James Reeves Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. James "Jim" Franklin Reeves Jr., 71, of 746 Cambridge Circle died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Catawba Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Huddleston officiating. Burial will be at Catawba Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Reeves was a retired pipefitter. He served with the Army and the Merchant Marine during the Korean conflict and was a member of the United Association of Plumbing and Pipefitters Industry Union No. 96-421.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Reeves; his son, Jimmy Reeves of Rock Hill; his father, James Reeves Sr. of Charlotte; his brother, Ken Reeves of Charlotte; three sisters, Joyce Braswell and Betty Stallings, both of Charlotte, and Doris Robbins of Indian Springs, Ala.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home from 4 to 6 tonight and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Catawba Baptist Church Building Fund, 2639 Catawba Church Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Nancy Brock

QUEENS, N.Y. - Mrs. Nancy Douglas Brock of 116-39 S. 130th St., Ozone Park, N.Y., died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 138-59 Lloyd Road, Jamaica, N.Y.

Surviving are her husband, Oscar Brock; her son, Mark Brock of the home; two daughters, Lisa Brock and Arether Brock, both of the home; her brother, James Douglas of Rock Hill; and four sisters, Elizabeth Walker and Mary Brown, both of New York, and Rosa Ann White and Sandra Douglas, both of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Foster's Funeral Home, 179-24 Linden Blvd., Jamaica, N.Y.

Robinson Funeral Home will announce local arrangements.

Clifford Comer

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mr. Clifford William Comer, 90, of 722-E Center St., Mooresville, N.C., died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Guilford Memorial Park.

A native of Yadkin, N.C., Mr. Comer attended Providence Church of God. He was a former member of Clearview Faith Temple and retired after 60 years as a carpenter.

Surviving are four sons, R.G. Comer, Larry Comer and Lloyd Comer, all of Greensboro, and Boyd Comer of York; two daughters, Linda Crawford of Statesville, N.C., and Judy Haynesworth of Greensboro; three sisters, Nola Anthony, Ida Doss and Pauline Smith, all of Greensboro; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from from 7 to 9 tonight at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.

Freddie May Cook

KERSHAW - Mrs. Freddie May Turner Cook, 91, of 112 E. Church St. died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Kershaw City Cemetery, with the Rev. Bryant Fersner officiating.

A native of Gaffney, Mrs. Cook attended United Methodist Church in Jackson Heights, N.Y. She retired from Home Life Insurance Co. and was a member of the United Women's Group, the College Club, the Southern Society of Jackson Heights and the Golden Age Club. Mrs. Cook taught Sunday school for several years. She was the widow of John Karl Cook.

Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Jane McTaggart, of Kershaw; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Elizabeth Elwell

CHESTER - Mrs. Elizabeth Baine Elwell, 87, of 1305 Stringfellow Road died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chester Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. David Levister officiating.

A native of Harnett, N.C., Mrs. Elwell was a homemaker. She was the widow of Riley Elwell.

Surviving are her son, L. Wayne Elwell of Chester; three grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Funeral Home.

Roberta Garrison

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Roberta Anne Oliver Garrison, 49, of 2425 Ridgeway Lane died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Patricia Griffith-Fallaw and Jimmy Holley officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Lawrence County, Ark., Mrs. Garrison was a nurse at Piedmont Medical Center. She received the Nurse of the Year award several times during her career.

Surviving are her husband, Charles "Chuck" Garrison Jr.; her daughter, Angela McIntyre of Rock Hill; her mother, Catherine Oliver of York; her brother, Larry Oliver of Chester; two sisters, Kay Coyle of York and Brenda Vance of Black Rock, Ark.; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Leukemia Society of America, P.O. Box 210936, Columbia, SC 29221.

T.J. Graham

CHESTER - Mr. T.J. Graham, 57, of 210 Ligon St. died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. George Sims officiating, assisted by the Revs. A.A. Bankhead and Charles Pratt. Burial will be at the church cemetery

A native of Chester, Mr. Graham was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church. He attended Chester County public schools and was employed by Robert Lee Construction and Landscaping.

Surviving are his son, Eddie Hardin of Chester; his companion, Ella Rambert of the home; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Geneva Wise, at 787 Old York Road in Chester.

King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., is in charge.
