Don Lowrey

FORT MILL - Mr. Don Kenneth Lowrey, 54, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Wolfe Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Greenville.

Mr. Lowrey was a 1962 graduate of Garinger High School in Charlotte.

Surviving are his daughter, Kim Moreno of Greenville; three sons, Don Kevin Lowrey of Liberty, Don Kenneth Lowrey Jr. and Todd Rowell, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six sisters, Judy Gibbons of Columbia, Md., Tammy Crook of Statesville, N.C., Barbara Davis, Kathy Coates, Gail Kimbrell and Debbie Shipley, all of Charlotte; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wolfe Funeral Home.

Boyce McGuirt

LANCASTER - Mr. Boyce Clyburn McGuirt, 86, of 1113 Third St. died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster chapel, with the Rev. Bill Morgan officiating. Burial will be in White Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. McGuirt was a member of the White Bluff Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are his son, Donald McGuirt of Myrtle Beach; his daughter, Hazel McLemore of Lancaster; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Malinda Thompson

CARLISLE - Mrs. Malinda Meadows Thompson, 89, of 5716 Woods Ferry Road died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Leeds, with the Rev. Oliver Royal officiating and the Revs. Moses Lightner, W.W. Thompson and Pastor Cliff Dye assisting. The Rev. J.K. Stringfellow will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior choir, Mother of the Usher Board, member of Silver Hill Order of the Eastern Star No. 244, the CB&A Society and adviser of the gospel choir. She was a homemaker and the widow of H.C. Thompson.

Surviving are her son, Charlie M. Thompson of Carlisle; two daughters, Essie M. Smith and Margaret Feaster, both of Carlisle; her sister, Betty Price of Baltimore; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Eastern Star Rites will be 7 tonight at King's Funeral Home.

Angela Chisolm

LOS ANGELES - Ms. Angela Montina Chisolm, 33, of Pflugeville, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, in Los Angeles.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Boyd Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. B.R. Wilson officiating and the Revs. Richard A. Coax-um, Hattie Foster and Paul Mosley assisting. The Rev. Daniel Chisholm will give the eulogy.

A native of Rock Hill, Ms. Chisolm was a former member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Rock Hill and later joined St. Mary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, where she was an usher. She was a graduate of North Carolina State University, where she majored in electrical engineering. She was employed as a project engineer with Dell Computers in Austin.

Surviving are her daughter, Kicherra "KiKi" Chisolm of the home; her parents, the Rev. Jacob L. and Doris Chisolm III of Rock Hill; three brothers, Staff Sgt. Jacob L. Chisolm IV of Fort Meade, Md., Derrick A. Chisolm of Cayce and Marvin B. Wade of Monroe, N.C.; her sister, Maureen Chisolm of Rock Hill; her paternal grandparents, Jacob and Catherine Chisolm of Rock Hill; and her maternal grandfather, Clarence Bowen of Rock Hill.

The body will lie in state at 11:30 a.m. today at Boyd Hill Baptist Church until the service. The family will receive friends at 6142 Turkey Farm Road, Rock Hill.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary Frances Hendrix

LANCASTER - Mrs. Mary Frances Jones Hendrix, 84, of 905 Crescent Drive died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Revs. Gilbert Rowell and Dr. Roy E. Beckham will officiate.

Mrs. Hendrix was a member of the First A.R.P. Church for 53 years. A graduate of Coker College, she was a public school and music teacher and was retired from Brooklyn-Springs Elementary School. She was a member of the Lillie Strickland Music Club, the Ladies Golf Association and the 20th Century Book Club.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence Harbin Hendrix; a son, Dr. J. David Hendrix of Greenville, N.C.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her nephew; and her niece.

The family will receive friends at the residence at 905 Crescent Drive, Lancaster.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, is in charge.

Lillian Jones

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lillian "Lillie Mae" Mary Jones, 80, of 844 Green St. died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. John David Brown officiating and the Revs. Ronald Broom and William Perry assisting.

She attended the public schools of York County and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She served in numerous capacities there and was a renowned singer of the gospel in her church and throughout the community.

She was the widow of Hezekiah Jones Sr.

Surviving are four sons, Dr. Donald Brittenum of Cleveland, Labon Brittenum of Campbell, Ohio, Hezekiah Jones of the Bronx, N.Y., and Donald Mayfield of Rock Hill; four daughters, Charlotte Jones of the Bronx, and Lillian Bright, Marie Jones and Vernell McCullough, all of Rock Hill; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, and the family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Clemons Funeral Home is in charge.

Esther Mae Lilly

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Esther Mae Lilly, 77, of 4212 W. Mount Gallant Road died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Memorial Funeral Home, Princeton, W.Va., with the Rev. Dennis Buchanan officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

A homemaker most of her life, she was a member of the Mount Gallant Church of God.

Mrs. Lilly was the widow of Woodrow Lilly.

Surviving are five sons, Hubert E. Lilly of Rock Hill, Herbert E. Lilly of Huntington, Md.; Bobby Joe Lilly of Rock Hill, Ronald D. Lilly of York and Charles W. Lilly of Coolridge, W.Va; two daughters, Carolyn L. Boulware of Rock Hill and Linda M. Lilly of Shady Springs, W.Va.; four brothers and five sisters; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Memorial Funeral Home in Princeton from 6 to 8 tonight. They will receive friends at other times at the home of her son Bob Lilly, 3900 Crestview Drive, Rock Hill.

The Greene Funeral Home is in charge.
