Daniel Boston
COLUMBIA - Mr. Daniel Escott Boston, 51, of 1539 Hatcher Drive died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at his home.
The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kershaw City Cemetery, with the Revs. Donald Deese and Charlie Simmons officiating.
Born in Winnsboro, Mr. Boston was a member of the Center Grove Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an auto mechanic.
Surviving are his son, Richard Scott Boston of Heath Springs; his father, Robert Leroy Boston of Berwick, Penn.; his mother, Elizabeth Young Whitley of Heath Springs; three brothers, Richard C. Boston of Heath Springs, W. Glenn Whitley of Georgetown and Mr. John Charles Whitley of Kershaw; and two sisters, Roseann Talley of New Braunfels, Texas, and Margaret Reeves of Kershaw.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel.
Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Lila Brunson
SPARTANBURG - Lila Marie Alley Brunson, 74, of 103 Anita Drive died Friday, June 26, 1998, at her home.
The graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Kirk H. Neely officiating.
Mrs. Brunson was retired from the C&S Bank after 36 years as a teller and was co-owner of the Nu-Way Restaurant and Lounge. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and the C&S Retirees.
Surviving are her husband, Roland Edward Brunson Sr. of Fort Lawn; two sons, Roland Edward "Rocky" Brunson and William Alexander "Bubba" Brunson, both of Spartanburg; her sister, Betty Miller of Spartanburg; three brothers, Doc Alley, Jim Alley and Bill Alley, all of Spartanburg; and two granddaughters.
The family will receive friends at the home, 103 Anita Drive.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

Nellie Howie
CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Nellie Howie, 78, of 300 Hoskin Mill Road died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at her home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Reeder Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, with the Rev. Donald Steger officiating. Burial will be at Beatties Ford Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Howie was a member of Reeder Memorial Baptist Church and a senior member of the church Usher Board. She was a member of the hymn choir and the Sunshine Club. She was also a member of the Naomi Missionary Group.
Surviving are her daughter, Virginia Clark of Chester; three sons, James Howie of Charlotte, Willie Howie and Larry Howie, both of Orange, N.J.; her brother, Sammie Young of Orange, N.J.; three sisters, Mary Ballard of Baltimore, Dorothy Ross of Charlotte and Annie Lou Caudle of Charlotte; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The body will be placed in the church at 1:15 p.m. today.
King's Funeral Home of Charlotte is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Jarrell Jr.
YORK - Donald Jarrell Jr., the infant son of Donald and Sharon Jarrell of 433 S. Beersheba Road, died Thursday, June, 25, 1998, at home.
Funeral arrangements will announced by M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

CLOVER - Donald Perry Jarrell Jr., the infant son of Donald Perry and Sharron Blasky Jarrell of 433 South Beersheba Road, died Thursday, June 24, 1998.
The graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Beersheba Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. William K. Neely officiating.
Surviving in addtion to his parents are his maternal grandmother, Greneta Blasky of the home; paternal grandparents, Patricia Jarrell of Spartanburg and Perry Jarrell of Charleston; and three sisters, Sarrah Blasky, Jessica Cotton and Brittany Jarrell, all of the home.

David Perry
ROCK HILL - Mr. David Perry of 1270 Ogden Road died June 27, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

David Perry Sr.
ROCK HILL - Mr. David Lee Perry Sr. of 1270 Ogden Road died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edward J. Garrison officiating and the Revs. Osbey Roddey, L.L. Robertson, and Iday Watson assisting. The Rev. M.N. Baxter will give the eulogy. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of York County, Mr. Perry was a roller pressman and a graduate of Emmett Scott High School. He was also a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and earned the Sharpshooters Medal. He was a member of the Machine Printers and Engravers Association of the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co.
Surviving are his wife, Claretha S. Perry; his son, David Perry Jr. of Freeport, N.Y.; his daughter, Tonia Perry of Freeport, N.Y.; his stepdaughter, Shondra N. Wilson of the home; two brothers, Robert H. Perry and Jeffrey A. Perry, both of Rock Hill; and his sister, Johnnie P. Sibley of Rock Hill.
The body may be viewed from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Virginia Tribble
GREENVILLE - Mrs. Virginia Johnson Tribble, 83, of 254 Glen Brooke Way, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, June 26, 1998.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Fourth Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bob Lawrence officiating.
Born in Lowell, Mass., she was a homemaker and a member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Feaster Vandiver Tribble.
Surviving are her son, F. Vandiver Tribble of Greenville; and her granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Francis Hospital, 414-A Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601; or Fourth Presbyterian Church, 703 E. Washington St., Greenville, SC 29601.
The Mackey Mortuary in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.

Eddie Whitaker
LANCASTER - Mr. Eddie Carson Whitaker Sr., 48, of 802 Hampton-Grace Ave. died Friday, June 26, 1998, at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Victory Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Usher officiating. Burial will be at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Monroe, N.C., Mr. Whitaker was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and retired from the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Little Lake Hunting Club.
Surviving are two sons, Eddie Whitaker Jr. and John Whitaker, both of Lancaster; his daughter, Tammy Whitaker of Lancaster; two brothers, Kenneth Earl ÒKen" Whitaker and Billy Ray Whitaker, both of Lancaster; two sisters, Lucille Garris of Lancaster and Peggy Steele of San Diego; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Lucille Garris, 802 Hampton-Grave Ave., Lancaster.
Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

William Fortescue
FORT MILL - Mr. William Thomas Fortescue, 72, of 215 Henry St. died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Magnolia Manor.
The funeral will be private.
A native of Laurens, Mr. Fortescue was a retired carpenter in residential construction. He was an avid fisherman of the Santee-Cooper lakes for many years.
Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Dewey Johnson
PONTIAC, Mich. - Mr. Dewey "Dave" Johnson, 64, of Pontiac died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at POH Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home in Chester. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Buncombe, N.C., Mr. Johnson was an Air Force veteran and was retired from General Motors Truck & Bus after 31 years.
Surviving are his wife, Grace H. Johnson; three sons, Dewey D. Johnson Jr. of Lakeville, Mich., Edward Paul Johnson and Andrew Curtis Johnson, both of Pontiac; two daughters, Alisha Lynn VanAuken of Lakeville and Anita Dianne Stimage of Hurst, Texas; his brother, William E. Johnson of Chester; his sister, Augusta "Sudie" Clack of Chester; three stepsons, Gregory Paul Filippone of West Warwick, R.I., Vincent W. Filippone of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Kristopher L. Smith of Lakeville; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home.

J. Clyde Plexico Jr.
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - The Rev. J. Clyde Plexico Jr., 76, of Hendersonville, N.C., died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Pardee Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, with the Rev. Drs. Bill Tabor, A.B. Plexico and Gene Linton officiating. A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Sharon.
The Rev. Plexico was a Sharon native. He attended King College in Bristol, Tenn., Asheville College, University of North Carolina, Tulane University in New Orleans and Columbia Theological Seminary, in Decatur, Ga.
He had served 21 Presbyterian churches by the time he retired in 1986, including three First Presbyterian Churches; Atcooga Presbyterian Church in Dalton, Ga., which he organized; Seneca Presbyterian Church in Seneca; Waldsenian Presbyterian Church in Valdese, N.C.; Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church in New Orleans; Deer Creek Presbyterian Church in Cumming, Ga.; and St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Chester.
Surviving are his wife, Miriam Clark Plexico; two daughters, Sandra Salvaggio-Walker and Dale Scott both of Hendersonville; his son, J. Clark Plexico of Raleigh; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Walker, 1209 Pinebrook Circle in Hendersonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rev. J. Clyde Plexico Jr. memorial fund. Checks can be written to the Presbytery of Western North Carolina and sent to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 900 Blythe St., Hendersonville, NC 28791.
Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is in charge.
