Jane Demby

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Diania "Jane" McManus Demby, 49, of 2231 Porter Road died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Olin Giles officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Demby was a former employee of Smith Enterprises and Klear Knit. She was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Bonnie L. Demby Jr.; her son, Stoy B. Faile Jr. of Rock Hill; her stepson, Chris Demby of Rock Hill; her daughter, Angel Marie Dean of Rock Hill; her stepdaughter, Wanda Lea Demby of Rock Hill; her mother, Betty McManus of Rock Hill; three brothers, David Harvey of Decatur, Ga., and Charles Wayne McManus and William C. McManus, both of Rock Hill; four sisters, Rosalie Robinson and Ida Mae Wray, both of York, and Joyce Knight and Becky McManus, both of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Betty McManus, 2231 Porter Road, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Moline Durham

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Moline Cathcart Durham of 1144 Green St. Extension died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at New Hope United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Gadsden officiating and the Rev. Stephen Love assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Durham was a native of York County. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, the church Aid Society No. 5, Eastern Star and the United Methodist Women. She attended the New Hope Church school.

Surviving are her daughter, Azalee D. Thompson of Rock Hill; her son, Marcellers Durham of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

The body will taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Wanda Dutton

LANCASTER - Mrs. Wanda Otilla Adams Dutton, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Peek officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Dutton was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Allen Dutton; three sons, Allen Dutton of Great Falls and Wayne Dutton and B. Shea Dutton, both of Lancaster; five daughters, Maxine Murdock and Lydia Parlier, both of Rock Hill, Jo Winkler of Charlotte, Brenda Lyles of Easley and Phyllis Dutton of Lancaster; her brother, Jack Adams of Lancaster; her sister, Jessie Mae Hunter of Chester; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 this morning at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and at other times at the home of Wayne Dutton, 2524 Cane Mill Road, Lancaster.

John Gregory

BALTIMORE - Mr. John Howard Gregory, 65, of 2314 W. Baltimore St., formerly of Chester, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, with the Rev. Curtis Washington officiating. Burial will be at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church cemetery.

Surviving are his brother, James Gregory of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and four sisters, Jessie Brown of Baltimore, Ann Ruffin of Queens, N.Y., Ella Pendergrass of Chester and Remattie Gregory of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The family will receive friends at 2764 April Drive, Wilksburg Community, Chester.

Wilma Parrish

CONWAY - Mrs. Wilma Usher Parrish, 82, formerly of Rock Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at Conway Nursing Center.

The funeral was Monday at McDougald Funeral Chapel in Laurel Hill, N.C., with the Revs. Brian Perry and J.B. Loving officiating. Burial was at Hillside Memorial Park in Laurinburg, N.C.

Mrs. Parrish retired from Springfield Mills in 1981. She was educated in the Chesterfield County Schools and was an active member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty P. Strait of Galivants Ferry; her sister, Gladys Adams of Charlotte; her granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.

Memorials may be made to Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 217, Laurel Hill, N.C. 28351.

Donna Sigmon

LANCASTER - Mrs. Donna Kay Reid Sigmon, 42, of 1243 Franklin St., died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Revs. R.B. Ashley and Mickey Boykin officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sigmon was born in Lancaster. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a retired nurse.

Surviving are her husband, Henry Alan Sigmon; her son, Robert Starnes "Bobby" Gibson of Lancaster; her father, James Bagley Reid of Lancaster; her mother, Sarah Starnes Reid of Lancaster; her sister, Gloria Diann Reid of Lancaster; her half-brother, Heath Simpson of Newberry; and her half-sister, Julie Reid of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and other times at the home of Sarah S. Reid, 1140 Confederate Ave., Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2722 Middleburg Dr., Suite 312, Columbia, SC 29204.

Steve Thrift

ROCK HILL - Mr. Steve Earl Thrift, 50, of 1740 Smokey Road died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.

Mr. Thrift was employed by Springs Industries for 26 years.

Surviving are his son, Chris Thrift of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Kathy Thrift and Renee Burt, both of Rock Hill; his brother, Larry Thrift of McConnells; and his grandchild.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
