Pearl Green

LANCASTER - Mrs. Pearl Connie Williamson Green, 100, of 2499 Cain Mill Road died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zebulon Baptist Church in Union Springs, Ala., with the Revs. Earl Oakes and John Rigby officiating. Burial will be at Sanfield Cemetery in Union Springs.

Mrs. Green was retired from Eagle and Phoenix Mills of Columbus, Ga. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church of Phenix City, Ala. She was the widow of Clifford Lorenza Green.

Surviving are two daughters, Irma Harris of Lancaster and Johnnie Mae Shehane of Heath Springs; 14 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grey Funeral Home in Union Springs.

Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, is in charge of local arrangements.

Laura Mikeal

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Laura Leo Hunt Mikeal, 82, of Beam Road died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at McEwen Funeral Service's Charlotte chapel, with the Revs. Tony Harper and Dr. Bobby Blanton officiating. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mikeal was a native of Rock Hill. She was a supervisor of Kellwood Manufacturing Co. for several years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Scott T. Mikeal Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Scott T. Mikeal Jr. of Cornelius, N.C., and William R. Mikeal of Indian Trail, N.C.; two sisters, Helen Hunt May of Greer and Mary Lee Kalegris of Earlysville, Va.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home, Charlotte Chapel, 727 E. Morehead St.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2200 Ashley Road, Charlotte, NC 28208 or Lake Norman Baptist Church building fund, 7921 Sam Furr Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.

Marie Palmer

CHICAGO - Mrs. Marie Louise Cranford Palmer, 74, of Chicago, formerly of Sharon, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, in Chicago.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict African Catholic Church in Chicago, with the Fathers Baldwin and Jamnicky officiating. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth, Ill.

Mrs. Palmer was a member of St. Benedict African Catholic Church. She retired from the Social Service Department. She was the widow of Thomas M. Palmer Sr.

Surviving are four sons, Thomas M. Palmer Jr., Phillip A. Palmer, Robert A. Palmer and Richard A. Palmer, all of Chicago; five daughters, Harriett Palmer, Eleanor Jones, Martha Boahene, Linda Rahman, all of Chicago, and Maggie Ruth Burris of Sharon; two sisters, Lucretia Williams of Newark, N.J., and Elizabeth Holman of Dover, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at A.R. Leake Funeral Home, 79th and College Grove streets, Chicago.

King's Funeral Home is in charge of local announcement.

Everett Vaughn Jr.

YORK - Mr. Everett Eugene Vaughn Jr., 54, of 850 Mitchell Road died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beersheba Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. James Barnes officiating.

Mr. Vaughn was a retired store owner. He was an Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Bailes Vaughn; two sons, William Arthur Vaughn of Clover and Christopher Matthew Vaughn of the home; his parents, Everett E. and Barbara Mullinax Vaughn of Charleston; his brother, Larry Mullinax Vaughn of Charleston; two sisters, Nancy Vaughn Brown of Charleston and Brenda Vaughn Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 400 Percival Road, Box 6604, Columbia, SC 29260.

Austin Wade

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Austin "Blackjack" Wade, 50, of 1516 McFarland St. died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke No. 1 Baptist Church in Sharon, with the Rev. A.A. Bankhead officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Wade was employed at Dixie Castings Inc. He was a member of St. Luke No. 1 Baptist Church and attended York public schools.

Surviving are seven brothers, Alvin Wade of Washington, D.C., George Wade and John Pratt Wade, both of Gastonia, Donald Wade and Luther Wade, both of Sharon, Joe Lee Wade of Summerville and David Wade of York; two sisters, Inez McCoy of Gastonia and Pauline Lytle of Sharon; and his special friend, Shirley Love of Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 7:30 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his sister, Inez McCoy, 1710 Poston Circle, Gastonia.

The body will be placed in the church at noon Wednesday.

Gilbert Beckham

CHESTER - Mr. Gilbert Marvin Beckham, 83, of 531 W. Elliott St. died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at Ebenezer Nursing Home in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Gaddy officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Beckham was retired from Springs Industries. He attended Winthrop Training School. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where he was the groundskeeper. He was the widower of Ruby Reid Beckham.

Surviving are two daughters, Marlene Manus of Ladson and Brenda Robinson of Rock Hill; his stepson, Randy Davis of Chester; his brother, H.L. Beckham of Angier, N.C.; three sisters, Elsie Beckham Hall of Lowrys, Dorothy Neely of McConnells and Vernell Roof of Chester; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Parkway Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1227, Chester SC 29706.

W.F. Blanks Jr.

COLUMBIA - The funeral for W.F. "Buddy" Blanks Jr., 58, who died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Park Street Baptist Church. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Blanks was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are his parents, W. Floyd Blanks Sr. and Frances Blackmon Blanks; his brother, Ben Blanks of Chapin; and his companion, Janet LaBorde of Columbia.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Heart Association.
