Turner Glenn

CHESTER - Mr. Turner Glenn, 90, of the Chester County Nursing Center, formerly of Ashford Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.E. Page officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Glenn was a Chester native. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from the Mecklenburg County School District.

Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Brice Glenn of Philadelphia; three sons, James Hill of Chester, and Turner Glenn Jr. and Sammy James Glenn, both of Philadelphia; five daughters, Janie Mae Glenn of East Orange, N.J., Janice Glenn and Annie Mae Glenn, both of Philadelphia, Janie Ruth Buckson of Baltimore, and Bessie Black of Charlotte; four sisters, Mary Glenn and Alberta Glenn, both of Chester, Ida Clark of Charlotte and Pearl Glenn of Newark, N.J.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of James Hill, 610 Old York Road, Chester.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home.

Winnie Roberts

NAPLES, FLA. - Mrs. Winnie Fred Strait Roberts, 85, of Naples died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, at her home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Matthew Horne officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was widow of Lloyd L. Roberts Sr.

Surviving are her sons, Lloyd L. Roberts Jr. of Charlotte and John F. Roberts and William W. Roberts, both of Naples; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Bass Funeral Home.

William Rowell

LANCASTER - Mr. William Martin "Bill" Rowell, 69, of 1105 University Drive died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at University Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Harris officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Rowell worked at Duracell and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge #5, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and operated the Phillips "66" Service Station on S.C. 200 from 1958 to 1973.

Surviving are his wife; Betty Rowell, his daughter, Jeannie Walton of Lancaster; his brother, Jerry Rowell of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to University Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1015, Lancaster, SC 29721-1015.

Darlene Small

LANCASTER - Mrs. Darlene Wright Small, 51, of 1830 Edgeport Drive died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Catawba Baptist Church, with Dr. Clarence Adkins officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mrs. Small was a homemaker and member of Catawba Baptist Church, where she was the Sunday school director.

Surviving are her husband, Pat Small; her son, David Small of Lancaster; her daughter, Amy Bailey of Lancaster; and two sisters, Ruth "Tootsie" Hayes and Eva Ann Mahaffey, both of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends at Mahaffey Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight.

Memorials may be made to Catawba Baptist Church, 1144 Riverside Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Edna Alston

COLUMBIA - Mrs. Edna Lunice Lowery Alston of 8209 Fairglen Lane died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home in Rock Hill.

The family will be at the home of her mother, Beulah Lowery, 954 Carolina Ave., Rock Hill.

Garland Bolton

KERSHAW - Mr. Garland Eugene Bolton, 57, of 21 Oak Drive died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Abney Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mendle Baker officiating.

Mr. Bolton was a truck driver and a member of Abney Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne Gardner Bolton; seven sons, Thomas Michael Bolton of Elgin, Timothy Patrick Bolton of Newburgh, Ind., Scott Allen Bolton of Boonville, Ind., Troy Dewayne Bolton of New Harmony, Ind., Charles Gilbert Bolton of Kershaw and Johnny Scott Aragon and Joseph Morris Aragon, both of Winter Haven, Fla.; two daughters, Kelli Ann Bolton of Boonville and Dena Louise Baker of East Lake, Ohio; his parents, Charles Bolton and Josephine "Alice" Bolton of Newburgh; his brother, Larry Wayne Bolton of Boonville; his sister, Joann Collier of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1142, Lancaster, SC 29721-1142.

Cauthen Funeral Home Kershaw Chapel is in charge.

Daniel Faulkenberry

LANCASTER - Mr. Daniel A. Faulkenberry, 81, of 651 McCowan Lane died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Kershaw County Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Revs. Shane Patrick and Roy Barnes officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Faulkenberry was a retired Springs Industries employee. He was a member of First Baptist Church, lifetime member of Jackson Masonic Lodge and a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served in the South Pacific for four years. He also served in the National Guard.

Surviving are his brother, John "Ike" Faulkenberry of Frankfurt, Ky., and his sister, Lillian Robinson of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight and at other times at the home of his sister, Lillian Robinson, 513 Monroe Highway, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720 or to Hope In Lancaster, 2008 Pageland Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to the charity of one's choice.
