Banks of Pendleton.

Shirley Bolin

CLINTON - Miss Shirley Lee Bolin, 85, of Whitten Center Campus, formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.

Miss Bolin was the daughter of the late Alonzo E. and Minnie Farmer Bolin. She was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 1727 McConnells Highway, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Gray Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge.

Sarah Coleman

CHESTER - Mrs. Sarah "Sis" Gregory Coleman, 96, formerly of 243 Columbia St. in Chester, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul F. Long officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A Chester County native, Mrs. Coleman retired from Chester Laundry and Dry Cleaning. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the AP &B Society.

Surviving are her sister, Jessie Gregory of Chester; and her caregivers, nephews Willie Hemphill of Charlotte and Jessie Mobley of Baltimore, and niece, Sarah Shelton of Baltimore.

The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
