E. Grady Merck Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. E. Grady Merck Sr., 55, of 1029 Neal St. died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Costner officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

A native of Belmont, N.C., Mr. Merck was employed by Superior Washer and Gasket, S.C. Corp., in Rock Hill. He attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church in Fort Mill and played guitar with several country music bands and in area churches.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Hullett Merck; three sons, Kyle Eric Merck of the home, Michael Grady Merck of Charlotte, and Grady Merck Jr. of York; two daughters, Michelle Bradham of Sharon and Crystal Merck of Kershaw; his brother, Harry Merck of Clover; two sisters, Lucille Youngblood of York and Carol Aman of Delta, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Patricia Wallace, 3661 India Hook Road, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, S.C. Affiliate, P.O. Box 6604, Columbia, SC 29260.

Annie Stinson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Annie Belk Stinson, 82, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ricky Haile officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Stinson was a homemaker and a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Waddell Stinson Jr. and Larry Morrow Stinson, both of Lancaster; two sisters, Sara Frazier of Lancaster and Eunice Tripps of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

McMullen Funeral Home is in charge.

Myrtle Thompson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Myrtle Stogner Thompson, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jack Nunn, William Graham and Robert Jones officiating. Burial will be at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery.

Born in Lancaster County, Mrs. Thompson was the retired owner/operator of Thompson Grocery at Sapp's Crossroads. She was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church and the widow of Carl Thompson.

Surviving are two sons, Ned Thompson of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Tommy Thompson of Marietta, Ga.; six daughters, Naida Caterina and Betty Foard, both of Charlotte, Carlene Kiser of Atlanta, Ann Grayson of Tampa, Fla., Mary Harper of Murrells Inlet, and Linda Arruza of Simi Valley, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church building fund, 133 S. Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Beulah Usher

LANCASTER - Mrs. Beulah Mae Everall Usher, 91, of 2248 Willie Usher Road died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thurman Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Usher was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Jud Usher.

Surviving are her son, Howard Usher of Lancaster; her daughter, Ellen Bierhost of Jacksonville, Fla.; her brother, Odell Everall of Lancaster; her sister, Irene Everall of Lancaster; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church, 6437 Oak Hill Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Louise Brown

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Louise Tadlock Terry Brown, 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was the widow of Lonnie Terry and Roy Earl Brown.

Surviving are her son, Kenneth Wayne Brown of Rock Hill; her daughter, Deborah B. Daniels of Rock Hill; two brothers, Grover Tadlock of Gastonia, N.C., and Preston Tadlock of Belmont, N.C.; two sisters, Estelle Bernasconi of Gastonia, N.C., and Josephine Hamilton of Belmont, N.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Louise Brown Funeral Fund c/o Wolfe Funeral Home, 314 Spratt St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Carroll Harrison

CLOVER - Mr. Carroll Hunter Harrison, 77, of 6249 Oakridge Road died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jerry Bryant and Dean Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Harrison was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from C&C Builders.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Parham Harrison; two sons, Carl Arthur Harrison and Steven Dwight Harrison, both of Clover; his daughter, Diane Harrison Harwell of Hopkins; three brothers, David L. Harrison and Jerry Harrison, both of Greensboro, N.C., and John B. Harrison of Gastonia, N.C.; his sister, Edna L. Harrison of Gastonia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Dorothy Hensley

FORT MILL - Mrs. Dorothy Elaine Price Hensley, 45, of 1744 Country Lodge Road died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Glen Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Flack officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker. She was retired from the Celanese Corp.

Surviving are her husband, Albert "Junior" Hensley; her son, Shaun Christopher Hensley of Fort Mill; her daughter, Stephanie Hensley Torbush of Fort Mill; her parents, Loyd and Frances Price of Fort Mill; her brother, Loyd Alan Price of Fort Mill; her sister, Cathy Price Workman of Fort Mill; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
