James Wilmore Jr.

YORK - Mr. James "Boot" Wilmore Jr. of 402 Hunter St. died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Paul Mosley officiating and the Rev. Keith Hunter assisting. Burial with military honors will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Wilmore was educated in York County public schools. He joined Weeping Mary Baptist Church at an early age and was on the trustee board. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Cannon Mills Inc. in York. He was a member of the White Hill Masonic Lodge No. 462 and was the widower of Clara Lowry Wilmore.

Surviving are his daughter, Betty Ruth Wilmore of the home; his granddaughter, Ashley Crawford of the home; his brother, David Wilmore of York; and three sisters, Delia Mills of Rock Hill, Carrie Bell Lowry of Baltimore and Annie Barber of Philadelphia.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weeping Mary Baptist Church, 1996 Eastview Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Hunter Windham

CLOVER - Hunter Jonathan Windham, the infant son of Eddie L. Windham Jr. of Charlotte and Julie D. Dillon of Clover, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at River Hills Community Church cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Harmon officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are three brothers, Brandon Daum and Christian Dillon, both of Clover, and Eddie L. Windham III of Monroe, N.C.; his sister, Laura Windham of Charlotte; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Sue Windham of Clover; and his maternal grandparents, Jim and Betty Lou Dougherty of Lake Wylie.

Memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 200 Centreport Drive, Greensboro, NC 27409.

M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Theodore Bailey

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Mr. Theodore Bailey, 64, formerly of Chester, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at Providence Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chester County, with the Rev. James Hope officiating and the Revs. Roosevelt Adams and McKinley Woods officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Bailey was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and while living in Washington, D.C., he attended the First Baptist Church of Marshall Height. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was educated in the public schools of Chester County and was a protective officer of the CIA in Arlington, Va.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Wilkes Bailey of the home; two sons, Theodore Bailey Jr. of Oxon Hill, Md. and Harold Bailey of the home; two daughters, Emma Cooke of District Height, Md. and Janice Bailey of the home; four brothers, Robert Bailey of Washington DC, John Bailey of Rock Hill; D.H. Bailey and James Bailey, both of Chester and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Shirley Moore, 112 Eli St., Chester. The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

The body will be carried to the church at 1 p.m., . Sunday.

The Rev. Frank Buckley

ROCK HILL - The Rev. Frank G. Buckley, 93, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, in Marietta, Ga.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

A native of Philadelphia, the Rev. Buckley lived in Rock Hill for the past 20 years. He was a retired United Methodist minister with the Peninsula-Delaware Conference of Maryland and Delaware. He also served as minister emeritus of Woodland United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn C. Buckley; his son, Seward A. Buckley of Baltimore; two daughters, Barbara L. Baker of Moline, Ill., and Nancy S. Rawls of Marietta; five grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.

Bass Funeral Home is in Rock Hill.

Nora Clyburn

LANCASTER - Mrs. Nora Lee Clyburn, 74, 411 Chesterfield Villas died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis L. Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clyburn was retired from Springs Industries. She was the widow of Eddie Clyburn Sr.

Surviving are five sons, Eddie Ray Clyburn Jr., Ronnie Clyburn and Darryl S. Clyburn, all of Lancaster, Olin Ray Clyburn of Rock Hill and Donnie S. Clyburn of Wingate, N.C.; her daughter, Diane Thompson of Lancaster; two brothers, Aron Roseborough and Haroldene Roseborough, both of Lancaster; and her sister, Geraldine Roseborough of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Crawford Funeral Home.

Robbie Cunningham

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Robbie "Tillie" Cunningham, 89, of 1150 Glenarden Drive died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at United AME Zion Church in Fort Mill, with the Rev. T.R. McBeth officiating, and the Revs. Ray Thompson, Mildred Patton, David R. Baker and Loretta Adams assisting. The burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Fort Mill.

Mrs. Cunningham was a retired domestic worker and attended United AME Zion Church.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, who were her caretakers, Hattie Mae and William Abe Kirkpatrick, both of the home; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to noon toay at Parker Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. today.

Melvin Dunham

EDGEMOOR - Mr. Melvin "Shep" Dunham, 80, of Wylie Mill Road died Wednesday, Dec. 16., 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Vernon AME Zion Church, with the Rev. J.E. Johnson officiating and the Rev. Grady Sharps and Bishop Robert Gaston assisting. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Dunham was a member of the Mt. Vernon AME Zion Church, where he was a member of the Trustee Board, the Usher Board and past president of the Hymn Choir. He was a member of Guidon Masonic Lodge number 67.

Mr. Dunham retired from the Lancaster Power Plant. He was a former member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and attended the public schools of Chester County.

Surviving are his wife, Edna Gaston Dunham; three sons, James Franklin Dunham of Edgemoor, James Thomas Dunham of Rock Hill and Melvin Dunham Jr. of Chester; six daughters, Bernice Williams of Charlotte, Jeannette White of Rock Hill, Mary Elizabeth Gordon of Cleveland, and Ora Mae Truesdale, Sadie Blackmon and Annette Feaster, all of Edgemoor; an adopted daughter, Carrie M. Waiters of Heath Springs; his sister, Willie M. Howze of Catawba; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and his great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the home. The body may be viewed from 12 to 9 tonight at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester. The body will be carried to the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.
