Jacob Drawdy

ORANGEBURG - Mr. Jacob C. "Jack" Drawdy, 80, of 1173 Todd Creek Road died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at Bamberg County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Willow Swamp Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dr. Robert Miller and Richard Porter officiating. Burial will be at Ott Cemetery in Branchville.

Mr. Drawdy was educated at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind and was retired from the South Carolina Commission of the Blind Vendors. He was a member of Willow Swamp Baptist Church and the National Federation of the Blind.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Wooley Drawdy; his daughter, Elaine Garrick of Neeses; his sister, Maelese D. Rickenbacker of St. Matthews; three grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Willow Swamp Church.

Willie Harrison

CLOVER - Mr. Willie Morris Harrison, 84, of 402 Bellaire Circle died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church, with Rev. Ronnie Baxter officiating and Dr. Benjamin Hinton assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Harrison attended public schools in Toccoa, Ga., and joined New Home AME Zion Church, where he was a member for many years. He later joined Union Baptist Church in Newport and was a member of the New Home Church Aid Society. He was the widower of Eura Lyttle Harrison.

Surviving are two sons, John Arthur Harrison of Gastonia, N.C., the Rev. Willie Lowery of Clover; five daughters, Willie Mae Tate and Pauline Harrison, both of Gastonia, the Rev. Julia Hinton of Rock Hill, Annette Harrison Woods of Clover and Ruth Harrison Herring of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, John Harrison and Joe Harrison, both of Columbus, Ga., and Elasha Harrison of Georgia; three sisters, Minnie Lee Colvin of Rock Hill, Annie Crawford of Spring Valley, N.Y., and Ruth Pindle of Columbus; his stepbrother, Louis Hall of Rock Hill; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church.

Wright Funeral Home is in charge.

Samuel Latham

SHARON - Mr. Samuel Jackson Latham, 67, of 2474 Highway 97 died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside serice will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene Thompson officiating.

A native of York County, Mr. Latham was an employee of Hoechst Celanese Corp., where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of the Sharon Masonic Lodge. An Army veteran, he served in the Korean conflict and was a member of Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Cranford Latham; three sons, Sam Latham III, Tom Latham and Gene Latham, all of Sharon; his brother, Hays Latham of Rock Hill; his sister, Alda C. Rabon of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Margaret O'Neal

YORK - Mrs. Margaret Lanier O'Neal, 79, of 111 S. Congress St. died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at White Oak Manor in York.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Barnes officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. O'Neal was a retired spinner for American Thread in Clover and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was the widow of Albert A. O'Neal.

Surviving are five sons, David O'Neal and Larry O'Neal, both of York, Dan O'Neal of Charlotte, Mike O'Neal and Pat O'Neal, both of Gastonia, N.C.; three daughters, Faye Stiles of Clover, and Mary Ann Byrum and Nancy Robinson, both of York; three brothers, David Lanier of York, George Lanier of Virginia and William Lanier of Charlotte; four sisters, Maddeline Lanier of York, Catherine Knox of Middletown, N.C., and Lucille Breeden and Viola Little, both of Charlotte; 27 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

James Robinson

LANCASTER - Mr. James Edward "Commodore" Robinson, 75, of 993 Hampton-Grace Ave. died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at White Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Bailey, Bill Sumner and Carol Gilbert officiating. Burial with Eastern Star rites will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Robinson was a retiree of the U.S. Navy and Springs Industries. He was a member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 53, the Order of the Eastern Star, Lancaster Chapter No. 146; the Stafford Graham American Legion Post No. 31 and White Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Cleo Stacks Robinson; four daughters, Gail Plyler of Omaha, Neb., Carol Gilbert of Houston, and Sandra Lambert and Kay Gay, both of Lancaster; his brother, Fred Robinson of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home of Lancaster and at other times at the home of Eugene and Sandra Lambert, 4189 Pageland Highway.

Annie Watkins

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Annie Lee Hargette Watkins, 85, of 1161 E. Main St. died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bass Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. Donald McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Union County, Mrs. Watkins was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. after 29 years of service. She worked in the packing department. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Roy S. Watkins; two daughters, Reva Hammond of Naples, Fla., and Barbara McManus of Rock Hill; her brother, Clyde Hargette of Monroe, N.C.; her sister, Bobbie Yarborough of Fort Mill; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Rose Blanton

YORK - Mrs. Rose Huskins Blanton, 86, of York died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, at Meadow Haven Nursing Home in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Talley officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Blanton was a retired weaver from Cannon Mills in York. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was the widow of Russell Blanton.

Surviving are two daughters, Billie Blanton Quinn of York and Cheryl Blanton Lee of Raleigh, N.C.; her brother, Carl Huskins of Cherryville, N.C.; four sisters, Catherine H. McKinney of Bryson City, N.C., Ruby H. Breakfield of Hickory Grove, Weetsie H. Moss and Ada H. Farris, both of York; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.
