Thomas Crenshaw

DURHAM, N.C. - Mr. Thomas Franklin Crenshaw, 57, of 1401 Oakland Ave. died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Duke Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethany United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Pasquarello officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Crenshaw was a former manager in men's clothing. He was a graduate of Furman University. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Miriam Hutchison Crenshaw; his daughter, Winn C. Wheeler of Efland, N.C.; and his mother, Dorothy Winn Crenshaw of Murrells Inlet.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 2809 Guess Road, Durham, NC 27705.

Clements Funeral Service is in charge.

F. Carroll Falls

CLOVER - Mr. F. Carroll Falls, 85, of 455 Maynard Grayson Road died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Ebenezer Nursing Home in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Baptist Church, with the Rev. Harold Beam officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Falls was a retired electrician and lifetime member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army, Company C, 68th Tank Battalion.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie Mae Falls; three sons, Frank Falls and D. Larry Falls, both of Clover, and Thomas N. Falls of Charlotte; his daughter, Bonnie McElveen of Clover; three brothers, Herbert Falls and George Falls, both of Kings Creek, and John Falls of Columbia; seven sisters, Ola Pruette of Grover, N.C., Avalona Ware Hembree of Union, Pansy Julian of Anderson, Veda Garrison and Dorothea Martin, both of Greenville, Frances Pennington of Gaffney, and Ester Holliday of Six Mile; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home.

Belinda Higgins

FORT MILL - Mrs. Belinda Holder Higgins, 49, formerly of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Higgins was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College. She was formerly associated with Sprint. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

Surviving are her husband, Wil Higgins; her daughter, Rachel Higgins Murray of Charlotte; her mother, Barbara F. Holder of Monroe, N.C.; two sisters, Berita Stack and Beverly Holder, both of Monroe, N.C.; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home.

Ruby Jenkins

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruby Jenkins Jenkins, 80, of Rock Hill died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Beverly Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Bill Jenkins.

Surviving are four sons, Tony Jenkins, J.W. Jenkins, Windell Jenkins and Harold Jenkins, all of Rock Hill; three daughters, Peggy Westbrook of Rock Hill, Jeanette Crenshaw of Van Wyck and Hilda Parker of Seneca; her brother, Darell Jenkins of Marshville, N.C.; five sisters, Pauline Jenkins, Jean Clontz, and Carolyn Griffin, all of Marshville, N.C., Lois Stegall of Monroe, N.C., and Wilma Faile of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Peggy Westbrook, 2325 Dunlap Roddey Road, Rock Hill.

Charlie Marshall

ROCK HILL - Mr. Charlie Marshall of 221 Blanche Circle died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charlie Mason officiating and the Revs. Edward Garrison, Sandra Mason and Daniel Chisholm assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Marshall was educated in the public schools of York County and Clinton Junior College. He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir and AP&B Society No. 21. He was retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District.

Surviving are his son, James Phillips of Jacksonville, Fla.; his sister, Christine Wylie of Rock Hill; two brothers, Nathaniel Marshall and George Marshall Sr., both of Rock Hill; his grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at 1438 Stroupe St., Rock Hill.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Frankie Moore

CLOVER - Ms. Frankie J. Moore, 58, of 109 Queensgate Road died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant AME Zion Church in Gastonia, with Elder Carl Glenn officiating. Burial will be at Clover Community Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Maury Martin of Gastonia and Regina F. Moore of Toledo, Ohio; her sister, Mary M. Bratton of Clover; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The body may be viewed from 3 to 8 tonight at Generation Funeral Home in Clover.

Pershing Payne

KERSHAW - Mr. Pershing Benjamin Payne, 80, of 4214 Duckwood Road died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Lancaster Convalescent Center in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at White Bluff Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Helms, Coit Auten and Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Payne was retired from Lehigh Steel Corp. A member of White Bluff Baptist Church, he was Deacon Emeritus, having served as deacon since 1950 and chairman for more than 20 years. He served as choir director for 23 years and was a member and former president of the Young At Heart, senior adults. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Meta Mungo Payne; two sons, Boyce J. Payne of Kershaw and Timothy E. Payne of Dinwiddie, Va.; his daughter, Nancy Mackey of Heath Springs; his sister, Eula Faile of Kershaw; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to White Bluff Baptist Church, 3140 Duckwood Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.
