William Morris

RICHBURG - Mr. William Edward Morris, 69, of 2872 Lancaster Highway, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, at home.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Father David Valtierra and Deacon Jon Dwyer officiating.

A native of Hackensack, N.J., Mr. Morris was senior vice president of Sequa Corp. and was former general manager of Sequa Chemical Co. in Chester.

He was a graduate of St. Benedict Academy in Newark, N.J., and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was a former member of the Chester County Hospital Board and active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a counselor of Chapter 47 of the Service Corps of Retired Executives Association.

Surviving are his wife, Frances C. Morris; three sons, Brian Morris of Orlando, Fla., John Morris of Mooresville, N.C., and Kevin Morris of Camden; two daughters, Ellen McLean of Pittsburg, N.J., and Dr. Brigid Morris Tinkler of Columbia; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church after the service.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Attention Home, P.O. Box 2912 CRS, Rock Hill, SC 29731 or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 869, Chester, SC 29706.

Charles Rhinehart

CHESTER - Mr. Charles Marion Rhinehart, 65, of 579 Darby Road died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Pratt officiating and the Rev. E.E. Vance assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was retired from the city of Charlotte, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Second Wilson Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Clara M. Rhinehart; four sons, Charles Rhinehart Jr. of Hickory, N.C., O'Neal Rhinehart of Rock Hill, Dennis L. Rhinehart of Severn, Ma., and Robert M. Rhinehart of Columbia; two daughters, Bertha R. Sims of Chester and Sharon Rhinehart of the home; his mother, Maurice R. McCoy; his stepfather, Johh McCoy of Buffalo, N.Y.; six brothers, Joseph Young and Timothy Holbrook, both of Chester, Harold Holbrook and Dan Holbrook, both of Atlanta, Ga.; Curtis Holbrook and Dan D. Walker, both of Charlotte; six sisters, Sylome McClinton, Delois Tucker, Sandra Alexander, and Marilyn Glumbe, all of Buffalo, N.Y., Emma Abernathy of Virginia Beach, Va., and Beaudell Foston of Charlotte; five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body will; be carried to the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kings Funeral Home is in charge.

Beuna Blackmon

GEORGETOWN - Mrs. Beuna Sturgis Blackmon, 95, formerly of the Rich Hill Community, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rich Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. L. Brooks Walker officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York, Mrs. Blackmon was a retired employee of Springs Industries. She attended Rich Hill Baptist Church and was a member of the home Demonstration Club and Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Lucius Blackmon.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Rose Lundy of Durham, N.C., Jean Rowell of Andrews and Ann Teague of Gastonia, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the committal service.

Memorials may be made to Rich Hill Baptist Church, 1557 E. Doc Garris Road, Heath Springs.

Elizabeth Caldwell

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Wilmore Caldwell, 72, of 228 Simrill St. died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Moseley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Caldwell was retired from Smith Enterprises. She was a member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church and was the widow of David C. Caldwell Sr.

Surviving are six sons, David C. Caldwell Jr. of Columbia, William Caldwell of Spicer, Minn., John Caldwell of Los Angeles, and Horace Caldwell, Richard Caldwell and Larry Caldwell, all of Rock Hill; three daughters, Veronica Caldwell of Charlotte, Wilhelmenia Geter of Vienna, W.Va., and Barbara Caldwell of Atlanta; her brother, James Wilmore Jr. of York; three sisters, Delia Mills of Rock Hill, Carrie Bell Lowry of Baltimore and Annie Barber of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at noon Thursday.

The family will receive friends at home.

Ella Mae Dean

LANCASTER - Mrs. Ella Mae Dean, 61, of 211 Brooklyn Ave. died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Revs. Archie Blackmon and Glenda Hodge officiating. Burial will be at the West Side Cemetery.

Mrs. Dean was a homemaker and member of Blood Bought Church.

Surviving are her husband, Boyd Thomas Dean Sr.; two sons, Boyd Thomas Dean Jr. and Claude Allen Dean, both of Rock Hill; her daughter, Phyllis Dean Kirby of Pineville, N.C.; her sister, Evelyn Broome of Lancaster; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and at other times at the home, 211 Brooklyn Ave., Lancaster.

Alice Dye

ROCK HILL - Alice J. Hutchison Dye, 68, of 334B Hutchison St. Apartments died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Cross Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.E. Boulware officiating and the Revs. Ellen H. Fewell and Lavenia Pride assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was a retired chef who worked for the Rainbow Restaurant. She attended Rock Hill schools.

Surviving are three sisters, Annie Caldwell of Washington, D.C., and Addie Hutchison and Emma Hutchison, both of Rock Hill; two brothers, Willie Hutchison of Charlotte and Solomon Hutchison of Columbia; her nephew and niece who were her caregivers, Johnny R. Fewell and the Rev. Ellen H. Fewell; and a host of other relatives.

The body may be viewed today from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Parker's Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at 952 Eastwood Drive in Rock Hill and 334B Hutchinson Street Apartments.

F. Charles Jenkins Jr.

CLOVER - Mr. F. Charles Jenkins Jr., 36, of 508 Flat Rock St. died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Hutchison. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Jenkins was a teacher at Southeastern Beauty School in Charlotte and a hairstylist at Modern Trend in Clover. He was a graduate of Clover High School.

Surviving are his parents, Fred and Wilma Jenkins of Clover; his sister, Charlene Cantrell of Gastonia, N.C.; and his grandmother, Mary Dixon of Clover.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home.
