Patsy Williams

ALBANY, Ga. - Mrs. Patsy Ann "Pat" Williams, 52, of Lilly Pond Road died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, in Birmingham, Ala.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mathews Oaklawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kent Lampp officiating. Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery in Lake Park, Ga.

A native of York, Mrs. Williams was a retired technical librarian employed with the Marine Base. She was a member of Beacon Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Robbie Walker of Fort Mill; her parents, Frank and Jessie Funderburk of Fort Mill; and two sisters, Gloria F. Andrews of Pineville, N.C., and Sherrie Meyers of Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mathews Oaklawn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. 70656, Albany, Ga. 31708.

Lunice Alston

COLUMBIA - Mrs. Lunice Lowery Alston of 8209 Fairglen Lane died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at Richland Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Flint Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. W.B. White officiating and the Revs. Mary Alston and Ronald Broome assisting. Pastor Bobby L. Smith will give the eulogy. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Alston was employed with the South Carolina Electric and Gas for 19 years. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Zion Cannan Baptist Church in Columbia. She was a graduate of Emmett Scott High School and attended Friendship Junior College.

Surviving are her husband, the Rev. David Alston; two sons, Michael Alston and Brian Alston, both of Columbia; and her mother, Beulah Lowery of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Beulah Lowery, 954 Carolina Ave., Rock Hill.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Doris Bailey

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Doris Bennett Bailey, 67, of 865 McNair St. died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at home.

The graveside service will be 11 today at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, with Pastors Gary Adkins and Victor Rodriguez officiating.

Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, James Bailey; three sons, James Wayland Bailey of McConnells, William Anthony Bailey and Thomas Walter Bailey, both of Rock Hill; her sister, Mary Kirkland of Rock Hill and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Larry Burrell

RICHBURG - Mr. Larry Aaron Burrell, 61, of 3700 Lancaster Highway died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Community Chapel Church, with the Revs. Irene Jordan and Kenneth Compton officiating. Burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Burrell was employed with the Chester County School District and was retired from Springs Industries. He attended Community Chapel Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He attended the schools of Chester County.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne Burrell; his father, Aaron Oscar Burrell Sr. of Chester; three daughters, Angela Burrell Going of Blackstock, and Debra B. Henderson and Kathy F. McManus both of Chester; two brothers, Milton O. Burrell and Buddy Burrell both of Chester; his sister, Margaret B. Mabry of Chester; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Charlie Candler

LAURENS - The Rev. Charlie Frank Candler, 92, of Martha Franks Retirement Center died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Siloam Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Ellenburg and Bobby Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Candler was a retired Baptist minister. His pastorates included Pleasant View Baptist Church in Greer, Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ware Shoals, Park Street Baptist Church in Easley, Siloam Baptist Church in Easley, White Street Baptist Church in Rock Hill and Hopewell Baptist Church in Seneca. Rev. Candler was a member of Laurens First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Wilson of Piedmont and Martha Boling of Taylors; his son, Paul Candler of Easley; four sisters, Almeta Vaughn of Greenville, Dorsie Fowler of Easley, Pearl Pritt of Newport News, Va., and Allie Candler of Independence, Va.; two brothers, Lonnie Candler of Lilesville, N.C., and the Rev. Cecil Candler of Aiken; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Candler Endowment, North Greenville College, P.O. Box 1892, Tigerville, S.C. 29688.

The families are at their respective homes.

Fred Cason Sr.

LANCASTER - The Rev. Fred Edgar Cason Sr., 76, of 1982 Douglas Road, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Lancaster Church of God, with the Revs. Lacy Jones, Mickey Thomas and J.B. Vanderford officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls.

The Rev. Cason was a retired ordained minister. He was a pastor for 30 years in Great Falls, Myrtle Beach, Lydia Hill, Hemingway and Startex. He was a member of the Lancaster Church of God.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Candler Cason; two sons, Fred Edgar Cason Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and Dr. Ronald Keith Cason of Cleveland, Tenn.; his daughter, Susan Cason Jordan of Lancaster and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his daughter, Susan Jordan, 2504 Downey Drive, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to Lancaster Church of God building fund, 1437 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.

John Lee Jr.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Dr. John F. Lee Jr., 77, died Nov. 12, 1998, at home.

The funeral was Nov. 17 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis Cowgill officiating. Burial followed in the Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

Dr. Lee served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II before graduating from Georgetown University in 1953. He had a long and distinguished career as a surgeon and worked in hospitals from Massachusetts to Alaska.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Lee; two sons, John Lee of Rock Hill and Christopher Lee of Big Lake, Alaska.; his daughter, Theresa Wren of Auburn, Wash.; his sister, Kathlene Lee of New York; and four brothers, Richard Lee of Texas, Edwin Lee of Georgia, and Robert and Gerard Lee, both of New York.
