Marlene Melton

YORK - Mrs. Marlene Permenter Melton, 38, of 3531 Wade Dills Road died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at home.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating.

Mrs. Melton was a Rock Hill native.

Surviving are her husband, David F. Melton of York; two sons, Wriston Melton and Jonathan Melton, both of the home; her mother, Betty K. Permenter of Rock Hill; her brother, Mark Permenter of Rock Hill; four sisters, Synetha Williams and Elizabeth Thomas, both of Rock Hill; Cheryl Hodge of Seneca and Bonnie Permenter of Lesslie community in Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Elizabeth Thomas, at 1922 Smith Circle.

Pearl Nunnery

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Pearl Barber Nunnery of Rock Hill died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at Magnolia Manor.

The funeral will be noon Monday at Bass Funeral Home. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Barber attended and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church and was in the Eastern Star. She retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. She was the widow of Gilbert Nunnery.

Surviving is her sister, Alice Norman of Chester.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at Bass Funeral Home and at the home of Mrs. Jimmy Jackson, 785 Cedar Lane, Chester.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 215 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Bass Funeral Home is in charge.

Raymond Partlow

CHERAW - Mr. Raymond Partlow, 81, of New York City, formerly of Clover, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, at Chesterfield Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.T. Massey officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Partlow retired from Liebrick and Sons in New York.

Surviving are his mother, Martha Partlow of Clover; his foster daughter, Josephine Grayson of New York; his sister, Lula Partlow Tate of Clover; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7 tonight at Generation Funeral Home.

Charles Rhinehart Sr.

CHESTER - Mr. Charles Marion Rhinehart Sr., 65, of 579 Darby Road died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Pratt officiating and the Rev. E.E. Vance assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was retired from the city of Charlotte, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Second Wilson Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Clara M. Rhinehart; four sons, Charles Rhinehart Jr. of Hickory, N.C., O'Neal Rhinehart of Rock Hill, Dennis L. Rhinehart of Severn, Md., and Robert M. Rhinehart of Columbia; two daughters, Bertha R. Sims of Chester and Sharon Rhinehart of the home; his mother and stepfather, Maurice R. McCoy and Johh McCoy of Buffalo, N.Y.; six brothers, Joseph Young and Timothy Holbrook, both of Chester, Harold Holbrook and Dan Holbrook, both of Atlanta, Curtis Holbrook and Dan D. Walker, both of Charlotte; six sisters, Sylome McClinton, Delois Tucker, Sandra Alexander and Marilyn Glumbe, all of Buffalo, N.Y., Emma Abernathy of Virginia Beach, Va., and Beaudell Foston of Charlotte; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body will be carried to the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kings Funeral Home is in charge.

Linda Williams

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Linda Bryan Williams, 78, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at the Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Ga., with the Rev. Michael Carraker officiating.

Mrs. Williams was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her husband, A. Dewey Williams of Rock Hill; two sons, Paul D. Williams of Buford, Ga., and J. Morgan Williams of Rock Hill; her daughter, Linda Schussler Williams of Louisville, Ky.; her sister, Sarah Carlton Proctor of Athens, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to York Place, 234 Kings Mountain St., York, SC 29745.

Bass Funeral Home in Rock Hill is in charge.

James Adams

LANCASTER - Mr. James Edward Adams of 9460 Van Wyck Road died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Gold Hill AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Deborah Waddell officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A Lancaster native, Mr. Adams attended the Gold Hill AME Zion Church School in Lancaster. He was a member of the trustee board and the choir. He was an Army veteran and served in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mae Lewis Adams of the home; his son, Harvey L. Adams of Charlotte; five daughters, Mae Adams Lowry of Fort Mill, Janet Adams and Lillian Adams, both of the home, and Gwendolyn Adams McIntyre and Patricia Adams Taylor, both of Lancaster; his brother, David Adams of Charlotte; five sisters, Beatrice Davis, Ada Reid and Eunice Williams, all of Charlotte, and Wilma Adams and Calvert Barber, both of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and his great-grandson.

The body will be placed in the church at noon today.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Macy Broughton,

KERSHAW - Miss. Macy Rebecca Broughton, 86, of 149 South Rollins Drive died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Revs. Robert Rivers and Ronnie Owens officiating. Burial will be at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Miss Broughton was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are two brothers, C.B. Broughton of Kershaw and Cletis M. Broughton of Laurenburg, N.C.; and two sisters, Gladys B. Owens of Kershaw and Myrtis Russell of Columbia.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
