Mamie Stevenson

CHESTER - Miss Mamie Catherine Stevenson, 54, of 3127 Lyles Road died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rehoboth AME Zion Church, with the Rev. W.H. Woods Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A Chester native, Miss Stevenson was a member of the Rehoboth AME Zion Church. She attended Chester County public schools and was a domestic worker.

Surviving are her mother, Hazelean Stevenson of the home; four brothers, Willie James Stevenson and Charles Stevenson, both of Chester, Horace Stevenson of Richburg and Bobby Stevenson of Catawba; and four sisters, Della McCrorey and Shirley Strong, both of the home, Essie Beaty of Chester and Ellen Teresa McCullough of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 9 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Clara Thompson

SHARON - Mrs. Clara B. Foote Thompson, 83, of 4438 George Bridge Road died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Wallace Thomson Hospital in Union.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church in the Wilksburg Community, with the Rev. Curtis Washington officiating, and Pastor Cliff Dye and the Revs. James Good and Columbus Pendergrass assisting. The Rev. J.G. Jones will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church and the AP&B Society No. 17. She was the widow of William Fred Thompson.

Surviving are two sons, the Rev. William Wallace Thompson of Carlisle and Michael Numer Thompson of Sharon; her daughter, Mary Ethel Walker of Sharon; her brother, Julius Foote Jr. of Carlisle; two sisters, Annie Worthy and Ella Wilks, both of Carlisle; six grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home.

Joseph Williams

SHARON - Mr. Joseph Gregory "Greg" Williams, 28, of 1134 Traylor Road died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Williams was employed with Catawba Service, Cable TV. He served in the Army and attended Philadelphia United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Lynn Moss Williams; his parents, Joseph and Mildred Williams of York; two brothers, Danny Jones of High Point, N.C., and Steven Williams of York; two sisters, Cheryl Dial of Thomasville, N.C., and Karen Smith of Indian Land; and his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Falkender of High Point, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Robert Wallace

MARSHVILLE, N.C. - Mr. Robert Wilson Wallace, 87, of Marshville died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Union Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Morgan and Son Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace was a groundskeeper at Wingate University.

Surviving are his wife, Bridie Sims Wallace; five sons, Kermit Wallace of Monroe, N.C., Gary Wallace of Rock Hill, Bobby Wallace, Jimmy Wallace and Ricky Wallace, all of Marshville; four daughters, Thelma Patterson of Marshville, Bonnie Buchler of Alma, Mich., Barbara Newton of Fort Mill, and Mildred McMillan of Laurinburg; his brother, Claude Wallace of Marshville; three sisters, Ethel Tucker and Ola Baucom, both of Monroe, and Faye Hoskins of Rock Hill; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A.V. Watts

YORK - Mr. A.V. Watts, 86, of 205 McClain St. died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Talley officiating and the Rev. Coit Auten assisting. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Watts was self-employed. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Senora Tucker Watts; four sons, Ken Baker of Rock Hill, Ricky Yarbrough of Lake Wylie, Randy Brantley of York and David Brantley of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church building fund, 110 Ross Cannon St., York, SC 29745.

Eleanor Bennett

FORT MILL - Mrs. Eleanor Levanie Kimbrell Bennett, 65, of 9937 Calvin Hall Road died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Mercy South Hospital in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Indian Land Church of God, with the Revs. Bill Ferguson and Roy Player officiating. Burial will be at the Hartis Grove Baptist Church in Indian Trail, N.C.

Mrs. Bennett was the widow of Billy Hugh Bennett Sr. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She retired from E.C. Manufacturing, where she was an operator.

Surviving are four sons, Billy H. Bennett Jr. of Lancaster and Bobby A. Bennett, Charles Edward Bennett and James Phillip Bennett, all of Fort Mill; four daughters, Barbara Ann Acott of Van Wyck, Brenda McCoy and Mary Barrett, both of Fort Mill, and Karen Ellis of Smyrna; her brother, Angues Edward "Tom" Kimbrell of Charlotte; two sisters, Roberta Kimbrell Roberts of Great Falls and Lula Mae Merritt of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church building fund, 1726 Zoar Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715 or Indian Land Church of God, 8558 Shelly Mullis Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Garland Bolton

KERSHAW - Mr. Garland Eugene Bolton, 57, of 21 Oak Drive died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Abney Baptist Church with the Rev. Mendle Baker officiating.

Mr. Bolton was a truck driver and a member of Abney Baptist Church.

Surviving are seven sons, Thomas Michael Bolton of Elgin, Timothy Patrick Bolton of Newburgh, Ind., Scott Allen Bolton of Boonville, Ind., Troy Dewayne Bolton of New Harmony, Ind., Charles Gilbert Bolton of Kershaw and Johnny Scott Aragon and Joseph Morris Aragon, both of Winter Haven, Fla.; two daughters, Kelli Ann Bolton of Boonville, Ind., and Dena Louise Baker of East Lake, Ohio; his parents, Charles Bolton and Josephine "Alice" Bolton of Newburgh, Ind.; his brother, Larry Wayne Bolton of Boonville, Ind.; his sister, Joann Collier of Lexington; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cauthen Funeral Home Kershaw chapel and at other times at home.
